    • Germany U21
    • 90+3 That's the final whistle! Goalless between Spain and Germany, lots of action but no goals. So England are top of Group B after one game.
    • 90+2 Raul Garcia trips Hoewedes and is carded.
    • 90+1 Oezil finds Ben-Hatira on the edge of the box, he turns and shoots but good positioning by the keeper to save.
    • 90' Dejagah threads a wonderful ball that frees Oezil who is clean through but the flag is up! That was tight! Indeed, it was wrong! Should have been allowed!
    • 89' Capel plays it into Xisco who turns and shoots but Schmelzer hurls himself at him to block!
    • 88' Super ball wide left by Ebert to Ben-Hatira who is in loads of space to whip over a cross but hacked away by Spain.
    • 87' SPAIN SUB: Granero is replaced by Leon.
    • 85' GERMANY SUB: Ebert on for Castro.
    • 84' Jurado slides it through to Xisco who tries to turn Boateng but the big man just shrugs him off the ball and brings it clear.
    • 83' Spain are looking pretty tidy coming forward but Germany keep shutting them out. This is one of the tighter games we'll see in this tournament.
    • 82' SPAIN SUB: The disappointing Bojan is replaced by Newcastle flop Xisco.
    • 80' Oezil springs the offside trap and he is clean through, this should be 1-0, he puts it on to his left but straight at Asenjo who blocks! Poor, poor finish.
    • 79' Germany almost get clear again but Ben Hatira can't get on to the ball after some nice one-touch passing.
    • 76' Khedira gives the ball away, Capel races through the middle and Khedira slides in, takes him down and earns a booking.
    • 74' A long one is controlled by Capel wide left but his second touch his poor and he fouls Beck.
    • 73' Germany are in down the left, inside to Dejagah who shoots but blocked and despite Germany having men over Spain somehow get it clear.
    • 72' Poor first touch by Capel. Germany clear their lines and build from the back again.
    • 71' Spain passing the ball around more confidently now but a wide one out to Capel is intercepted by Beck.
    • 69' SPAIN SUB: Sisi comes off for Capel.
    • 68' Jurado to Sisi, he is forced wide now Granero on it, Sanchez on the right tries to win a corner but gives away a throw.
    • 67' Spain with a good spell of possession but Germany are solid at the back and clear.
    • 65' Castro wide to Beck who plays a very deep cross that Oezil flies to meet and volley, saved by Ansejo but the ball had drited out before Oezil struck it.
    • 64' Germany threaten again down the right but Torrejon clears for Spain.
    • 62' Germany break, Dejagah down the left, Spain all over the place and he slides it through to Oezil who must score, he rounds the keeper, the angle is tight but he slides it past him anyway but somehow Asenjo gets his body across in time to block it! What a save!
    • 61' Beck with a crude challenge on Jurado, Spain kick off and make sure he gets a card. He did get the ball, but he took the man too.
    • 59' Great ball through to Bojan sends the Barcelona man through but superb defending from Boateng to sweep across, muscle him out and clear Germany's lines.
    • 54' Germany come forward again, Dejagah plays it in but well over by Marin.
    • 53' Granero has a crack but well wide from long range.
    • 52' Oezil again gets in down the right, but his cut back is cleared. He is the stand-out player here. Oezil AGAIN gets it on the right, puts in a dangerous cross but no-one is moving towards the six-yard box. One-man show here.
    • 50' Oezil again gets in down the right and a brilliant run is rounded off by a ball across to Dejagah who must score but he hammers it over! Should have been 1-0!
    • 48' Germany come forward again, Oezil clever with and without the ball to get in down the right, he drills a low cross looking for Marin but a wild clearance by Chico up in tha air and lucky for Spain it's clear!!
    • 47' Torrejon with a really bad tackle on Beck. Clever short free-kick taken quickly by Beck but cleared by Spain.
    • 46' Second half underway!!
    • 45+1 Half-time, goalless but a lot of quality on show from both sides.
