    • - The win puts Germany top of Group B with four points from England, who have three, and Spain with one. Finland remain on zero. LIVE NOW: England face Spain!!
    • 90+3' All over with little further incident: Germany top Group B with the victory.
    • 90' Time ticks down on a better second period as Ebert goes to ground claiming injury after a 50:50 with Kokko. Luckily the ref isn't daft enough to issue another yellow to him.
    • 88' Wanna see some squad lists? You know you need to feed that habit... to do so go here.
    • 86' The remaining Hetemaj, the good one, blasts a free-kick from a long way out over the bar. You can't blame him for trying.
    • 85' Germany change: Sandro Wagner on for the impressive Oezil, who has two assists to his name today.
    • 83' Kokko tries to infiltrate the German defence - but a linesman's flag puts an end to those ambitions.
    • 81' And Kokko goes into the book!! Only 25 seconds pass before a high challenge on Boateng is punished.
    • 81' Finland change: Striker for a midfielder as Aleksandr Kokko replaces Mehmet Hetemaj.
    • 77' Perparim Hetemaj, the best player for Finland by a mile, with a shot which forces a great save out of Neuer, full-stretch to his right.
    • 75' Finland, who have battled but failed to provide enough creativity in midfield or quality in attack, make a change: Nicholas Otaru on for Kasper Hamalainen.
    • 72' Oezil takes the ball forward and feeds Castro on the right, whose attempted finish is blocked at the last. Germany much more assured in this second half.
    • 69' Dejagah centres from the right, a dipping cross that is no good to anybody, least of all a German.
    • 65' Sevilla striker Pukki, the only teenager in the Finland squad, turns and shoots low - saved by Neuer.
    • 63' Finland change: Teemu Pukki on for Jussi Vasara.
    • 61' A SECOND GOAL FOR GERMANY!! Khedira bursts forward from midfield and plays a pinpoint through-ball for Oezil to latch on to, and as Jaakkola comes out he immediately passes to the right to give Dejagah an open goal. Well-worked and unselfish.
    • 60' Germany made a change immediately before the set-piece: Anis Ben-Hatira on for Marin.
    • 59' GOAL FOR GERMANY!! Defender Benedikt Hoewedes nods home an excellent free-kick by Bremen star Oezil.
    • 57' Perparim Hetemaj, not to confused with his brother on the pitch Mehmet Hetemaj, turns Schmelzer inside out from the right and the German defender hauls him down. Yellow card.
    • 54' Full-back Andreas Beck attacks from the left as Germany begin to turn the screw... his shot bends wickedly but Jaakkola is equal to it, palming wide for a corner. As the best effort of the match, it gets a star from me.
    • 53' Khedira breaks with purpose for Germany, passing firmly down the throat of the Finalnd back-line... eaten up by one of the centre-halves.
    • 51' Castro halted in midfield but regains possession to surge forward again and play in Marin... a great tackle keeps Finland safe. Soon after Germany's Ebert sees yellow for a late tackle.
    • 49' Yellow card for Germany striker Oezil after he clipped the heels of Perparim Hetemaj. Harsh.
    • 47' Germany change: Patrick Ebert on for Aogo.
    • 46' The second half starts.
    • 45+3' Half-time. 0-0 and all to play for.
    • 45+2' A win is a must for Finland after the opening-day loss to England - especially with Spain to come. Germany need at least a draw really, but a win would do them fine. They face England in their last game...
    • 45' Two minutes to be added on at the end of a poor first half.
    • 43' Little argument about the yellow card which follows - and thankfully the keeper is up after receiving some attention.
    • 42' A poor backpass from Finland full-back Joni Aho to Anssi Jaakkola... Marin closes down quickly and goes in studs-up, catching the shot-stopper just after he cleared the ball!!
    • 38' Jerome Boateng with a poor pass. The Germany defender has presence but is not blessed with distribution skills - at least on this evidence.
    • 36' Finnish midfielder Perparim Hetemaj is hurt and stretchered off - but he will be able to continue soon enough.
    • 34' Stuart Pearce's England U21s face Spain tonight. What does Psycho have to say about it? Pearce prepared for Spain test
    • 32' Another corner to Finland, well taken by German keeper Manuel Neuer at his near post.
    • 29' A great ball down the left for Oezil to take on... he wins a corner. The match however is pretty languid and devoid of real quality.
    • 27' Sadik picks the ball up outside the box, turns and strikes over the bar. Poor defending, but Germany get away with it.
    • 25' Sparv with a give-and-go - only he doesn't get the ball back as a German defender cuts it out. He would have been in behind.
    • 23' Finnish striker Sadik holds up and lays it off - straight to a German midfielder!! That man is Dennis Aogo, whose pass to the left is equally bad and out of play.
    • 20' Finland are the better side so far, closing down well and playing the ball about. Germany, one of the favourites for the tournament, are yet to win the U21 Euros.
    • 17' The sun is shining on this ground as the Swedish crowd get involved in the battle... Finland and Germany both trying to play football.
    • 14' Sami Khedira tries to work his way into the Finnish box and there is a mix-up at the back... Gonzalo Castro's reactive effort almost gives Germany the lead!!
    • 13' Tim Sparv strikes a free-kick into the German wall from distance.
    • 10' Marcel Schmelzer replaces Sebastian Boenisch at left-back for Germany, while Mesut Oezil of Werder Bremen is in attack alongside Ashkan Dejagah after passing a fitness test.
    • 7' Corner to Finland. Kasper Hamalainen sends it in... Jonas Portin wins the header and Berat Sadik almost helps it home as the ball bounces back out for another set-piece...
    • 4' How did these sides get on in their first match then? Fixtures & results
    • 3' Finland, kicking from left to right in blue, with early ball in Germany's half. They are in white and black, as always.
    • 1' We are underway in Halmstad!!
    • - Germany take on Finland in their second match in this European U21 Championship.
