83' Roger on the right again, great play to beat Lahm and he swings a cross over that comes off the back of a Germany player and a superb save from Lehmann and Saganowski flies in but Lehmann claims again!- 79' Hitzelsperger with a good piece of control on the left, takes the ball down and sends a deep cross for SCHWEINSTEIGER FLYING IN FOR THE VOLLEY but Krzynowek gets in ahead of him to put it out for a corner.
- 77' Great ball wide left by Podolski to Klose, he sends a clever far post ball for Frings running in but it's just too far too head, he gets a chest on it but the ball runs out for a goal kick.

72' Germany attack again, one-two with Frings and Ballack, the ball is played through and Poland leave it, Golanski mis-controls and allows Schweinsteiger on the right is free and he slips it to KLOSE who tries a shot but totally mis-hits it AND IT DROPS TO PODOLSKI WHO PUTS HIS BOOT THROUGH IT FOR 2-0! That's it, Germany get off to a flyer and former Pole Podolski has a brace. A muted celebration from the Bayern Munich man again.- 71' Krzynowek on the right, he cuts inside and sends a low drive on goal but it's straight at Lehmann.
- 70' Great play again by Germany, Frings slides it to Lahm on the right wing, he pings it low TO BALLACK JUST INSIDE THE AREA WITH A ROCKET INTO THE TOP RIGHT BUT A BRILLIANT SAVE BY BORUC! Great stop by the Celtic keeper to tip it over for a corner.
- 68' Roger plays in Piszczek, who takes on the Germany defenders and wins a corner off Metzelder. Lehmann claims, Germany clear and Wasilewski almost lets Podolski in but nodded back to Boruc.
- 67' Schweinsteiger tries a low drive from distance but comfortable for Boruc.

- 37' Fritz gets in behind the left back, he's free on the right and knocks it back across goal AND GOMEZ WITH THE FINISH but he drags it wide AND KLOSE TRIES TO BACKHEEL IT IN ON THE WAY but he misses it!
- 35' Great spell of pressure from Poland sees Jansen dive in, Lobodzinski drills in a cross and ZURAWSKI but he messes up the finish, dragging it inches wide of the far post when he should have scored! What a chance. Germany have an Achilles heel and it's Marcel Jansen.
- 32' Podolski almost gets in again but Boruc dives out desperately to claim. His movement is causing all kinds of problems for Poland.
- 31' Frings looks for Gomez, who goes down in the box, but he was offside.
- 30' Free-kick to Germany some five or ten yards outside the area, Ballack to take. He hammers it on goal but it hits the wall, they're asking for handball but no way, Golanski had no chance of getting out of the way.
- 28' Poland come forward and Lobodzinski gets in space given by Jansen to put the cross in but held at the near post by Lehmann.

- 19' Poland try to squeeze the ball through the middle but Germany are organised at the back and can play it out.
- 17' The second corner is cleared but it's back on the right with Podolski who swings a cross over and it's nodded down to Metzelder but he's offside.
- 16' Podolski to take, he swings it far post where Metzelder flies in but headed behind by the defender for a corner.
- 15' Good play by Lahm on the right, who beats his man and drills in a low cross which is cleared but the assistant flags because Krzynowek was tugging his shirt, free-kick on the right wing...
- 12' Great cross comes in from the left by Jansen and Podolski flies in but punched clear by Boruc! Good stuff from Germany now, who are starting to knock it about nicely.
- 10' Fritz writhes around like he's suffering a fit, another dive seconds later from Klose is ignored by the ref. I thought there was supposed to be a clampdown on such histrionics?
- 9' Good play by Poland as Krzynowek puts it through but well-shepherded by Metzelder.
- 7' Fritz is played through on the right but he checks his run thinking he was offside - not sure that he was though!
- 4' The ball is slid through to Klose, he's clean through after the Poles stepped up to play Gomez offside, he must score but he squares it for some reason and it's well ahead of Gomez who cannot poke it home! It wouldn't have counted anyway as Gomez had become active, but why on earth didn't Klose score himself? Bizarre.
- 2' Poland come forward and Lehmann makes a pig's ear of dealing with the cross as he collides with his own players and it falls to Krzynowek who shoots but it flies well over!
