    • AS Roma
    • Fulham
    • 90'+2 There goes the final whistle and Roma take all three points, leaving Fulham with it all to do to qualify.
    • 90' It's another red card for Fulham! Koncheskey dives into a tackle on Taddei and again the ref produces a straight red. That one was very harsh as well.
    • 89' Menez turns on the edge of the box but curls his shot high and wide.
    • 88' There's pandemonium in the Roma box as Bobby Zamora goes over and in the ensuing scramble Chris Baird has a shot blocked and Hangeland can't force the ball home.
    • 86' Okaka almost increases Roma's lead with an acrobatic volleyed effort from the edge of the box that Schwarzer does well to save.
    • 84' Roma are seeing this game out in typical Italian fashion, keeping the ball and not over committing.
    • 82' Fulham have a freekick on the left and Konchesky whips it into the box but Roma manage to clear.
    • 80' Okaka has the ball in the corner and feeds it back to Riise as Roma play the ball around and Fulham are forced to chase shadows.
    • 77' Fulham are in disarray now and Roma have a good oportunity to increase their lead as Menez has a shot cleared off the line by Hughes after Schwarzer came for a cross and failed to punch clear.
    • 75' Goal for Roma! Okaka heads home a cross from the right from Taddei... a well-worked goal that really is tough on Fulham.
    • 74' Roma are playing keep-ball in midfield as Fulham hang on for dear life.
    • 70' Bobby Zamora is on for Bjorn Arne Risse as De Rossi is booked for appealing a goal-kick decision.
    • 69' In fairness, that goal has been coming but the way in which it arrived was cruel for Fulham.
    • 68' Goal for Roma! John Arne Riise fires in a shot from the edge of the area that deflects off two Fulham players and into the back of the net.
    • 67' Greening, who is on a yellow card, almost becomes Fulham's second sending off after a trip in midfield. This time the ref shows some leniency.
    • 66' Roma have made another change with Jeremy Menez coming on for Guberti.
    • 64' Taddei has a shot from the edge of the box that deflects off Konchesky and behind for a corner.
    • 63' Ironic cheers ring around the stadium as Okaka is penalised for a foul on Pantsil.
    • 62' Taddei dribbles down the right but his cross cannons off a Fulham defender. Roma regain possession and Baptista has a shot that ricochets off a Fulham man and behind for a corner.
    • 60' Cassetti crosses deep but Schwarzer is out to claim and relieve the pressure that is building up on the visitors.
    • 58' The Fulham fans in the stadium are venting their frustration at the referee with an all-too familiar and not too pleasant chant about his personal habits!
    • 57' Fulham have a rare break as Riise charges upfield and feeds Dempsey who is felled in the box by Andreolli. The ref is not interested though and waves play-on.
    • 55' This is very much one-way traffic now. The sending of has totally changed the complexion of the game.
    • 54' Having now seen the Nevland sending off on a replay, it wasn't a great challenge and was late and from behind. But it was only worth a booking in my opinion.
    • 53' Cassetti heads wide at the far post from a cross from the left by Pizarro.
    • 52' Baptista gets on the end of a long ball to the far post but can't angle his volley back across goal.
    • 51' Guberti dribbles to the by-line but Pantsil gets back to make a challenge and put it behind.
    • 49' I can barely get over that decision! But in the meantime Taddei has had a shot from distance that has flown over.
    • 48' Nevland is sent off! He clips De Rossi from behind and the ref sends him off. That is one of the worst decisions I have ever seen.
    • 47' They were three half-time changes - Roma replaced keeper Doni with Julio Sergio and Cicinho with Rodrigo Taddei while Fulham have replaced goalscorer Kamara with Erik Nevland.
    • 46' And we are underway again in Rome...
    • 45' It's half-time at the Stadio Olimpico where it is 1-0 to Fulham.
    • 44' Roma keeper Doni goes down holding his leg after clearing a ball upfield... the Italians won't want to lose their keeper at this stage.
    • 42' Gera rolls in Dempsey who manages to get a shot in ahead of Andreolli that flashes across goal and wide. The defender got a touch on it though and it's a corner.
    • 41' Roma appeal for a handball as a shot from De Rossi hits Pantsil on the arm and bounces wide. The referee says no penalty and gives a corner.
    • 39' Andreolli makes a crucial tacklea s Clint Dempsey was heading for goal... it was exceptionally well-timed given he probably would have been sent off had he missed it.
    • 38' Pizarro has a goal-bound shot for Roma from the edge of the area but it hits his own man Okaka and bounces to safety.
    • 36' Kamara heads a good chance wide for Fulham! The striker is left completely unmarked at the far post and gets on the end of a glorious deep cross from Konchesky but heads harmlessly wide.
