    • 84' There must be some tired legs out there for Oldham but they are still fighting. Oldham fans unhappy as Distin barges into Furman on the edge of the box but that is because Simpson had pushed the Everton defender.
    • 83' JELAVIC MISSES A GREAT CHANCE TO CLINCH IT – Gibson slipped him in with a great pass, Jelavic made a super run but fired just over after bearing down on goal.
    • 82' Brown seems to be barged into by Oviedo but no free kick.
    • 81' EXCELLENT SAVE FROM HOWARD – Oldham worked the ball excellently to Simpson who laid it across to Smith. He worked a bit of space for himself on the edge of the area. He fired a low shot towards the corner but the American keeper got down to make a great save.

    • 71' Poor cross into the box from Tarkowski ends a little spell of Oldham pressure.
    • 70' Obita with a good ball into the box that is not easy for Jagielka to deal with. Oldham growing in confidence all the time.
    • 69' Oldham fans have been signing the theme from the Great Escape non-stop for over 15 minutes.
    • 68' Oldham creeping back into this game – Everton need to be careful.
    • 67' Baxter fires a half volley over the bar. He did well to control the ball but never a threat to Tim Howard's goal.
    • 66' Dean Furman coming on for James Wesolowski. Furman is the club captain and a South African international.
    • 65' Baxter free down the left but his cross is poor and goes straight into the arms of Howard. They will really look to get balls into the box now Smith is on.
    • 64' Mirallas with a left foot volley after a cross comes into the box. Wesolowski blocks and then clears while under pressure from Jelavic.
    • 62' Mirallas with a left foot volley after a cross comes into the box. Wesolowski blocks and then clears while under pressure from Jelavic.
    • 61' Here comes the two goal hero against Liverpool – 6' 6" Matt Smith – Chris Iwelumo goes off.
    • 61' Obita nicks Neville in possession down the left but he tries a quick shot when a cross or pass might have been better.
    • 60' Another SUPERB corner from Mirrallas and Osman just can't quite get on it. He whips them in like Andy Hinchcliffe used to.
    • 59' Lee Croft has to race back and help with defending after Everton quickly turned defence into attack when Osman nicked Baxter in possession.
    • 58' Oldham's fans have recovered from the goal even if the team haven't. An incessant drum beat helping them keep their voices.
    • 57' Peinaar does well to spot a good run from Jelavic but it needs a curling pass that the South African can't quite deliver while off balance.
    • 56' Resulting free-kick though is straight into the arms of Howard.
    • 55' Matt Smith – who scored twice against Liverpool – is warming up – he is just returning from an injury.
    • 54' Matt Smith – who scored twice against Liverpool – is warming up – he is just returning from an injury.
    • 52' Pienaar shows fancy feet to get to the edge of the box – he plays a one-two with Fellaini and digs out a low shot but Bouzanis got down well to save.
    • 51' It is the Everton fans that you can hear singing now – have Oldham got the belief to get back into this?
    • 50' That's Jagielka's first FA Cup goal for Everton.
    • 49' AND EVERTON HAVE SCORED!!! From the corner Jagielka has headed home despite being under great pressure. Superb corner from Mirallas and Bouzanis came out to try and gather but Jagielka nodded it home ahead of him.
    • 48' Bright start to the half for Everton who have just won a corner.
    • 47' Osman slips in Baines down the left and Fellaini is crying out for the ball but the cross is poor.
    • 46' And we are back underway.
    • 46' Mirallas coming on at half-time for Anichebe who picked up a knock near the end of the half. The Belgian will go wide and his countryman Fellaini will move further forward.
    • HT Everton finish the half passing the ball around but then Distin shanks a ball out for a throw and the referee whistle from half-time. Entertaining half of football.
    • 45' Two extra minutes
    • 44' Anichebe gets to a ball just ahead of Bouzanis but there is not enough space for him to get a decent contact on the ball and it goes wide.
    • 43' Long ball and flick looks all set to put Jelavic away but his first touch is heavy and it gets away from him…that was a real chance.
    • 42' A long throw from Neville goes deep inside the Oldham box after a bounce but Wesolowski clears the danger.
    • 41' A little bit of an opening for Pienaar but he fires a shot well over the bar.
    • 40' Fellaini gets a header on a looping cross and directs towards the corner of the net but it lands on the roof of the net. Hard to get much power on that.
    • 39' Gibson's cross is just a little too high for Jelavic but Brown is then a bit unsure of what to do and puts it out for a corner.
    • 38' The long ball is being used a lot by both teams – Everton playing quite direct when a bit of quality might be called for.
    • 37' Wesolowski slides in very well and stops an Everton counter after Obita had given the ball away cheaply.
    • 36' The Latics have won just three of their last 12 (in all competitions). However, two of those wins have come in the last three.
    • 35' Well it has been a lively encounter but we have gone through a dead couple of minutes – seems like everyone has taken a bit of a break – including the previously noisy fans.
    • 33' Howard has to race out a gather a ball with the lively Bernard buzzing around.
    • 32' Pienaar sends Jelavic away and free but the Croat striker is JUST offside.
    • 31' Baxter though can only fire into the wall.
