    • Germany
    • 90+3' Neuville breaks free down the centre before poking a right-footed effort wide of the left-hand post. And the final whistle goes! Germany far from convincing, Austria commendably determined, but it's the Germans who go through to face Portugal in the last eight.
    • 90+2' Germany make a final change, with Tim Borowski coming on for the hard-working Clemens Fritz.
    • 90+1' Frings curls a low right-footer narrowly wide of the right-hand upright from just outside the box.
    • 90' There will be three minutes of injury time.
    • 89' Frings threads a pass through to Klose just inside the Austrian box, but Macho produces another good save to beat his shot away!
    • 87' Saumel puts a low shot straight at Lehmann from distance.
    • 86' Metzelder gets up well to head away a deep free-kick from Pogatetz on the edge of the German box.
    • 85' A goal for Austria here would make for a very interesting last five minutes indeed. Germany standing firm at the moment though.
    • 83' Austria go close! Hoffer spins in the box before lashing a left-footer wide of the left-hand post!
    • 82' Chance for Austria! Ivanschitz darts into the German box but Lahm produces a superb challenge to toe the ball over the bar! Ivanschitz's subsequent corner from the left is cleared. And now for another German change, with veteran striker Oliver Neuville replacing Lukas Podolski.
    • 80' Macho saves again! Frings's corner from the German left flicks off a defender at the near post and Macho does well to punch the ball away!
    • 79' Good save Macho! The Austria keeper races from his line to save at the feet of Klose, and gets a whack in the midriff for his efforts.
    • 78' A long ball forward from Stranzl bounces out of play on the Austria right for a Germany goal kick. Can't see a way back into this for Austria at the moment.
    • 76' Korkmaz's cross-cum-shot from the right drifts across the face of goal and wide for a goal kick.
    • 75' Leitgeb cuts inside onto his left foot before firing in a shot that's diverted over the crossbar by Mertesacker.
    • 74' Stranzl is penalised for a foul on Lehmann from the resulting corner, before Klose thrashes a shot well wide of the right-hand post at the other end.
    • 73' Garics wins a corner on the Austria left. Ivanschitz swings it in and Kienast deflects the ball over the bar with his shoulder but a corner is awarded!
    • 71' Austria win a free-kick in a central position, about 35 yards from goal. Fuchs runs up and drives the ball low into the wall.
    • 70' Podolski runs into Stranzl on the German left, the ball breaks for Hitzlsperger and he cracks a left-footer well over the bar from distance.
    • 68' Kienast is superbly denied by a block from Mertesacker, before guiding a header wide of the left-hand post from about 12 yards a few moments later.
    • 67' A third and final change for Austria: Roman Kienast comes on for Martin Harnik. Frings's corner from the left is punched away by Macho.
    • 66' Podolski finds Klose inside the Austrian box, and his shot is brilliantly blocked at full stretch by Pogatetz!
    • 65' Garics's high cross from the Austrian right is confidently claimed by Lehmann.
    • 63' Austria make a second substitution. Jurgen Saumel replaces Rene Aufhauser.
    • 62' Harnik shanks a woeful cross way over the bar from wide on the Austrian right.
    • 60' Germany make a substitution, with the disappointing Gomez being replaced by former Aston Villa man Thomas Hitzlsperger. Hitzlsperger goes to the left flank, Podolski moves up front alongside Klose.
    • 59' Ivanschitz puts a shot straight at Lehmann from a central position.
    • 58' Podolski's free-kick is headed into the air at the near post by Fuchs and claimed at the back post by Macho.

    • 53' Ivanschitz's half-volley from just outside the German box is blocked by Mertesacker.
    • 52' Great play from Lahm! The little full-back drives in from the left before sending a low right-footed effort wide of the left-hand post.
    • 50' Ivanschitz, who's just been booked, catches Fritz with a late challenge, but the ref didn't appear to see it. Lucky boy.
