    • AEK Athinai
    • - It's all over and a comfortable win for Everton!
    • 90+2' RED CARD!! And it's for Saha! He appears to strike out at Juanfran in the AEK box and that's a straight red for Saha!
    • 90' Three minutes of added time will be played.
    • 89' CHANCE! Blanco again for AEK, but that shot is straight at Howard. Should have done better there.
    • 86' Just playing out time here at Goodison Park, as Juanfran cops another one in the face - this time from Saha.
    • 84' Fair play to the AEK fans, who are shirtless and really singing their hearts out in the away end despite getting comfortably beaten. They don't look like grabbing a consolation either it must be said.
    • 82' GOAL!!! Jo gets on the scoresheet! The ball cokes in from Yakubu and when the defender doesn't clear Jo turns and fires past Saja to make it 4-0 Everton!
    • 79' CHANCE! Bad miss from Saha! Baines is the man who delivers the ball near post and all Saha has to do is slot it home, but he skies it! Great chance missed.
    • 78' CHANCE! For AEK and Blanco is the man who just doesn't get his feet sorted out and is challenged by Yobo. The shot goes wide.
    • 76' Confusion here, as about three officials try and make one decision and the end result is.... a drop ball.
    • 75' Leonardo is the man who was replaced by Yahaya for the record, as Juanfran goes down in a challenge with Osman.
    • 74' Saja comes to collect a cross, but spills it under pressure from Osman. Free kick is the verdict as we see the AEK fans having a ball in the away end. They don't seem too bothered that they are losing. Good to see.
    • 72' Seidou Yahaya comes on for AEK Athens. Not too sure who's gone off, but will update that soon.
    • 70' PENALTY APPEAL! Baines goes down right in front of the new assistant referee, who clearly gives nothing, so no penalty for Everton there.
    • 67' Pienaar goes off to be replaced by Saha.
    • 67' Osman with the chance now as Juanfran gives it to him after a challenge with Yakubu. Osman's under pressure and the shot squirms wide!
    • 65' Baines and Pienaar link up again and Rodwell has the shot, which is a good one, but saved by Saja diving to his right!
    • 65' Kafes is booked for moaning at the ref, as Everton pile on the pressure.
    • 64' Cleared by Juanfran and Osman loses out, but the ball falls for Jo in the area and his turn and shot goes wide in the end.
    • 63' No joy from the corner for Everton, but they have another one now..
    • 62' CHANCE! Jo and Yakubu set up Pienaar, who has the shot! It wasn't the hardest shot in the world, but the keeper has to tip it round the post.
    • 61' Rodwell sets up Baines, who links with Pienaar. Baines gets it back and puts the cross in, but it hits an AEK man and they get it clear.
    • 58' Yakubu on the break for Everton and he was bearing down on goal, but the challenge from Arce is a good one.
    • 57' Things going from bad to worse for AEK after that sending off and a comfortable evening for Everton looks simple now, but it's AEK on the ball at the moment.
    • 55' RED CARD! And that's for Araujo after a clash with Distin. The AEK man flicks out his leg after a challenge and catches Distin in a very painful area!
    • 53' Bilyaletdinov has an ice pack on his groin on the bench there, so looks like an injury for him, as Everton go 4-4-2.
    • 52' Bilyaletdinov goes off and indeed it is Yakubu who comes on.
    • 50' The delivery isn't great though and Distin boots clear, as Everton prepare Yakubu to come on.
    • 49' Pienaar penalised for a foul and AEK have a chance to get the ball forward.
    • - Somewhat strangely AEK have subbed their sub Nsaliwa and brought on Manduca.
    • 48' AEK try and build an attack there, but it breaks down on the edge of the penalty area.
    • 46' Underway in the second half and Cahill has been replaced by Leon Osman.
    • - Fellaini tries the shot and that is blocked by the defender as Everton seek a fourth here. That's the last of the first half action, back soon.
    • 45' Two minutes of injury time at the end of the first half being played now.
    • 44' Baines trying to get into the area down the left wing, but Araujo defends the situation well.
    • 43' Pienaar tries to play Bilyaletdinov in, but the Russian wasn't quite on the same wavelength there.
    • 40' Five minutes left in the half and it could be a cricket score if Everton keep playing like this. Meanwhile, Cahill booked for another foul on Leonardo.
