i was very surprised when i heard that USA­ defeated Spain by two goals
i can't believe it,­ it's a shocking news!!!
it's gonna be great if­ South Africa beat Brazil and facing USA in the final­ match

never saw it coming to be completely honest, maybe the­ pressure of breking Brazils 35 match unbeaten run was­ too much for Spain to handle.

Being a "yank" myself, sometimes I am not so­ proud of the USA whether it be in sports, politics, or­ what have you. However, I am extremely proud of the­ USA's efforts against Spain. Albeit with a little­ luck, but when playing the very best you need a little­ luck. Is USA a world beater now? No, but they played­ extremely hard against Spain and on this particular day­ deserved their win for their work, and it gives them­ confidence going into the next game and onto the next­ stage of World Cup qualifying and the World Cup itself.­

Spain won 32 out of their past 35 in their unbeaten­ streak, won EURO 2008, and are deserving of the­ "best team in the world" label. Still. One­ game doesn't change that. Streaks have to come to­ an end sometime, and USA caught Spain on the right day.­

Shame on those who say Spain is a rubbish team­ because they lost to USA in one game. They tied the­ longest unbeaten streak ever, your comments are just­ ridiculous and make no sense. Plus, they do it the­ right way, they play the game the way it is meant to be­ played with the way they get players forward and move­ the ball around.

This wasn't the best overall­ Spanish performance by any means, and despite Xabi­ Alonso being a great player I think the Spanish team is­ better with Marcos Senna in that holding spot. And­ they miss Iniesta on the right who might be world's­ best player, and maybe they should have played Silva­ (who was supposedly fit) on the left over Riera. So­ maybe not an entirely full strength Spain here, but­ still pretty darn close to it.

Spain still had the­ better possession, still created more chances, etc, and­ played a better pure football game than USA. However,­ USA has shown there are more ways than one to skin a­ cat.

I would prefer the USA to play a style more­ like Spain, but you have to have the players do it. ­ USA did the best they could with the players they have,­ and on this particular day it was enough to topp

Problem with USA dicipline though - 4 games played and­ 3 red cards!!!! at least on was dubious however....,
I­ think Spain suffered in this competition as the group­ they were in were all c class or lower teams, yes they­ won them all, but as soon as they came up against a c+­ b class team, they realised they had their work cut­ out. USA had already expierienced 2 of the best sides­ in the world and lost...(and had 2 guys sent off!!?)­ but spain did not scare them.
