    • FT FRIEDEL GETS HIS HEAD ON IT!!! But Leeds then clear AND THE REFEREE BLOWS HIS WHISTLE – The ball actually trickles into the net at the other end but the whistle had gone before then. Spurs are out of the FA Cup.
    • 90+4 Brown with a bad tackle on Parker near the right corner flag. Last chance for Tottenham. Up comes Friedel.
    • 90+3 Somma on for McCormack.
    • 90+2 An Assou-Ekotto cross goes beyond everyone – Spurs running out of time.
    • 90+1 Pearce on for Diouf - there will be four extra minutes.
    • 90' GREAT CHANCE FOR TOTTENHAM! Assou-Ekotto's long ball sets Obika free. Peltier though ran back to do just enough to stop the young Spurs striker pulling the trigger with a great sliding tackle.
    • 89' Assou-Ekotto booked for a handball. Leeds will take their time with the free-kick.
    • 89' Obika fails to read the intentions of Dempsey after the American put in a little through ball.
    • 88' Varney takes a bit of a dive down the left looking for a free-kick - the referee is having none of it though and allows Tottenham to build.
    • 87' Bale tries a looped cross with the outside of the boot but it is too close to Ashdown.
    • 86' Leeds keeping it down the Spurs end with a free-kick and now a corner.
    • 85' Bale goes on one of his flying runs but uncharacteristically miscontrols the ball just as he was entertaining the box.
    • 84' Parker has a shot but it hits the head of Peltier.
    • 83' Chants of Ole from the Leeds fans as they manage to hang onto possession for a spell and kill some time.
    • 81' Tottenham really have to step it up here – it is proving to be relatively comfortable for Leeds.
    • 80' Great chasing back from Michael Brown to gather the ball from Obika.
    • 79' Diouf has been booked for what I think is a combination of moaning and time-wasting.
    • 78' The referee has let the police know about a laser pen that has been waved in his face.
    • 77' Parker almost plays in Obika but a Leeds boot gets a touch on the way and the ball then goes off Obika and out for a goal kick.
    • 75' Dempsey's shot seems to hit Byram in the arm but the defender was very close and knew nothing about it. No penalty.
    • 74' McCormack and then Varney both look to get away crosses just inside the box – the latter does eventually but there is no white shirt there.
    • 73' Lees does superbly well to block a shot from Dempsey as for a moment it looked like Tottenham had a great chance to level.
    • 72' GREAT CHANCE FOR LEEDS! McCormack is allowed to run free again off a long ball as Assou-Ekotto slips. The angle is tight but he fires a decent effort on target and Friedel has to make a great save.
    • 71' Superb little spin move from Bale takes out two defenders – too much on his cross though but Tottenham eventually win a corner as Dembele's shot takes a deflection wide.
    • 70' More scrappy stuff from Tottenham as they take an age to clear.
    • 69' Leeds still looking to attack when they can – not settling for sitting back by any means.
    • 68' McCormack cuts in from the right but his low cross is blocked – it comes back out to Diouf but the danger is finally cleared.
    • 66' Here comes the third and final Tottenham change – Kyle Walker comes on for Naughton.
    • 65' Spurs take a free-kick quickly despite Diouf trying to stop them.
    • 64' Diouf gives the ball away and Assou-Ekotto is allowed to run towards the box – he seems to be brought down by Byram just outside the box but the referee waves it away.
    • 63' Lennon cuts in from the right but gets no power in his shot that trickles safely to Ashdown.
    • 62' The tackles flying in this second-half. It is, to use a cliché, 'a proper Cup tie'
    • 60' Great cheers from the home fans as Michael Brown goes in hard to win the ball from Dempsey.
    • 59' Obika and Dembele on for Huddlestone and Sigurdsson.
    • 58' GOAL TOTTENHAM! They are back in it. Bale manages to fire in a superb cross for the left despite two men on him and Clint Dempsey just guides it into the top corner with a classy header. Lovely goal.
    • 57' Young striker Jonathan Obika is also going to be coming on for Tottenham.
    • 56' Diouf's pass to Byram has a little too much on it – ending a chance Tottenham chance to attack.
    • 55' Villas-Boas is giving instructions to Dembele now – no surprise to see him.
    • 54 GREAT CHANCE FOR SPURS!!!! Naughton puts Lennon free down the right with a lovely pass – Lennon then puts in a low cross but Dempsey can't get a proper contact on it from close range as it goes wide.
    • 52' It looks for a moment like Lennon is clear but he is correctly flagged offside. Surely Spurs must bring on Dembele?
    • 51' GOAL LEEDS – Stunning stuff from McCormack - a simply ball from Diouf puts him away but he still has Caulker in front of him. However, he checks onto his left foot and curls a superb strike around Caulker and Friedel and into the top corner of the net.
    • 49' Bale gets Tottenham's first attack of the half going but Sigurdsson is then defended well.
    • 48' Now Vertonghen has to clean up his own mess after making a hash of a header back – looked like it hit his arm too but the Belgian gets away with it.
    • 47' Tottenham give the ball away very cheaply and Varney is allowed to run into the box again – Huddlestone with a good sliding tackle though. Half-hearted appeals for a penalty but nothing wrong with that.
    • 47' Bright start to the half from Leeds who win an early corner but Spurs defend it.
    • 46' And the second-half is underway – no changes from either side.
    • - As good a first half as Leeds could have hoped for - they're 1-0 up and looking comfortable. Every chance of yet another surprise result this weekend.
    • 45'+2 Bale intercepts the throw and hits on the break, but it's a poor ball in from the right and the whistle goes moments later.
