    • Brighton and Hove Albion
    • Newcastle United
    • 90+5' There's the final whistle! Newcastle are out of the FA Cup, and it's a triumph for Brighton!
    • 90+5' Cabaye into the box for Ameobi, who once again fails to connect - that will surely be it...
    • 90+4' Time running out for Newcastle - one last chance?
    • 90+2' Brighton change: Will Hoskins on for Craig Mackail-Smith.
    • 90+1' Poor corner for Newcastle - Taylor crosses deep, it evades Ameobi and goes out for a Brighton throw.
    • 90' Four minutes to be added on...
    • 89' Oh, that should have been a penalty! The defender Dunk in with his hands up and the ball clearly struck them. Dunk did the old Steven Taylor trick of going down holding his face, but it was a handball...
    • 88' Big penalty shout for handball as Cabaye's shot is charged down! Referee Probert says no - will need a replay to sort that one out.
    • 87' Amazing TV shot of a Newcastle fan dressed in a black-and-white jester outfit. He doesn't look to jovial...
    • 87' Based on this performance, Demba Ba can't get Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse back from the African Cup of Nations soon enough...
    • 85' Ferguson crosses from the left, but it is easily claimed by Brezovan. Frustration for the Magpies.
    • 84' Cabaye finds Simpson, who curls a cross from the right... cannot connect with Ameobi.
    • 83' Newcastle changes: Dan Gosling, Ryan Taylor and Shane Ferguson on for Ben Arfa, Santon and Guthrie.
    • 82' Well-worked by Brighton, and Harley wins a corner when his cross comes off a black shirt.
    • 81' Navarro crosses from the left and Perch launches a clearance for a throw.
    • 80' Dan Gosling is going to come on for Newcastle.
    • 79' Cabaye drills a corner into the box... Ameobi meets it with a looping header that Brezovan holds with ease.
    • 77' Superb work by Buckley, though as his shot appeared to be going wide that will go down as a Mike Williamson own-goal.
    • 76' GOAL!! There may be no replay after all!! Will Buckley gives Brighton the lead!! He dribbles down the left, cuts inside and his shot deflects off Williamson's heels, taking it past Krul!
    • 75' Brighton continue to knock the ball about well. Not sure either side will really want a replay - if there is, it will be played on Wednesday February 8th.
    • 73' Just seen the replay of that Cabaye 'stamp' at full speed. It doesn't look great for the Frenchman. He definitely lashes out, and in light of the Balotelli ban the FA could have little choice but to hammer Cabaye.
    • 72' There is a collision on the right side as Buckley and Santon come together - no foul, says the referee. Goal kick.
    • 71' The set-piece comes to nothing... but it's promising stuff from Brighton.
    • 70' Mackail-Smith has a crack left-footed from 25 yards! Krul is forced into a decent diving save and he tips it behind for a corner.
    • 68' The ball goes out of play and clonks the linesman on the head. He chooses to see the funny side...
    • 66' Brighton feels Cabaye stamped on El-Abd - given the Balotelli precedent, the FA may want to take a look at it, but to be honest I don't think there's any need.
    • 65' Brighton change: Brian Harley is on for Jake Forster-Caskey.
    • 64' El Abd fouls Cabaye, and gets a boot in the mush for his troubles.
    • 62' Guthrie hits a long, diagonal ball for Ameobi who knocks it down into the centre, just outside the box, and Guthrie cannot get there.
    • 61' Newcastle are seeing more of the ball - Ben Arfa in particular - and the Newcastle playmaker is chopped in midfield. Gus Poyet shouts at Ben Arfa, whom he obviously thinks has dived.
    • 60' Nearly an hour gone, and Brighton are still looking good for a replay. You'd like to see them go for the jugular, but of course that's easier said than done.
    • 59' Ben Arfa goes on a mazy run and crosses from the right... cut out and cleared by Dunk.
    • 57' Taricco is still livid at the lack of a card for Simpson. Personally, I think it probably should have been a yellow.
    • 56' Simpson upends Mackail-Smith in front of the bench, and Mauricio Taricco leaps up furiously! A bit of verbals between the benches. Ref Lee Probert keeps his cards in his pocket.
    • 54' Ben Arfa's corner is met on the volley by Cabaye, but he cannot direct it on target. Very difficult chance.
    • 53' Another chance! The corner drops to Ameobi, whose left-foot shot is parried by Brezovan!
    • 53' The ball comes out to Guthrie, whose volley is deflected over from the edge of the box!
    • 52' Ameobi spins away from Graham and tees up Best, whose low shot is saved by Brezovan!
    • 51' Simpson crosses from the right, but oddly Ameobi backs away from the ball as it comes into the box.
    • 50' Mackail-Smith finds Buckley with a pass that bounces off a Newcastle knee en route, but he cannot get his shot away.
    • 49' Played down the left channel for Forster-Caskey to chase... Williamson gets there first and plays it back to Krul.
    • 47' Barnes stays down after colliding with Williamson. He'll be OK.
    • 46' Second half under way! One change from Brighton - Alan Navarro on for Brighton. He replaces Matthew Sparrow, who was on a yellow.