    • 35' Julio Baptista almost gets on the end of a long ball humped into the Fulham box, but he just can't get the ball under control and Hangeland gets back to dispossess him.
    • 33' Greening finds his way into the book for a late tackle... looked a little harsh that one for me.
    • 32' Fulham's Riise disposses Cassetti and plays a deep cross that Roma just maanage to clear.
    • 31' Baptista tries an acrobatic over-head kick but it is well wide of Schwarzer's goal.
    • 30' A great Fulham passing move ends with Clint Dempsey bearing down on goal but he takes too long and cuts back onto his right foot and the chance goes begging.
    • 29' Roy Hodgson, on the other hand, is giving his players the thumbs up as Dempsey is narrowly caught offside.
    • 27' Roma boss Ranieri looks a little troubled on the touchline. The former Chelsea man is going to have get a little more out of his players though if they are going to turn this around.
    • 26' Roma seem to be slowly getting on top now... Fulham don't want to try anm sit back and defend their lead this early on.
    • 25' Dempsey is absolutely clobbered by Roma keeper Doni as he looked to get on the end of a freekick into the area and somehow the ref awards a foul against the Fulham man.
    • 23' Roma are inches away from equalising! Cicinho plays a delightful curling cross into the area that Mexes gets his head to, but directs his effot just wide of Scwarzer's post.
    • 22' Cicinho goes down under a challenge from Greening and he looks in a little discomfort. Freekick to Roma that Pizzaro wildly overhits to hand possession back to the visitors.
    • 21' Mexes gives the ball away to Riise who shows quick feet to break down the left.
    • 19' Whatever the problem was with Kamara before, it seems to have gone away now... The onus is on Roma now to take the game to Fulham.
    • 18' Goal for Fulham! Kamara picks himself up off the deck and calmly slots the penalty to the keeper's right.
    • 17' Penalty for Fulham! Dempsey feeds Kamara in the area and he is felled by Marco Andreolli.
    • 16' Dempsey tries a shot from 25 yards but it's a bit of a dolly and bounces twice before keeper Doni collects with ease.
    • 15' Pizarro finds Gulberti who tries his luck with a shot from the edge of the area that's charged down.
    • 14' Kamara is hobling around a little bit and could be replaced with Nevland warming up on the touchline.
    • 12' Roma threaten down the left as Gulberti jinks into the area and puts a low cross into the six-yard box which is cut-out by Aaron Hughes.
    • 11' Mexes cooly plays the ball of Dempsey and behind for a goal-kick... you couldn't get two more different styles of player if you looked for a long time.
    • 10' Pizarro is fouled by Dempsey in midfield; the contact was minimal but the Italian needed no second invitation to hit the deck.
    • 8' Riise has a half chance for Fulham, but his shot from the edge of the area is charged down by De Rossi at the end of a good passing move from the Cottagers.
    • 7' Pantsil is forced to play a long ball behind for a corner with Guberti lurking over his shoulder.
    • 6' And again Hangeland gets back, after initially being outpaced by Baptista, to dispossess the former Arsenal man near the corner flag.
    • 5' De Rossi tries to release Baptista with a long ball over the top, but Hangeland gets back and shows his strength to hold off 'The Beast'.
    • 4' Greening plays it in to Kamara who turns smartly and and tries to feed Dempsey through the middle, but the pass is a little astray of its intended target.
    • 3' Dempsey tries to feed Fulham's Riise down the left but his touch is a little heavy and it's behind for a goal-kick.
    • 2' Fulham have some early possession in the Roma half... they certainly don't daunted by the occasion.
    • 1' And we are underway in Rome...
    • - Right, the handshakes are done and the players are all set for kick-off here at the Stadio Olimpico.
    • - The last time these two teams met it ended 1-1, with Roma's Marco Andreolli grabbing a very late goal to level the match.
    • - Both teams are without their captains this evening and I may be over-egging it to say they will be equally missed. Roma are, of course, without club legend Francesco Totti, while Fulham are deprived of the services of Danny Murphy.
    • - Both teams come into the game in buoyant mood having claimed wins at the weekend. Roma overcame Bologna while Fulham pulled off a stunning victory over Liverpool.
    • - So, just to get you in the mood, here's a bit of background to tonight's game.
    • - And here's the Roma team: Doni, Cassetti, Mexes, Andreolli, Riise, Cicinho, Pizarro, De Rossi, Guberti, Okaka Chuka, Julio Baptista. Subs: Bertagnoli, Taddei, Motta, Perrotta, Cerci, Brighi, Menez
    • - The teams are in and here's how Fulham line-up: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Riise, Etuhu, Greening, Gera, Kamara, Dempsey. Subs: Stockdale, Baird, Nevland, Zamora, Smalling, Davies, Anderson.

