90+4' FULL TIME. Liverpool are through to face Stoke City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup thanks to three own goals - a record in the long history of this competition. A fine performance from the Reds.
85' GOAL! Liverpool 6-1 Brighton! Suarez gets his goal after missing that penalty. Carroll heads back across goal from an Enrique ball and Suarez leaps to knock it over the line from close range.
82' From the following corner, Kuyt gets his head to the ball and heads against the bar! He should really have scored.
81' Suarez sees his penalty saved! And he fails to convert the follow up!
80' Penalty to Liverpool! And Dalglish tells his side to give it to Suarez.
77' A triple change for Liverpool. Downing, Gerrard and Henderson are replaced by Dirk Kuyt, Jonjo Shelvey and Maxi Rodriguez.
75' GOAL! Liverpool 5-1 Brighton! ANOTHER own goal! What on earth is Dunk doing? Brezovan misses a cross from Suarez and Dunk controls with his chest, before trying to juggle the ball up with his knee and accidentally knocking it over the line, before trying and failing to hook it out. Embarrassing, to be honest.
71' GOAL! Liverpool 4-1 Brighton! Bridcutt with another own goal, how unfortunate. Liverpool break from a Brighton corner and Navarro makes a horrible mess of a bouncing ball in the box as Gerrard sneaks in and sees his initial effort saved, before the follow up is turned in by the luckless Bridcutt.
69' Vokes and El-Abd replaced by Vicente and Craig Mackail-Smith in a double change for Brighton.
57' GOAL! Liverpool 3-1 Brighton! Carroll's frustration dissipates as he coverts with a fine first-time finish. It was a nice move from Liverpool and Downing skipped away from Calderon as the Spaniard went to ground before finding Carroll with a cut-back.
53' Confirmation that Alan Navarro was booked for a foul on Gerrard.
52' Gerrard chests down a headed clearance and fires in a shot that Henderson tries to flick in cleverly. However, his attempt sneaks just wide.
46' KICK OFF!
- Brighton bring on Craig Noone for Buckley. Noone famously roofed Gerrard's house.

45+2' HALF TIME. Liverpool go in in front thanks to an own goal from Bridcutt. LuaLua had equalised following Skrtel's opener.
45' GOAL! Liverpool 2-1 Brighton! An own goal puts Liverpool back in front. Brezovan punched the corner up into the air and Suarez then saw his shot saved by the keeper. Johnson followed up with a header and Vokes headed off the line and against his own man, Liam Bridcutt, as the ball crossed the line.
42' LuaLua surges into the box and pulls out a stepover before thumping a low effort into the side netting. A cross would have been a better option.
32' Carroll gets free for once and meets a fantastic cross from Gerrard, but heads over the bar when he should have at least hit the target. Disappointing.
28' So unlucky for Suarez! Glen Johnson plays the ball square to him and he drifts menacingly in before making space and firing at goal using the outside of his boot. Brezovan is beaten but Lewis Dunk is on hand to clear off the line. Excellent defending.
23' So unlucky for Suarez! The forward does excellently to jink past one man and then another before just failing to get a clean shot away when eight yards out. The ball bounces into the path of Carroll but he snatches at his shot.
18' GOAL! Liverpool 1-1 Brighton! What a hit! LuaLua brings his side level with an absolute belter of a free kick. The ball was knocked to him and the midfielder produced a stunning low effort that snuck around the wall and beat Pepe Reina.
5' GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Brighton! Martin Skrtel puts Liverpool in front at Anfield. The defender did superbly to get in front of his man and meet a corner from Gerrard at the near post before nodding the ball home.

I guess for Suarez to be only averaging 6.5 by Yahoo users, as I write, must mean there must be quite a few haters (not lfc fans) who gave him 0 or 1 and thus brought his average down... I gave him 9 - he was brilliant, as usual. Henderson, tho, continues do nothing for me, and I don't really see what his purpose is in the side...

great result carroll and suarez looked good together

Looking at the 6-1 must bring back baaaddd memories for Manc Scummers

Well done yesterday Red Men, another step
in the right direction.
Keep up the good work

very good job well done i love the way liverpool playing today always reamber not spreaing plzz than we will win thanx to all the fan come on liverpoolllllllllllll

Re Liverpool having three of their goals scored by opposition as own goals, well ye can hardly blame LIVERPOOL for that I mean it's dam pretty hard to fix own goals , but what about 4 penalties in two games? Now thats sure is dodgy.

Just to say well done Brighton Fans for supporting your team throughout , despite result you gave your team and club great support, always nice to see fans support their team and with great spirit and a safe journey home.
On another note I would just like to thank all those Man U fans who congratulated LIVERPOOL on their win and Wished us best of luck in next round, Great Sports.

441. if you were watching the game you would know that all three own goal's were accident, and scored from one meter...first one: guy tried to kick the ball from the goal line and he hit Bridcutt in the leg, and he was a half of a meter from the goal line,
second one: gerrard shot on the goal and ball hit Bridcutt (again) on the goal line and changed direction, but it was going to goal anyway
third goal: Dunk lost control over the ball in front of the goal line and that is it...

bridcutt going for a hat trick.

wow i agree with all the scum and anti liverpool people that post on these threads.liverpool are shyte liverpool are a lucky team dalglish is useless liverpool are a racist club.wait a minute i must stop taking this medication dr ferguson gave me lol
UP YOURS MANC SCUM LIVERPOOL WILL BE THAT FORCE AGAIN STARING WITH 2 CUPS THIS SEASON ONWARDS AND UPWARDS YNWA

united fans make me laugh theyve been knocked out of three cups so far and the way things are going they,ll win nothing then the slide begins and fergie retires and the slide gets quicker and they end up in the bottom three, the who knows where it goes from there. Do they know that Notts Forrest are only one european cup win behind them and look where they are,so dont get too cocky
