    • 90+3' FULL TIME. What a crucial goal from Guerrero to give Peru a deserved victory after Vargas twice hit the woodwork. They move joint top of the group with Chile, while Mexico are rock bottom with zero points.
    • 90+2' The sprightly figure of Dos Santos is ruled offside when collecting the ball in the box but it was a close one.
    • 90' We will have three minutes of injury time.
    • 90' Dos Santos supplies a deep cross to the back post but Araujo's header loops into the hands of Fernandez.
    • 88' Mexico are in big trouble now and they really must score. As things stand, Peru will be joint top with Chile on four points.
    • 86' Josepmir Ballon replaces Lobaton for Peru, while Oribe Morones comes on for Aquino for Mexico.
    • 85' Guerrero again and he is really in the mood now. The striker rifles a shot off target from inside the box.
    • 83' GOAL! Guerrero puts Peru in front! The striker was free at the back post to tap in for his second goal of the tournament.
    • 82' Mexico concede a corner and goalkeeper Michel needs treatment as the ball actually caught him in the face. He is okay though.
    • 80' What a save! Michel flings out an arm to stop Guerrero's header back across goal from sneaking in. That was wonderful.
    • 79' Dos Santos forces Fernandez into a save when trying to find the corner with a curling effort. That was a good, if slightly messy break for Mexico .
    • 77' Michael Guevara replaces Paulo Cruzado for Peru.
    • 76' Superb skill from Enriquez in midfield, reminiscent of Zinedine Zidane in fact, but Mexico's move peters out when Dos Santos fails to control.
    • 76' How are Peru not winning this game? Vargas has hit the woodwork twice and Guerrero has wasted a glorious headed chance. They will kick themselves if they don't win this.
    • 74' Miguel Ponce comes on for his first cap and replaces Chavez in midfield.
    • 73' It is Vargas with the free-kick and he hits the woodwork for the second time! It was a sumptuous curling effort that struck the point where bar meets post. How unlucky.
    • 72' Hector Reynoso commits a foul some 25 yards from goal and Mexico line up a shot.
    • 71' Enriquez is caught by a horrible, horrible tackle from a Peru defender, I missed which one. He flew in recklessly and the Mexico man was lucky to avoid injury.
    • 70' Goalkeeper Michel spills a bouncing shot from range but recovers and avoids paying for the error.
    • 69' Peru are firmly dominating proceedings now and Mexico's young side have faded somewhat, as you might expect given their severe lack of experience.
    • 68' Guerrero flicks the ball on to Vargas when leaping above his marker and the winger doesn't need a second invitation to shoot from just outside the box as he curls a shot into the arms of Michel.
    • 66' Excellent defending from Mexico as an acrobatic hook allows them to clear from a dangerous cross.
    • 65' Substitute Pacheco tries to do just that as he runs 20 yards with the ball and produces a weak effort that dribbles into the hands of Fernandez.
    • 64' Aquino embarks on a promising run, only to see his progress halted. Mexico need to do something to swing the momentum of this match because they appear to be in trouble at present.
    • 62' A waste from Guerrero. He held off a challenge superbly and then with options left and right, opts to blast one over the bar from the edge of the box. He had to pass.
    • 61' Mexico are in all kinds of trouble at the back now. Can Peru capitalise?
    • 60' Now Mexico struggle again and Guerrero wants a penalty when throwing himself to ground. It was a poor attempt to con the ref and it didn't work. Peru well on top now though.
    • 59' Vargas hits the woodwork! The winger dives into the box to collect a neat touch from Guerrero and smacks a low effort against the base of the far post.
    • 59' Ricardo Mier booked for a cynical bodycheck.
    • 58' An interesting attempt from Cruzado as he tries to chip one into the top corner from about 30 yards. It was reminiscent of Fabio Quagliarella's goal at the World Cup for Italy against Slovakia, though nowhere near as good.
    • 57' Vargas attempts to pull the trigger from the left of the box but sees his effort deflected behind. The corner is a dangerous one but Alberto Rodriguez is penalised for a foul. It didn't look that bad at all.
    • 55' Rafael Marquez (not that one) and Chavez attempt to exploit some inattentive defending and win a corner. Yet again, though, a set piece fails. That has been a characteristic of this dull match.
    • 53' Peru goalkeeper Fernandez fumbles the ball behind, and Mexico then win a corner again. Peru clear from a deep delivery from Dos Santos though.
    • 52' The stands appeared to have emptied somewhat following the first game at the stadium today, which is a touch disappointing.
    • 50' A huge chance for Guerrero! The cross came in from the left and the striker was perfectly placed at the back post and he stooped to meet the ball. However, he only succeeded in heading wide. A terrible miss.
    • 49' Well, I'm disappointed to report that this match isn't getting much more interesting, and nor are we seeing many chances. What is wrong with this Copa America?
    • 47' Peru look the more lively side in the opening exchanges of the first half and have a shot blocked on the edge of the box.
    • 46' The second half gets underway.
    • 46' Advincula replaced by Victor Yotun for Chile, while Mexico bring in Edgar Pacheco for Aguilar.
    • 45+1' That first half was largely in keeping with the rest of the tournament: pretty disappointing. Peru had a flurry of chances at the start but failed to capitalise.
    • 45' We will have one added minute in Mendoza.
    • 43' Guerrero attempts to prise open the Mexico defence but is met by a sea of opposition shirts.
    • 41' Peru have struggled to open up the Mexico defence since that early flurry of chances and that will concerncoach Sergio Markarian. Really they need to be winning tonight.
    • 39' Advincula attempts some Matt Le Tissier-esque juggling by the touchline but fails to make any practical use of it.
