    Time:90'
    • Macclesfield Town
    • Everton
    • 90' And that's it!! Although having been dominated for much of the second half Macclesfield will, having lost, feel slightly aggrieved considering Tim Howard made a wonderful last second save and Nat Brown had earlier headed over a guilt edged chance.
    • 90 Tim Howard makes a stunning last minute save from Terry Dunfield. That was literally the last chance of the game. What a strike and what a save.
    • 89' Danny Thomas volleys just over from outside the box.
    • 89' On comes Wayne Rooney's brother John for Gareth Evans. A fairytale ending perchance? Dan Gosling comes on for Steven Pienaar.
    • 87' Macclesfield are having a real go, and after being in control for much of the second half Everton find themselves under immense pressure. Will they rue those missed chances?
    • 85' Danny Thomas has a penalty claim waved away by referee Peter Walton. Looks like Tony Hibbert had a case to answer if you ask me.
    • 82' Macclesfield win a free-kick 20 yards out. Terry Dunsfield stands over it, his effort dips late but was always going over.
    • 78' Macclesfield make a second change. Simon Yeo comes on for Lee Bell and has an immediate impact - sneaking in behind Jagielka to get his shot away, albeit tamely. That's Macclesfield's first shot on target of the second half.
    • 76' Pienaar cuts in from the left and his effort bends away from Brains goal and out for a goal kick.
    • 74' Pienaar has another effort blocked and then Phil Jagielka flicks a Leighton Baines cross goal-wards, but it's over. Surely they'll score soon.
    • 71' Anichebe is struggling and may have to come off!!
    • 70' Having created little in the second half Keith Alexander changes it. Bringing on Danny Thomas for James Jennings.
    • 67' Arteta crosses to the near post but Anichebe can't get his headed effort past Walker, who blocks. Jagielka follows up with an overhead kick of sorts that loops just over the bar.
    • 66' Pienaar wins a free-kick near Macclesfield's corner flag. The big lads make their way forward!
    • 63' Anichebe has two quick fire efforts. The first is blocked, while the second curls viciously toward Brain's top corner, but unfortunately for the Nigerian it drops just wide.
    • 58' Another Arteta corner lands at the feet of Cahill and he stabs his effort wide. If Everton fail to convert their opportunities one can only look to precedent set in FA Cup games and think they'll live to regret it.
    • 56' Everton continue to exploit the space allowed to their full-backs. This time Hibbert crosses to the back post but Morgan headers out for a corner, which Brain claims.
    • 54' Baines gets into a promising position down the left but scuffs his shot and the ball dribbles out of play.
    • 52' This is very much Everton's game now. The formerly disappointing Arteta spraying passes left and right, but Macclesfield hold out strong.
    • 50' Everton begin to stroke the ball around with the authority of a Premiership side. Pienaar, Arteta and Hibbert all involved; Hibbert crosses and wins a corner.
    • 48' Evans leaves Tony Hibbert on his backside but his shot is tame.
    • 47' Macclesfield are straight out of the blocks - in much similar fashion to the first half - but lack the genuine quality that will see them trouble Everton.
    • 46' Darkness has fallen on Macclesfield as the teams trot out for the second half.
    • 45' And that's it, half time. Macclesfield will feel aggrieved to be behind, but no one at Moss Rose could deny the quality of Leon Osman's strike.
    • 45' One minute of time added on.
    • 44' Osman weaves his way past a couple of Silkmen but has his shot blocked.
    • 43' GOAL...and what a goal from Leon Osman! Following successive Arteta crosses and consecutive Macclesfield clearances, Osman masterfully controls the ball on his chest and fires a brilliant half-volley past Jon Brain from just outside the box. Brilliant. The 'keeper got a hand on it but it was destined for the top corner.
    • 41' Again Arteta's delivery is poor. He has been Everton's most influential player but at times has been quite wasteful.
    • 40' Arteta's free-kick is poor and easily cleared. But the pressure continues to build, Everton are definitely finishing the half in the ascendancy.
    • 39' If Everton are to score its look like it will come from their left side. The marauding Baines and tricky Pienaar link up again to win a free-kick.
    • 36' Steven Pienaar twists and turns before delivering for Cahill, but the Australian is straining to get there and glances wide.
    • 33' This is an intriguing encounter! As soon as Everton look to take a foothold in the game Macclesfield cause the Premier League side some uncomfortable moments. It is far from one sided and Evans has arguably been the brightest player on show thus far.
    • 29' A long Tony Hibbert throw is allowed to bounce in the Silkmen's box and Cahill pounces. But, under pressure, his volley is tame.
    • 27' After a hectic opening 25 minutes both sides seem to have settled. Everton looking to pass and probe; while Macclesfield soak up the pressure and look to break with the impressive Evans upfront.
    • 24' Macclesfield appear to be targeting Leighton Baines at the back post, Nat Brown again rises highest but can only head the ball into Phil Neville's path.
    • 23' Everton have a free-kick, but the usually reliable Arteta fires waywardly over
    • 22' Nat Brown heads down at the far post for Izak Reid to swing wildly and see his effort sail corner-flag-wards.
    • 20' Joleon Lescott causes mild mayhem in the Macclesfield box but can only loop his effort over the bar.
    • 17' Leighton Baines fizzes a ball across the Macclesfield box. Great ball. Victor Anichebe was inches away from it. Everton are definitely on top but Macclesfield look dangerous on the break.
    • 14' Everton are stepping it up a level now.
    • 12' Nat Brown misses a guilt-edged chance at the back post. James Jennings with the inch perfect cross. That was a real chance.
    • 9' Osman ends a good spell of Everton possession with a laboured touch that takes the pressure off the home side and concedes a goal-kick.
    • 6' Macclesfield break and Terry Dunfield hits the ball sweetly but, in truth, it's always going over.
    • 3' The game has started a ferocious pace. And after some pin-ball in the Macclesfield box Steven Pienaar fires straight at Jon Brain.
    • 1' Referee Peter Walton gets the first ever competitive meeting between these sides underway.
    • 15:00 The teams are out. Everton put out a pretty full strength side. David Moyes, it seems, keen to not suffer last years third round fate - a humbling defeat to Oldham. While, Macclesfield will look to add to Everton's third round woes and, more importantly, move into the fourth of the FA Cup for first time in their 135 years. Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines, Osman, Neville, Arteta, Pienaar, Anichebe, Cahill. Macclesfield: Brain, Reid, Walker, Morgan, Hessey, Bell, Brown, Dunfield, Jennings, Evans, Griffton.