    • 45' A Spain move breaks down, Marin races away down the left, he uses a clever decoy run by Oezil to cut inside and he drills it low from the edge of the box but inches wide! Great counter, that clipped the outside of the post too!
    • 44' Spain knocking it about nicely now but Germany clear as soon as it gets close to the area.
    • 43' Sisi fouls Marin, free kick to Germany but nothing comes of it.
    • 41' Oezil gets in down the right, super cross but Sanchez nods it away from Marin flying in and Schmelzer flies in with a volley but well wide!
    • 40' Because Germany put the ball out of play so Jurado could be helped up, Spain pass it back to them. Nice.
    • 39' Sisi and Jurado combine to play Bojan in but doesn't quite reach him. Jurado is down nursing his ankle...
    • 38' GERMANY SUB: An injury to Boesnich means Schmelzer is on.
    • 37' Sanchez on the right, great cross but over everyone's head and out for a throw!
    • 36' This is a fairly open game now, Germany gaining in confidence after Spain's bright start.
    • 34' Neuer hurls it long to Oezil who moves quickly into space. He has no support so holds it up, Spain get back but Oezil slips in and out of two defenders on the touchline and drills in a vicious shot which the keeper does well to parry! Great play from the Germany forward!
    • 32' The second corner is swung in and Torrejon flies in BUT THE HEADER OFF THE BAR AND AWAY!
    • 31' Corner Spain... headed clear but a long shot from Bojan, it ricochets into the path of CHICO WHO MUST SCORE BUT A GREAT STOP BY NEUER! Corner again!
    • 30' Granero tries a shot from distance but well over the bar.
    • 28' Castro almost gets in for Germany but Spain clear. Granero leads the charge, one-two with Jurado and back to Granero whose shot hits the arm of Aogo and away! Unintentional clearly.
    • 25' Bojan inside to Sanchez who cuts across and goes wide to Sisi. Eventually Spain over play it and Khedira follows it out for a throw to Germany.
    • 23' A lull in the play but - in case you're interested - the USA lead Italy 1-0 in their Confederations Cup match. Landon Donovan with a penalty.
    • 21' Frustration for Bojan after he thinks he should have won a corner but a goal kick is awarded.
    • 20' Loads of space for Bojan on the edge of the box but his shot flies well over.
    • 18' Corner to Spain after Neuera has to palm behind a shot that deflected heavily off Aogo.
    • 16' Dejagah clatters into Raul Garcia, yellow card.
    • 14' Some respite for Spain after a Germany's spell of pressure but Sisi's ball wide for Bojan is too long.
    • 13' Germany break and Oezil is onside but he delays the pass too long and Spain are back to clear.
    • 12' Martinez clears but still with the Germans and Aogo has a crack from range but well wide.
    • 9' Germany are looking more lively now with a few minutes of decent possession.
    • 7' There's some kind of confusion as a corner results in a free-kick after Marin is fouled while taking it short... Oezil swings it in and almost meets the head of Hoewedes but Spain survive.
    • 6' A mix-up in the Spain defence after a long ball catches the right back out but Torrejon is there to hack it over for a corner with Oezil ready to pounce.
    • 5' More good play by Sisi but his final ball is off target. Sisi again on the ball, inside to Granero who shoots from range but low and easy for Neuer.
    • 4' Sisi almost gets in on the right but Aogo clears. Spain starting the better, as one may expect.
    • 3' Bojan on the left, cuts inside and plays it back to Raul Garcia who shoots from range but easy for Neuer.
    • 2' Sisi hurls himself to the floor quite easily but still wins a free kick off Aogo on the right. Good delivery by Garcia but Boateng heads clear, Jurado has a pop but over.
    • 1' Match underway!!
    • - SPAIN TEAM: Sergio Asenjo, Nacho Monreal, Torrejon, Martinez, Sisi, Raul Garcia, Granero, Sergio Sanchez, Chico, Bojan, Jurado