    • 49' GOAL! 1-0 Germany! Ballack steps up and cracks an absolute screamer into the top-right corner from almost 30 yards! Brilliant goal from the German skipper. The quarter-finals are in sight!
    • 48' Lahm surges infield from the German left before being upended by Ivanschitz, who is booked. Free-kick to Germany within shooting distance.
    • 47' Fritz can't get on the end of a pass down the German right, which Fuchs shepherds behind for a goal kick.
    • 46' The second half begins. No changes to report at the break. There's an early sight of goal for Austria, as Hoffer seizes on a loose ball before heading for goal, but he hesitates on the edge of the box and allows Mertesacker to dispossess him.
    • 45+2' And there ends a strangely muted first half. Germany have had most of the ball, but Austria will be delighted with their first-half showing. Still, the Germans are on course for the last eight.
    • 45+1' Podolski is called on to clear a cross from the Austria left.
    • 45' There will be two minutes of stoppage time.
    • 44' Frings dinks an aimless cross into the Austrian box that bounces behind for a goal kick. They're certainly missing something when they go forward, Germany.
    • 42' Fritz goes down on the edge of the Austrian box after being fairly tackled by Stranzl, and no free-kick is given.
    • 41' Korkmaz gets away from Ballack down the Austrian inside-left channel before firing a left-footed effort well over the bar. And then referee Manuel Enrique Mejuto Gonzalez sends Austrian coach Josef Hickersberger AND his German counterpart Joachim Low to the stands for arguing with the fourth official on the touchline! A quite comical scene.
    • 38' Korkmaz's cross from the Austria right is flicked away by Ballack.
    • 37' Lahm curls a cross into Macho's arms from the German left.
    • 36' Korkmaz spins away from his man on the right before drilling in a right-footed cross that Fuchs heads well over the crossbar.
    • 35' Garics does well to shepherd a through-ball back to his goal-keeper under pressure from Podolski.
    • 34' Frings curls the ball in and Klose gets up well about 15 yards from goal but directs his header comfortably wide of the right-hand post.
    • 33' Fritz wins a corner on the German right.
    • 32' Klose nods down Lahm's left-wing cross at the back post but Gomez can't get on the end of it.
    • 31' Hoffer is yellow carded for a late challenge on Ballack on halfway.
    • 30' Gomez wins a corner off Pogatetz on the Germany right. Podolski swings the ball in and Macho punches clear.
    • 29' Hoffer concedes a free-kick for tugging Podolski to the ground inside the German half.
    • 28' There's been little cohesion to the Germans' attacking play so far, and you can sense Austria growing in confidence.
    • 26' Podolski goes down clutching his face after an altercation with Aufhauser, and Frings kicks the ball out of play. The ref has a stern word with both, and allows play to continue. But replays show that Aufhauser reached out and slapped Podolski in the face, with no apparent provocation at all! UEFA may be interested to see the footage of that...
    • 24' Austria are making a game of this so far, which is to their credit.
    • 23' Podolski drives a low left-footed shot towards goal from 25 yards and Macho produces a good save to it round the right-hand post!
    • 22' Aufhauser is penalised for a messy challenge from behind on Podolski.
    • 20' Good save Lehmann! Aufhauser cracks in a low shot from 30 yards out and Lehmann dives to his right to turn it round the post. Looked to be going wide anyway. Ivanschitz's corner is headed away.
    • 19' Opportunity for Hoffer! He picks up a cross from the right inside the penalty area but the ball squirts off his foot and Lehmann rushes out to smother the danger!
    • 18' Harnik's low cross from the Austria right is cleared by Mertesacker on the edge of the six-yard box.
    • 17' Penalty shout for Austria! Hoffer tangles with Christoph Metzelder inside the German box and goes down, but the ref says play on. In fairness to Hoffer, he didn't appeal for it.
    • 16' Stranzl looks for Harnik down the Austria right but the pass is overhit and runs behind for a goal kick.
