90' GOAL! Blackpool go 3-1 at Cardiff thanks to another goal from Matt Phillips.
83' GOAL! Blackpool turn it around. The other Phillips scores this time, as Matt Phillips bends a great left-footed finish into the far corner. 2-1 Blackpool and the game in South Wales has been turned on it's head.
78' GOAL! And just like that Kevin Phillips volleys home for Blackpool. Marshall makes a mess of the corner kick which is floated in, and the substitute scores his fourth in his last five appearances.
62' GOAL! Cardiff have got the lead 1-0 thanks to Joe Mason's tidy finish. They have been riding their luck but came back into the game, after Miller went close.

On September 17th. 2011 when Cardiff visited Bloomfield Road, Crainey and Phillips (Matt) were brought on as subs in the 2nd. half and Kevin Phillips equalised shortly afterwards (62min.) The Blackpool team and subs were eight players different on that day. ( Hudson played for Cardiff but Mason didn't come on until the 85th.)
As I left the ground, I was thinking how difficult the 'return leg' would be. And the whole season, for that matter!
Well! The return leg has exceeded all my expectations.
But, we must not squander this advantage, particularly our 'double figure' goal average which could have a critical bearing on final league placings. ( the word 'defence' springs to mind)
Blackpool's 'impact substitutions system' is becoming well-known now. Yes, it carries some risk, particularly if the opposition are able to score goals in the 1st. half and continue confidently.
I suppose it's a case of 'if it aint broke don't fix it.' Kevin Phillips's legs might well agree?