    • 38' A poor pass from Hector Reynoso is almost exploited by Peru but the defender is fortunate to see his opponents fail to take advantage of the mistake.
    • 37' A cross from the right from Enriquez causes the Peru defence a moment of panic but they clear pretty effectively. No real danger there.
    • 36' You've got to like a team who pass it short from the keeper. Bravo Mexico, keep that up please.
    • 35' Dos Santos darts in from the left but gets the execution wrong when finding himself in the box. Mexico will rely heavily on the little playmaker today.
    • 34' The quality of this game is summed up as Chavez kicks the floor accidentally and falls over.
    • 32' Darvin Chavez gets a cross from the left deflected behind on the stretch to win a corner. Nothing comes of it though.
    • 31' Vargas smacks a low free-kick straight into the wall and that was a disappointing effort from a man who can do better.
    • 29' What a chance! Goalkeeper Raul Fernandez fumbled the ball following a cross from Paul Aguilar and Santiago Acasiete did superbly to block a shot from Javier Aquino. Stunning defending.
    • 27' Vargas is penalised for offside just as he shapes to cross. He has certainly level judging by the replay though. A poor decision.
    • 26' Mexico have certainly upped the pace but the game is lacking a bit of quality all over the pitch in all honesty.
    • 24' Mexico clear with ease again and Giovani Dos Santos charges up the other end of the pitch, where he is dispossessed by the touchline.
    • 23' An excellent exchange of passes from Peru sees them win a sixth corner when Guerrero's shot is blocked.
    • 22' It is worth reiterating that Mexico have entered this competition with a skeleton squad having already played in the Copa America this summer.
    • 20' Guerrero makes the most of a stray arm to win a free-kick for Peru. They try a clever one to Vargas but the pass has too much on it for the Fiorentina man.
    • 19' Mexico have settled into their stride after being in danger of being overwhelmed in the opening 15 minutes. Much more impressive.
    • 18' Javier Aquino is adjudged offside when collecting a neat pass from Jorge Enriquez, who had embarked on a brilliant run, and replays show it to be a harsh decision.
    • 16' I'm pretty sure the brass band is now playing the Simpsons theme tune.
    • 15' A superb cross from Advincula to try and find Guerrero but Ricardo Mier intercepts with a fine challenge. Peru waste their fifth corner of the game.
    • 14' Darvin Chavez wins a corner from Giancarlo Carmona as Mexico get a rare chance to threaten. However, Michel claps a loping header easily.
    • 13' Now Adan Balbin drives one over from range for Peru. They are all over Mexico like a bad rash at the moment.
    • 12' Vargas drives forward once more and delivers a wicked cross that is put behind. Yet another corner fails to produce a decent chance. He needs to improve his set-piece delivery.
    • 11' A promising move comes to nothing as Advincula puts far too much on a pass for Vargas.
    • 10' Vargas swings in another corner but Peru cannot capitalise. Vargas will be a key figure tonight as the Fiorentina man oozes creativity down the left wing.
    • 9' Risky from Peru as they attempt to play it out from the back and they eventually lose possession.
    • 8' There does appear to be a very vocal element of the Peru support cheering their side on with the help of a brass band.
    • 7' Peru of course are no novices having drawn with Uruguay in their opening game, but few would expect them to get through a group that includes Uruguay and Chile. A win today will give them a fantastic chance of doing so.
    • 6' Another superb chance for Peru. Juan Manuel Vargas linked up superbly with Advincula to set Guerrero away, and his low strike was palmed round the post by Luis Michel.
    • 4' Peru fail to make anything from the subsequent corner though. It has been a fine start from them and Mexico look vulnerable.
    • 3' A chance out of nowhere! Carlos Lobaton drives a fierce effort narrowly wide from about 35 yards. Wow.
    • 2' Peru are in their classic River Plate-esque kit. Lovely stuff. And inspired by his neat shirt, Paulo Cruzado blasts a shot wide of the post when he should have squared for Guerrero.
    • 1' Here we go...
    • 01.43 By the way, strangely this game is occurring in the same stadium as the Uruguay v Chile match, in Mendoza. It's like a pre-season tournament or something.
    • 01.40 In all honesty we won't see the same quality as we did in tonight's other game, but perhaps we will finally see some goals in this pig of a competition. Only one match has had three goals so far. It's been a joke!
    • 01.35 Let's recap the group. Chile are top with four points from two games, with Uruguay in second with two from two. Both Peru and Mexico have played once of course, with Peru having one point and Mexico none.
    • 01.30 So who to watch out for tonight? Well, Peru's danger man is striker Paolo Guerrero, who formerly played for Bayern Munich and now represents Hamburg. He will very much be the focus of the Peru attack and expect him to hold the ball up a lot.
    • 01.25 TEAMS: Peru: Libman, Vilchez, Acasiete, Carmona, Rodriguez, Risco, Cruzado, Lobaton, Balbin, Guerrero, Castrillon. /// Mexico: Michel, Aguilar, Alanis, Rosales, Razo, Lopez, Chavez, Carmona, Garcia, Dos Santos, Lugo.
    • 01.20 Mexico are of course under strength because they have opted to basically bring an Under-22 squad having also competed in and won the Gold Cup this summer. They also sent eight players home on the eve of the tournament for disciplinary reasons, but do have some senior players available. The most dangerous will be Giovani Dos Santos, despite his wretched performances at Tottenham.
    • 01.15 Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of the second Copa America game of the day, following Uruguay's 1-1 draw with Chile. Peru secured a fine draw against Uruguay in their first match while an under-strength Mexico were beaten 2-1 by Chile.
