    • 90+4' Do Prado tries to set up a shot for De Ridder on the edge of the box, but Danns not only closes it down but the last touch belongs to the Saints midfielder as it ricochets off for a goal kick.
    • 90+3' Connolly fouls Mills and Schmeichel will take the free-kick, only for Leicester to concede yet another one of their own battling for the high delivery.
    • 90+2' Drinkwater's low cross is deflected behind by De Ridder for a corner which Leicester take short to wind down the clock. From it, they win an attacking throw which again they hold up before conceding a defensive free-kick.
    • 90+1' Four minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match.
    • 90' Danns on De Ridder leads to another Soton free-kick which they'll rake into the Leicester box, but Schmeichel makes a comfortable claim.
    • 89' Connolly's attempt to square to Do Prado six yards from the goalmouth is cut out by St Ledger before De Ridder heads over the bar.
    • 87' Boos and jeers as Nugent takes his sweet time coming off the pitch, basking in the obsene chants as he makes way for Steve Howard in the sixth and final available switch of the match.

    • 64' Hooiveld is limping. This is bad news for a Saints squad already struck by injury. He hands over the captain's armband... he's coming off.

    • 56' And a double substitution it is - Falque ends his Saints debut just shy of the hour with Lee Holmes on in his place, while Steve De Ridder replaces Hammond.

    • 32' Beckford gets the better of Hooiveld to go one-on-one with Davis, until the whistle sounds as he was deemed to have fouled the centre-back in that tussle. The Saints keeper saved the shot, anyway.
    • 31' Leicester break and Beckford lays on a decent through ball to Dyer who enters the penalty area from the left-hand side. It could be three here! But no, what a challenge by Hooiveld on the slide just as the winger looked set to pull the trigger!
    • 30' Fox is picked out in acres of space on the left now. He beats Peltier on the edge of the box, but cannot do the same with Gallagher who cuts out the danger.
    • 28' Falque fouls Danns inside the centre circle as the hosts are cutting a very frustrated figure. Their defending has not been up to scratch, quite frankly. Beaten handily in the moments leading to each strike for the two goals.
    • 27' Mills' first goal for Leicester, and a very impressive contribution from two centre-backs only up that end of the pitch for the preceding corner kick!
    • 26' Momentum remains with the away side, and that's a neat turn by St Ledger out on the left to beat Martin. The floated cross is equally impressive from the centre-back - and his defensive partner Mills heads home Leicester's second!
    • 25' Another Leicester corner, but Saints get the driven delivery away.
    • 24' It was a head injury to Wellens which makes the lack of a stoppage even more baffling. His nose is a bloody mess from a collision with Do Prado. Here come Leicester again, Nugent has space to shoot! Just wide of the far post. Almost a brace!
    • 23' Wellens is hurt on the floor but play continues. It almost comes back to haunt the hosts as the ball is lost and Konchesky through passes for Dyer. His first touch is a poor one, though, and it ends up with Kelvin Davis.

    • 21' The in-swindger is punched from the goal line by Schmeichel, who Mr. Swarbrick rules was being leant into by Connolly. Free-kick.

    • 19' This is in Rickie Lambert territory, but with the forward still suspended it's Schneiderlin standing over this one. The shot is faked and he passes short, but the set piece routine is cut out and cleared by the visitors.
    • 18' New boy Falque keeps a flailing Soton attack alive long enough to win the free-kick from Wellens.
    • 17' Here come the home side looking for a quick response, but the deep cross from the left wing is caught well by Schmeichel.
    • 16' Certainly wasn't against the run of play, either. I'd give the edge of the first quarter hour to the Blues on points.
    • 15' Neat pass down the left by Mills to Nugent. He has a couple of options to pass, but he moves inside Harding and unleashes a beautiful strike into the far bottom corner! In majestic fashion the away side lead!
    • 14' Southampton close down the Foxes well enough that it sends them from the Saints' final third, all the way back to their own box.
    • 12' Danns' back pass attempt ends up putting Connolly through on goal! But the striker rushes his shot, a tame low attempt straight at Schmeichel.
    • 11' Beckford comes back to collect the ball, only to turn and fire a weak effort from 25 yards well wide.
    • 10' Hooiveld beats Nugent to a long pass upfield.
    • 9' Nugent looks to pick out strike partner Beckford with a chipped pass into the penalty area, but Martin rises tallest to head it away.
    • 8' Connolly's cross from the right is deflected into the waiting arms of Schmeichel.
    • 7' Very fast-paced and error-strewn opening few minutes here. Possession changing hands on a regular basis and already a couple of efforts at goal, albeit none which tested either goalkeeper.

It would be easy for me to say that is the result that will kick-start us, but the bottom line is the next game will be the indicator of whether that is the case. We have no fear about going there. We are going there on the back of a very positive win and, if we take those positive aspects into our next game, play in a similar fashion and take our chances when they come, why not?"
