Wayne Rooney scored, but missed a penalty, as Manchester United beat West Ham United 1-0 in their FA Cup third round replay at Old Trafford. More
90+5' There's the final whistle, and without excelling Manchester United have done enough to set up a fourth round tie against Fulham.
90+1' From OptaJoe: 8 - Paul Scholes has collected eight yellow cards in his past 14 appearances for Man Utd. Roughhouse.
89' This is the bit where we talk about Paul Scholes learning to tackle (aged 38) - he takes out Matt Taylor and that's a booking.
79' MISSED!! Rooney skies the penalty; he sidefoots it and gets right underneath the ball sending it high into the crowd!
79' PENALTY MANCHESTER UNITED! Jordan Spence handles Giggs's cross and Phil Dowd points to the spot! Probably a fair decision.
78' Man Utd: Paul Scholes replaces Nani; West Ham: Elliott Lee replaces Ricardo Vaz Te.
77' Jordan Spence clatters Buttner and that's another booking. No argument from the West Ham man. It was late and crude.
75' Yellow card Nolan for mouthing off to Phil Dowd.
67' Manchester United: Michael Carrick on for Anderson.
65' West Ham changes: Jack Collison and Kevin Nolan on for Carlton Cole and Mohamed Diame.
64' Chance for Matt Taylor as Vaz Te backheels it into his path, but he blazes the shot over! West Ham getting closer.
61' A Jones slip lets Taylor in... he tries to square the ball when he could have a go at goal... and United clear. That was a real chance.
50' And West Ham might feel aggrieved as a replay of West Ham's last attack showed Rafael apparently controlling the ball with his arm inside the box. Should West Ham have had a penalty? It certainly looks like it.
49' HERNANDEZ!! What a miss! He robs Diarra after the West Ham man misontrols, he races through on goal and puts his shot over! You would bet your house on him finishing that.
46' Right then, off we go. West Ham kick the second half off but are immediately under pressure as a shanked clearance lands to Nani... he can't make anything of the opportunity.
45+1' That's half time, and Manchester United are a goal to the good courtesy of the returning Wayne Rooney.
42' Rooney!! Hits a dipping 25-yarder that has Jaaskelainen springing low to his right to make a decent two-handed save.
19' Nice stat from OptaJoe: 1 - Man Utd haven't lost an FA Cup game at home when scoring since losing 2-1 to Norwich in Feb 1967 (68 games since). Fortress.
12' More importantly, Richard Jolly reports on Twitter: "Man Utd beat West Ham 5-3 in test of toughness. Giggs, Jones, Anderson, Buttner and Rafael in short sleeves & no gloves." Two Brazilians...
9' GOAL!! Wayne Rooney on his return from injury, and it couldn't be easier! Hernandez races through the left channel and squares to Rooney who has an open goal!
1' And we're off! Manchester United kick off, playing from left to right as we see it.

78′ Sentiments apart Rooney is one of the strikers. If he misses penalties,he still scored the winning goal.
Need to improve and spend some cash before window closes A L.Wing, strong DMF, and a CB. is the minimum Out ; Welbeck, Kagawa
Don't worry Stanislaw, if Arsenal keep improving as they are, who knows, they may be able to challenge for the league cup in five years time.
SUPERMAN Sorry fans, but I missed the blatant handball that Raphael got away with bwcause O'Dowd missed the appeaLS FROM WEST HAM PLAYERS , EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS UP ON THE REPLAY , COPY OF HENRI-TYPE OF HANDBALL , SNEAKY BRAZILIAN UNITED-TAUGHT PLAYER...........strauight out of United training ground , how to avoid ref. seeing your handball defensive mechanism , turn your back to him!"
F......U Alex. So quiet when his team or him are cheating with the game. Why say not thing about the handball. Oh I see because his team won. That how Manu you survive most of the game because their spirit are just Alex !!
A Dismal game, Man Utd just about did enough, the pitch is the worst I've seen for years, it could be seen that some players were returning from injury and where defiantly not ready to throw everything into the game I'm just glad it didn't go into extra time.