    • 37' GOAL!! What a strike from Pienaar!! Great shot from about 25 yards out with his right foot and that's right in the corner!!
    • 34' Everton on the attack again and the shot comes in this time from Bilyaletdinov from the right. It goes just wide.
    • 31' CHANCE! Long ball forward from Distin and Jo beats Arce to the header and that's not far wide!
    • 30' First time shot from Nsaliwa for AEK there and that one flies not too far over the bar!
    • 28' Bilyaletdinov causing AEK all sorts of problems with his crosses and another one there that AEK are at full stretch to clear.
    • 27' AEK very suspect on corners so far, but this time Distin penalised for a foul.
    • 26' Jo finds space for the shot on the edge of the area and that's well blocked for a corner.
    • 25' Another AEK player goes down injured. This time Leonardo on the deck after a clash with Cahill.
    • 24' Bilyaletdinov with it again and this time Jo with the backward header that just loops over the bar!
    • 23' Free kick to Everton in a good position as Pienaar goes down...
    • 22' Another chance for AEK and this time it's Leonardo who has the chance, but the ball comes at him very quickly and he can't control it.
    • 21' CHANCE! For AEK this time and it's Kafes, who hits a great shot from distance, but it goes narrowly wide. Howard was beaten there.
    • 19' Everton totally dominant in the early stages here and deserve their two-goal lead. They're looking for more though and Baines almost linking up with Jo in the area there.
    • - One of the extra assistant refs gave that corner, so David Moyes has to be pleased about that!
    • 17' GOAL!!! The corner comes in and there's a couple of deflections and it falls at the back post to Distin, who pokes the ball in from close range!!
    • 16' Gosling earns a corner for Everton..
    • 15' Good defending there from Distin, who tidies up before giving the ball to Jo. Impressive start from the home side.
    • 13' Yes, Geraldo does go off eventually and Nsaliwa is the man to replace him.
    • 11' Geraldo comes back on, but immediately goes down again and he looks to be going off.
    • 10' GOAL!! From the resulting corner Yobo heads home at the back post! Dreadful marking from AEK, who didn't pick Yobo up and the keeper didn't cover himself in glory there either!
    • 9' Pienaar has the shot from just outside the area and the keeper has to tip that round the post!!
    • 8' Geraldo goes down injured for AEK in a challange with Jo. Looks like the ankle.
    • 7' Fellaini almost gets his head - or hair at least - to a right wing cross, but AEK get it clear.
    • 5' Good early attacking intent from Everton here. They've had all of the possession so far and Baines puts the ball into the box, but it's cleared.
    • 3' Pienaar tries to get things moving for Everton down the right and when the ball switches to the other flank the move breaks down.
    • 1' We're underway at Goodison and they go on the attack straight away, but that's halted by the ref for a foul.
    • - The teams are lining up and we'll be underway very shortly at Goodison!
    • - Everton: Howard, Gosling, Yobo, Distin, Baines, Pienaar, Cahill, Rodwell, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Jo; Subs: Nash, Saha, Osman, Yakubu, Baxter, Wallace, Mustafi
    • - AEK Athens: Sebastian Saja, Jahic, Arce, Geraldo, Araujo, Juanfran, Makos, Kafes, Scocco, Leonardo, Blanco Subs: Arampatzis, Hersi, Nsaliwa, Manduca, Yahaya, Nemeth, Georgeas
    • - Toffees boss David Moyes really isn't sure about the extra refs on show in the Europa League, not out of some old-fashioned principle but because no-one has told the clubs anything about it.
    • - Everton boss David Moyes might give Diniyar Bilyaletdinov his full debut tonight. "Billy will get his opportunity, but he is finding the speed of the game a little hard," Moyes said of the winger. "But maybe a European match is the sort of game to give him his first start." More team news here!

  4. I didn't watch this game but form reading comments from below I understand that it was a great game with great atmosphere. This is how football should be and ppl should appreciate it. I don't hate Everton and I really don't understand the need to insult us all the time. If some of you might think what attracted me to this page, I was just looking if our youngster K.Nemeth on loan at AEK were playing.

I am not an Everton supporter BUT I like the team for 3 reasons: 1-Rooney, 2-It's the arch-enemy of the annoyingly big mouthed Liverpool, 3- It plays nice football without false claims as being the best in the EPL or in the world (again like Liverpool). 4- It's gonna beat Liverpool when they meet next.