  1. gary b....one question,,,why did these native britains not fight off the romans then instead of being SLAVES for 500 years if they were so brave....as i recall a woman was fighting for you and america had not been discovered,so they could not bail you out the s*** that time.....ha ha ha

From the truth, on Fri 6 Nov 7:03PM
  2. I aint a roma supporter but am italian hence I can't stand this hate agaist us and I reckon badly judging people by stereotypes, I dislike who generalizes into every context. I wanna specify that I like Uk by whatever belongs from it and probably that makes me different by most of all my fellow citizens, so I think it's not fair having this reasoning: italians = cheats for what I said above. For who typed about mussolini and berlusconi well I have to agree, first one was a just fascint c@nt all fascists are w@n//rs, mussolini was a pointless coward man the democratic honest part of Italy suffered his choices but they killed him in 1945 at least, if you reckon that the Spain had franco till the half of '70 that's even worse. berlusconi instead is only the biggest cheat ever, now in italy he acts like an onwer without any chance to stop him it makes me f@k/n sick, but a few italians keep on voting his party hence they deserve to get that sad c@nt. So I wouldn't to work away far from italy.

From Nick, on Fri 6 Nov 12:41PM
  3. The biggest cheats are the English in club level, (but not Fulham) Man Utd, Chelsea and few more are dirty as s..t :(

    From marti1700, on Fri 6 Nov 2:33AM
  4. the truth - you seem to forget as soon as the saxons attempted to invade England all the Romans ran away with there skirts up in there air without a fight, it was left to us Native Britons to fight them off and we did.

From Gary B, on Fri 6 Nov 1:28AM
  5. im not english....italians are CHEATS!!!!

  8. Night night little chrissy. Go and find some men to stab in the bum. It's o.k, 3 hail mary's and God will forgive you. So bloody funny! Learn to spell as well...................

  9. Italians have been cheats and whimps for years and years now, everyone knows that , so stop moaning you foreign tw at s

From norman, on Thu 5 Nov 9:22PM
  10. Hahahah stupid prik, cry about being cheated if you want. Any tackle from behind is automatic sent off, but you would know about tackles from behind would'nt you Malcolm....

Roma had serveral decisions against them, Fulhams defender handballed in box and should of been a penalty for Roma - not given. Dempsey diving on several occassions gets away with it. Because you get beat and your team played awful all of a sudden Italy and Roma are cheats??? Get to f uck

  12. Anyway, back to football. I am very proud of the way my wonderful team played against 12 men today. We were cheated, but one expects that in Italy be it boxing, football or tiddlywinks. Goodnight, lol

From malcolm, on Thu 5 Nov 9:03PM
  13. Call Italy cheats or some other made up stereotype expect worse back. I am physically trying not to type hateful comments even though I could think of a fair few about you english sad acts.

We have won world cups and other tournaments fairly with MUCH more natural talent compared to you english. We have and always will be dominant in the world of football alongside Brazil.

    From chrisitalia90, on Thu 5 Nov 9:02PM
  14. I will talk to you about any part of history you like'truthie'. I think there is more of a relevance in the week of' Remembrance day to mention events that took place in the last 60 years. Thank God we were never a nation of swastika wielding nazis assisted by 'priests' with machine guns.

  16. why cant you have a discusion with an englander without them going on about the war....you are laughable...if you want to talk about and live in the past..fine lets go back further to when the romans COLONISED your little island sh*****d your women and drank your beer for 500 YEARS....oh but you dont want to talk about that do you malcom

From the truth, on Thu 5 Nov 8:51PM
  17. 'The Truth' Ha ha ha. If you weren't quite so tragically stupid you might be just a little amusing.

So "the english are world renowned(sic)" for being gay. You really are an idiot aren't you. As for America and Russia won the war, have you studied any history at all? I doubt it, at best that is a gross oversimplification. Furthermore, someone has already pointed out to you that the word is delusion with an 'e' and one 'l'. I wouldn't normally pick holes in someone's spelling but you didn't present a view or argument actually worth debating so you left me no choice.

From philjama, on Thu 5 Nov 8:50PM
  18. No thanks to the fleeing Italians who showed the 'loyalty' in their nature by changing sides twice. Nice art galleries and sculptures, but mussolini, berlusconi, I rest my case, And the vatican, the most corrupt organisation on the face of the earth.

From malcolm, on Thu 5 Nov 8:49PM
  19. #100 they were still nothing tackles and weren't red card offences so the feelngs the same.

From john g, on Thu 5 Nov 8:46PM
  20. Some on here were questioning English club ownership. Wasn't the fascist mussolini a patron of roma?