So many comments from people who have no idea of the rules especially the offside rule, Would suggest that you make sure of your facts before writing rubbish on here and making fools of yourselves. As for the match it was a poor display by United who looked lethargic with the exception of Giggs who was running around like a 20 year old still with the skill and speed to beat defenders. The only other player who was at the races was Smalling who had a great game in the centre of defence. Hernandez was always dangerous but needs to time his runs a little better but is still dangerous and difficult to mark. West Ham created a few chances but had no one to finish off the move. United need to improve to win the league or any trophy this year
Positives, Giggs rolled back the years yet again and was magnificent, putting younger lads to shame and Smalling was immense in the air, he was first to every ball all night he looks a very classy player
ronney is playing rubbish these days,if he plays 5 penalties,if he scores 2,he is very lucky,i hope that old man will find a better person that can do that work well for us,oh i forgot vanpersi can and better than that fat player ronney.
Sorry...what did you expect when you face united with dodd as a ref? To obvious united will win...and yup hernandez 50-50 offside, but as usual linesman just too soft. See you...VCC
with united top of the premier league playing the football they play week after week, the league must be in decline
Stanislaw, you think you can get carded for being offside. You know nothing about football. Everyone here knows it. Why do you bother posting? You just make a fool out of yourself every time.
SUPERMAN Its happening at every United match ........firstly, they are blessed with getting one of a set of favourable refs. by the Prof.Refs.Assoc. , once again , so soon after having Webb.............guess who O'Dowd , a Northerner who likes a chat to United players before the match , next he will be invited by Fergie for a coffee after the match review , while he is waiting for 9/10 for refeering the match . Secondly , how many yellow cards has one got to get before you are banned for 2/3 matches 5 or 6 , yet according to the football pundits he is up to 9 now , who is running the review system , Fergie again. Thirdly , was the ref. and the linesman at fault for letting Hernandez be offside and still get a twelling pass to Rooney to score , how come neither of them picked up th BLATANT OFFSIDE and disallowed the goal , Hernandez is taking the p*** TO THE OFFSIDE RULE , AT EVERY ATTACK HE WAS CONSTANTLY OFFSIDE WHEN THE BALL WAS KICK FORWARD YET , EVEN THOUGH HE DIDN'T GET THE PASS , HE STILL TRANSGRESSES THE RULE , WHY CAN ONLY UNITED PLAYERS GET AWAY WITH THIS. Fourthly , he scores an offside goal and slams the ball away , blatant disregard for O'Dowd's officiating yet Little Pea is getting away with it , why is the rule constantly broken by United players...........who are laughing at the ref. Fifthly, the handball against West Ham was just waiting for O'Dowd to give United a two-goal advantage , yet Shrek Rooney missed............................justice has been done because ball into hand not hand to ball has won ......O'Dowd again has got something to regret and Fergie is being rude in the extreme on way down to the changing room............his team were lucky again..................they are mediocre?
yeh mr mark, your a chump just like your mother
Skid Mark
Also, it's spelled disgusting, not discusting.
Rooney has not given value for his wages since the beginning of dec looks overweight, unfit also nani & anderson should be off loaded as soon as possible too many players since being at united are now to lazy & need to pull there socks up
Hey Clarice, it was a miserable cold night against a side who probably didn't want to be there either. Job done and hopefully we'll have a better game next time. There were no injuries and a couple of the returning lads got a run out. Some of the lads who needed it got a night off. Although it was horrible to watch it's all good in the end.
worst game i've seen in ages, west ham deserved to win, pitch #$%$, ref #$%$, rooney really #$%$, never allow the ugly granny shaggin #$%$, to wear an england shirt again, because he was allowed to play in the euro's we went out, its about time the whole of england stopped blowin up his #$%$
Yeah, yeah, yeah, keep wet dreaming Ian. He'll be around to shove it up you for a long time to come yet.
