Goals from Shola Ameobi, Papiss Cisse and an own-goal from Henrique helped Newcastle cruise to a 3-0 Europa League victory over Bordeaux. More
88' Needlessly Perch earns himself a yellow card for a late challenge on N'Guemo. Will that booking come back to haunt Perch later in this competition?
73' Jussie has a chance to get Bordeaux back in the match, as he is put clean through on goal, but Harper spreads himself really well to block the shot. Excellent save.
69' Second sub for Newcastle. Dan Gosling replacing Tiote. It is tactical, so don't worry toon army fans.
66' Former Sunderland player David Bellion comes on for Gouffran as Bordeaux make their final change.
60' Newcastle make there second sub of the night. Gael Bigirimana replacing a tired looking Yohan Cabaye. Job done as far as the Frenchman is concerned.
50' Straight down the other end, and it is Newcastle 3-0 Bordeaux. Cisse with a clinical finish (off his shin), after a fine low cross from Shane Ferguson. Although it should'nt have stood, as the front man was actually fractionally off side when the ball was played into the box.
49' What an attempt from Saivet, he back heels the ball onto the post after a vicious cross from the right. Superb skill, and he is a little unlucky.
46' Bordeaux have made two subs, both tactical. Plasil and Obraniak are replaced by N'Guemo and Diabate.
46' One forced substitution for Newcastle. Keeper Rob Elliot is replaced by Steve Harper.
45' The half time whistle goes. It's been a lively affair. Some how Newcastle have found themselves 2-0 up. Bordeaux have looked good, but lacked bite upfront. The difference at half time was Obertan's mazy run and cross for Ameobi. And Henrique's disastrous own goal.
42' That could have been three! After a bit of a goal mouth scramble, the ball falls to Anita, who forces Carrasso into a diving save to his right from just inside the area.
39' And talking of a horrible mess...... Henrique puts it into his own net in comical fashion. A ball in from the right is seemingly heading straight into the arms of Carrasso, but with no striker in sight, Henrique comes in at pace to kung-fu kick the ball into the goal. It's a shocker. Newcastle United 2-0 Bordeaux.
27' Fine build up play from Bordeaux, this time down the right. The ball eventually reaches Gouffran, he turns sharply, but his shot his superbly deflected over by Williamson.
21' Worrying sign for Newcastle, Tiote has gone down off the ball clinching his right ankle.
19' Cheick Tiote into the referee's notebook for a late tackle Saivet.
15' Ameobi opens the scoring for Newcastle. Superb work by Gabriel Obertan down the left, as he wriggles away from his marker. He then plays a sublime low cross for Ameobi, who taps in from a yard out. Newcastle United 1-0 Bordeaux.
12' Cabaye bends the free kick over the wall and into the side netting. Close again for the French man.
11' Newcastle break fast, and Shoala Ameobi is played through by Cabaye. He's cut down by Henrique, who is arguably the last man for Bordeaux. But the defender gets away with just a booking. Free kcik Newcastle on the edge of the area........
5' Best chance of the game so far, and Ludovic Obraniak really should score. After some fine link up play down the left, a bullet cross is headed inches over from six yards out.
2' Cabaye back in the team tonight, very almost opens the scoring after 70 seconds. On the right hand corner of the box, he tries an adventurous effort with the outside of his foot. It goes narrowly wide of Cedric Carrasso's right hand post.

Good to see keeper Harper being rediscovered again. He did show in times past moments of brilliance in goal. Hope he can produce it consistently for Newcastle, except when they play Liverpool (my team) of course. With Newcastle now a stronger team maybe he will do well again.
Isnt it funny how nobody has answered my comment on the 31,000 crowd, come on Geordies,I thought you were the best fans in England,no sorry the world,no maybe th universe !! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha LOL !!
Hee, hee, heee. She never gives up does she. Poor sad joseph the girl with a very large jealous streak down her vindictive racist back.
Cards ,please read 45,it says GOOD WIN !! but you must admit Girondins( French for Dog and Duck) werent very good and its a FACT you did get one of their players to score for you and Cisse was offside, and as I said the crowd was poor !!
Joseph, stop being a complete tool. Just admit it for once NUFC were the better team. We even stopped playing for the last 20 minutes and Bordeaux still couldn't do anything.
Snappin had to work and miss the match sound like a good match come the toon
Well done to newcastle on a very good performance in the europa league group stage.3-0 is a very good victory scoreline against any team in european football as every team works hard to play in europe
Bitter doseph on the toon board again......remind us how big 5under1ands last euro crowd was ya t.i.t.................................er thats right you don't play in europe.....smb
Meanwhile Liverpool lost at home. LoL
Joseph the vindictive #$%$ never gives up does she. Never changes her tune, always moaning, moaning, moaning. No clue about the game of football, no clue about life. Just a sad vindictive poor girl. Sad really. More to be pitied than scorned.
WELL DONE LADS SO PROUD TO BE A GEORDIE!!!!!!!
Shaun,Where are the Mackems? where were your "magnificent" fans? Good win, even though an own goal and one offside against a moderate French team, but 31,000 is pi55 poor ,big club ,yeah right! Dont ever take the pi55 out of anyones crowds again ! Liverpool,40,000 now thats a big club !!
Have to admit I expected more from Bordeaux, after they dismantled Bruges a couple of weeks ago, but you have to take your hat off to the way Newcastle have turned themselves around over the last 3 years, and the job that Pardew is doing. Newcastle now have a very good team and are more than capable of grabbing 4th spot at the end of the season. They also always get a big attendance no matter what the match or who is the opposition. If the stadium is ever fully completed so that the two sides of the stadium currently smaller are enlarged to fit with the two larger sides, then St. James's Park would be one mightily impressive stadium - and very intimidating for visiting teams. It's capacity would easily be 80,000!
wwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooopppppppppppppp eeeeeeeeeeeeeee
God result and this really pi$$ed off the mackem#$%$!
That'll do....time for the Bigg market.....Taxi.
3-0 against minnows.