    • 45'+2 Last chance of the half will fall to Leeds, McCormack beating Vertonghen on the left and earning a throw in right by the corner.
    • 45'+1 Nervous moments for Spurs there - two extra minutes before they can get back into the changing room to regroup.
    • 45' Fabulous chance for Leeds! A long ball upfield is nodded on by Diouf and releases McCormack, who just has Friedel to beat - but the American keeper holds his ground and makes a fine save!
    • 44' A couple of big tackles go in in quick succession, and both Sigurdsson and Parker get hurt. Sigurdsson goes off for treatment.
    • 43' Spurs hit on the break only for Peltier to clear upfield - but Caulker is up the other end to do likewise.
    • 42' It's walloped in by Peltier and Varney gets on the end of it, but Vertonghen steps up to clear.
    • 41' Foul on Brown gives Leeds a free kick in the middle of the park. Chance for an attack.
    • 40' Leeds fans still in fine voice, confident that their men will go into the break a goal to the good.
    • 39' Clint Dempsey has a long-range dig from almost 30 yards, but it's straight at Ashdown and taken safely.
    • 38' Half chance falls to Leeds as McCormack gets on to the end of a speculative long ball with a nice piece of contrl - he claims to have been fouled as he hit his weak shot well wide of the left upright, but ref not impressed.
    • 37' Bale penalised again for a shove in the back of White - even more blatant this time, and the ref has a word even if he refuses to give out a yellow.
    • 36' It's actually just a throw rather than a corner - taken by Caulker to Bale, but quickly lost.
    • 35' Corner for Spurs conceded by Byram as he clears Bale's ball in.
    • 34' Bale penalised for a shove in the back on Aidan White - the Welshman not impressed, claiming that the Leeds defender went to ground too early.
    • 33' Aaron Lennon makes a run down the left and finds space as he cuts inside, but his final attempt is a weak shot straight at Ashdown.
    • 32' Mazy run by Dempsey sees him beat three men and get into the box, but he runs out of space to shoot and his ball back is closed down by the defence.
    • 30' Superb run by Bale up he right, beating two men - and staying on his feet, unusually - to cut inside and take on Ashdown in a one-on-one. But he tries, and fails, to beat the keeper when a ball back to Dempsey could have meant a great chance at goal.
    • 29' Lennon tries to work an opening on the left, but Byram is there to clear off the pitch.
    • 28' The free kick from the foul on Diouf comes to nothing, Tom Lees blasting it straight off the pitch.
    • 27' Scott Parker given a talking to by the referee after El-Hadji Diouf gets pulled down in the middle of the park.
    • 26' Spurs make another move up the right with Huddlestone delivering one for Dempsey, but it's cut out by Ashdown.
    • 25' Bale tries to chase another long ball up through the middle, but it goes behind for a goal kick.
    • 23' Chance of an opening for Spurs as Assou-Ekotto delivers a ball through the middle, but it's straight at Leeds keeper Jamie Ashdown.
    • 22' Half-way through the half, and the goal has settled this match down in Leeds' favour: they look the more comfortable and dangerous right now, with Spurs defenders backing off nervously.
    • 21' Another chance falls to Varney after El Hadji Diouf's nice work on the right sees him deliver a ball in. McCormack plays it back to Varney who shoots from 15 yards, but he can't keep it down this time.
    • 20' Why are footballers so bad at getting their feet around the right side of the ball in that position? Assou Ekotto was closer to hitting the floodlights than the back of the net...
    • 19' Assou-Ekotto released to take a shot after a nice ball by Naughton, but he slices it high and left.
    • 18' Spurs hit back as the game restarts, with Sigurdsson getting his head on a cross only to see it float well over the bar.
    • 16' Beautiful work by Varney - nerveless stuff as he cut inside from the left and calmly wrong-footed Friedel. The home fans are going crazy already, already anticipating a great Cup day.
    • 15' GOAL! It's Luke Varney! A long ball up the park from Michael Brown releases Varney, who has McCormack in support in the middle - but Varney goes it alone, and lashes home past Friedel!
    • 14' Great chance opens up for Leeds on the break - Varney released up the left!
    • 13' First half-chance for Leeds as Paul Green whips in a beautiful ball from the right flank. Ross McCormack is in the six-yard box for it, but Brad Friedel gets there first to collect.
    • 12' Sigurdsson thinks he's won another corner as he tangles with Aidan White, but the ref signals a goal kick. Spurs looking comfortably on top in these opening minutes now.
    • 11' The corner is finally pinged in and it finds Dempsey with a free header - but he's unable to get over it, and heads miles over the bar.
    • 10' Assou-Ekotto takes his time setting it up...
    • 9' Another corner for Spurs, conceded by Sam Byram.
    • 8' Omens look good for Spurs today: they've lost just once against lower league opposition in their last 37 matches in the FA Cup.
    • 7' Another half-chance for Spurs as Clint Dempsey latches onto a ball out to the right from Parker - he cuts in and shoots, but drags it well off target across the goal.
    • 6' Assou-Ekotto takes the corner, but floats the ball way too far and the chance is over.
    • 5' Half-chance for Bale as he makes a run into the box, and only a perfect tackle by Lee Peltier stops him getting a shot away. Corner.
    • 3' No chances so far, but plenty of industry on both sides in the early stages, with Leeds clearly eyeing yet another upset this weekend.

  6. Agree with Geoff below - have said this right from the start - AVB = failure.....totally naive and unproven in the English game - failed at Chelski and now will do the same with Spurs........bad tactics, bad team choice & to be honest, a bad manager...........should never have been given the job - love or hate Harry, the team he produced climbed the ladder, now it is stagnant again under AVB.