    • 45+2' Right, that's half-time. No goals, and not a great deal to shout about. Brighton are holding their own, but we could do with a bit more excitement.
    • 45+1' One minute of stoppage time to be played.
    • 45' Guthrie spreads the ball wide to Simpson on the right, and he crosses straight out of play for a goal kick.
    • 43' In comes the corner, and it is header over from a flick at the near post. Goal kick.
    • 42' Mackail-Smith picks up on a loose ball in midfield and goes for goal... it deflects behind for a corner.
    • 40' Cabaye is back on a tries to drive into the box... but he overruns it and the ball is played back to Brezovan.
    • 39' Cabaye is in the wars, and limps off for the second time today. Again, I think he'll be OK.
    • 38' Sparrow is penalised for a foul on Cabaye. The Brighton man is furious, but it looked an awful challenge to me. Yellow card.
    • 37' Hard to explain why this is so much more tedious than an average 0-0, but there's just no tempo to it.
    • 36' A sign of how boring this game is - we've started Wikipedia-ing the populations of English towns. Crawley 107,000, Derby 236,000.
    • 34' Ben Arfa slides a through ball for Simpson, whose shot ricochets back off the keeper, hits him, loops goalwards again and is hacked away for a corner.
    • 33' Buckley finds Forster-Caskey, who might take on the shot but tries a through-ball into the box - it doesn't come off, and Newcastle clear.
    • 32' Mackail-Smith takes a flier from long range - nowhere near the target.
    • 31' Cabaye's corner is met by Williamson and it loops into the hands of Brezovan.
    • 30' Ameobi turns and dribbles into the box... he is crowded out and Newcastle have a corner.
    • 29' That's better from Brighton, as Santon dawdles and Buckley gets to a ball down the line... his cross is cut out.
    • 28' Mike Ashley is also in the crowd - looking no more interested than Poyet.
    • 27' Oh my, this is a slow game. Even Gus Poyet looks bored.
    • 25' Three Newcastle fans are wearing Coloccini fright wigs. Shame he isn't playing...
    • 24' Newcastle work the ball patiently around inside the Newcastle half... but there is noway through and they actually play the ball back of their own accord.
    • 22' Calderon attempts a diagonal crossfield ball from the right, but it is easily won in the air by Simpson.
    • 21' Jonas Gutierrez gets on the ball and attempts to make headway, but he is double-teamed and has to play the ball backwards.
    • 20' Santon finds Best at the edge of the Brighton box... he tries a trick but gets dispossessed and the home side clear.
    • 19' There's a fine line between patient, possession football and just plain boring. I fear this falls the wrong side of the line.
    • 17' Danny Guthrie scored an absolute screamer last week against Fulham, but this is no repeat - he sidefoots well over from long range.
    • 16' Again, a decent move down the Brighton right, but Williamson makes an assured defensive header.
    • 14' Buckley dribbles inside from the right and centres... the ball is squeezed to safety!
    • 13' Newcastle have suddenly grabbed the initiative, but can they maintain their momentum after squandering a couple of good chances.
    • 12' Another chance for Best! Simpson crosses deep from the left, Ameobi heads it back in front of goal, and Best heads over from close range! Should have done much better...
    • 10' Chance for Leon Best! He controls a long ball superbly in the box, turns and fires a low shot just wide of the left-hand post! Good effort, and the first attacking threat we have seen from the visitors.
    • 9' Newcastle have not put together anything of note yet.
    • 8' Cabaye has gone down injured. The physio is on, bending the midfielder's leg. He then walks off. I suspect he'll be back.
    • 7' Barnes does indeed shoot, and his low effort is predictably blocked.
    • 6' Brighton win a free-kick 35 yards from goal... surely not a shooting opportunity?
    • 5' A fairly slow start in terms of chances. Brighton settling in nicely.
    • 4' Mackail-Smith tries to cross from the right to Forster-Caskey, but it is cut out. No Coloccini today for Newcastle, incidentally.
    • 2' A decent, positive start from the home side - they are 10th in the Championship table in their first season after promotion.
    • 1' Game on! Brighton get us under way. The home side in blue and white stripes, Newcastle all in black.
    • 17:12 Out come the teams at Brighton's handsome new ground, the Amex Stadium! Under way in a couple of minutes.
    • 17:10 Yes, this is a fake, but it's also hilarious. 'How to look like Leon Best'
    • 17:05 Gus Poyet on Jake Forster-Caskey: "He's a confident boy - He's so confident in what he does I'm not afraid to play him."
    • 17:00 The 3pm kick-offs have just finished, and here are the FA Cup scores and scorers.
    • 16:55 Meanwhile, Alan Pardew and Newcastle have been waxing lyrical about the Magic of the Cup. Pardew up for the Cup
    • 16:50 Earlier this week, Brighton boss Gus Poyet denied reports the club was about to sign Michael Owen. Poyet laughs off Owen link
    • 16:45 Brighton have lost their last six meetings with top-flight opponents in the FA Cup but have lost only one of their last 11 FA Cup games at home (W6 D4).
    • 16:40 Newcastle have won none of their last eight FA Cup matches away from home and have not made it past the fourth round since the 2005/06 season.