    • 15' Harnik wins a corner on the Austrian right. Andreas Ivanschitz bends it in left-footed, and Per Mertesacker heads it clear.
    • 14' Gomez finds Lukas Podolski on the edge of the Austria box, and his half-volley is blocked at close range by Hiden.
    • 13' Stranzl goes into the book after catching Klose on the halfway line. Contact was minimal, and Austria coach Josef Hickersberger is unimpressed.
    • 12' Ballack plays a cross towards the Austrian box from the German left, Hiden volleys it clear. Torsten Frings is then penalised for a foul on Harnik, who goes down very easily indeed.
    • 11' Michael Ballack wins a free-kick in midfield after being caught by Rene Aufhauser.
    • 10' Harnik motors into space down the Austrian right flank but runs out of ideas and concedes possession quite tamely.
    • 9' Friedrich gets free from Emanuel Pogatetz down the German right before bending a low right-footed cross right across the front of goal!
    • 8' Austria starting to see a bit of the ball for the first time.
    • 7' Gomez latches onto a through-ball down the German inside-left channel and puts a weak cross-cum-shot straight at Jurgen Macho in the Austrian goal. That miss will take some forgetting.
    • 5' What an extraordinary miss from Gomez! Klose beats Hiden on the German right before sliding in a low cross, and from barely two yards out and with an open goal to aim at he allows the ball to strike his right foot and loop into the air, with Gyorgy Garics heading it off the line! That is one of the worst misses you are ever likely to see.
    • 4' Martin Stranzl produces a strong challenge on the edge of the Austrian box to deny Gomez. And then Hoffer gets round the back on the Austrian left, but puts his cross straight at Lehmann.
    • 3' Hoffer looks to get on the end of a long ball down the centre, but Jens Lehmann races from his line to clear!
    • 2' Fuchs is penalised for a foul from behind on Fritz in midfield.
    • 1' Off we go! Austria kick off, and they will attack from left to right in the first half. Umit Korkmaz - so impressive in the first two games - looks to make an inroad down the Austrian left, but Fritz manages to hustle him off the ball.
    • 19:44 The anthems are out of the way, and we're ready to roll. The quarter-finals beckon...
    • 19:42 Manuel Enrique Mejuto Gonzalez of Spain is our referee this evening, and he leads the teams out of the tunnel and into this 53,000-seater stadium that is crammed with Austrian fans. It's a mild, sunny evening in Vienna. The teams - Austria in red shirts, white shorts and red socks, Germany in white shirts, black shorts and white socks - are roared onto the pitch.
    • 19:35 There's been lots of talk in the past few days about Austria summoning 'The Spirit of Cordoba' - a reference to a famous 3-2 victory over reigning champions West Germany at the 1978 World Cup in Cordoba, Argentina that knocked the Germans out of the tournament. A similar outcome tonight would be every bit as unexpected and just as big a shock.
    • 19:30 AUSTRIA TEAM NEWS: Austria make three changes following their dramatic 1-1 draw against Poland, with Martin Hiden, Christian Fuchs and Erwin Hoffer coming in for Sebastian Prodl, who's suspended, Christian Leitgeb and Roland Linz.
    • 19:20 GERMANY TEAM NEWS: Joachim Low makes one change to the side that lost 2-1 to Croatia, with Arne Friedrich coming in at right-back in place of the injured Marcell Jansen. Philipp Lahn switches from right-back to left-back. Mario Gomez keeps his place up front alongside Miroslav Klose, despite turning in two indifferent performances in the games so far. Bastian Schweinsteiger is suspended following his late red card against the Croats.
    • 19:15 Good evening and welcome to eurosport.yahoo.co.uk's LIVE coverage of this crucial Group B clash between Austria and Germany from the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. A draw will be enough to take Germany through to the quarter-finals, but Austria can progress if they win and Poland fail to beat already-qualified Croatia. The maths get a bit fiddly if Austria and Poland both win, but Austria's goal difference would give them the edge. Kick-off is at 19:45 BST.