    • 30' Distin charged with handball just outside the D – chance for Oldham to get a shot on goal here. Jose Baxter fancies it against his old club.
    • 29' Lee Croft does very well to track Baines, nick possession and then get fouled by the Everton full-back.
    • 28' Very physical contest this and referee Phil Dowd is allowing that to be the case. Ironic cheers from the home fans as Anichebe is finally whistled for a foul.
    • 26' Well certainly a lively opening 26 minutes to this Cup tie. Action at both ends.
    • 25' OFF THE POST FROM OLDHAM – Everton never deal with a long throw into the box – it comes out to Obita inside the box on the left – he curls the ball low towards the corner, it takes a deflection and comes off the post.
    • 24' GOAL EVERTON!!! They are back level as Anichebe smashes into the net from just inside the area. He overpowered M'Voto to get to Jelavic's knock on and then fired home an excellent low finish.
    • 23' Everton having most of the play as you would expect but Oldham are holding firm so far.
    • 21' Some suggestions that Obita was offside for the goal but replays show he might just have been level.
    • 21' M’Voto with a good defensive header ahead of Jelavic.
    • 20' Brown with a good header away after Pienaar fired the free kick across with pace.
    • 19' Everton with a spell in and around the Oldham box – Baines has now been fouled down the left just outside the box.
    • 17' Jelavic wins a free kick near the right corner. Gibson with a good delivery but everybody misses it.
    • 16' Obita got a little knock but he is okay now and back on the pitch.
    • 15' Obita – on loan from Reading – has got the goal superb run from him to get on to the cross from Croft– he is only 19 – can Oldham shock the other Merseyside giant?
    • 14' GOAL FOR OLDHAM!!! A stunning and quick counter attack move and Jordan Obita has put them in front. An Everton corner broke down and Lee Croft raced clear. Leon Osman got too close to him and fell to the ground allowing Croft go clear. He then put in a perfect low cross and Obita was there to side-foot home.
    • 12' Baines with the attempt it clips a head in the wall and goes out for a corner.
    • 11'' Bouzanis makes a hash of a free-kick and Osman can run to near the D before he gets fouled. Very central and this one is in Baines and Gibson territory.
    • 10' Very good defensive work from Grounds who steps up and gets to the ball ahead of Jelavic.
    • 9' Distin misjudges a ball into the box and it nearly falls for Bernard but just too much on it.
    • 8' Jelavic is found just on the edge of the box by Pienaar but the ball gets stuck under the feet of the out-of-form Croat striker.
    • 7' Free is knocked out to Neville who crosses from a better angle but it goes straight into the arms of Bouzanis.
    • 6' Osman fouled 35 yards out in a central position. Probably just a little too far out for Baines – expect a ball into the box.
    • 5' Not a perfect pitch but nothing that should cause Everton too many problems if they want to try and pass it.
    • 4' Scrappy start to the match – the ball spending a lot of time down the Everton left. Oldham looking to launch long balls.
    • 3' The last time the sides met, Oldham left Goodison Park with 1-0 win in the FA Cup third round in 2008.
    • 2' Bouzanis slides out of his goal and gathers the ball when it looked for a moment like Jelavic might get through.
    • 1' And Everton get us underway…
    • 17:57 The teams coming out now – Everton wearing white tonight.
    • 17:55 Phil Dowd is the referee for today's game.
    • 17:50 Everton typically around 1/3 favourites with the bookmakers. Oldham are available at as a big as 10/1 while the draw is 5/1.
    • 17:45 Nikica Jelavic is back in the team. David Moyes spoke of him in the build-up saying: "I don’t know what it does for anybody but you hope that they sit back and look at exactly what they have to do to get back into the team and get their real form back. It’s part of football. Hopefully when he gets his opportunity he will be ready to take it. Maybe a little bit of a rest at times can help.”
    • 17:40 Tony Philliskirk: “If there is any pressure on Jose (Baxter, formerly of Everton), it will only be that which he puts on himself. There is none from us. When I have been involved with the first team over the last few weeks, I have told him to go out and express himself, to show people what a good player he is. He has trained like a Trojan this week and is potentially a very good player, but one who needs a little push every now and again.”
    • 17:35 Oldham have changed their manager since that fourth round win, of course. Paul Dickov paid the price for the club's woeful league form and has been replaced by caretaker Tony Philliskirk. The new man presided over a 3-1 win aganist MK Dons last Saturday, their first League One win since December 8.
    • 17:30 The big news for te home side is that striker Matt Smith returns. He scored twice against Liverpool, but has not played since due to a shoulder injury.
    • 17:25 Oldham are in the last 16 courtesy of their remarkable fourth round win over Liverpool - can they complete sensational upsets of both big Merseyside clubs tonight?
    • 17:20 OLDHAM: Bouzanis, Brown, Grounds, Wesolowski, M’Voto, Tarkowski, Croft, Iwelumo, Obita, Barnard, Baxter... Subs: Cisak, Furman, Simpson, Matt Smith, Byrne, Millar, Winchester. // EVERTON: Howard, Neville, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Osman, Pienaar, Gibson, Fellaini, Anichebe, Jelavic... Subs: Mucha. 3. Hold on . .. to listen to the lesser Scousers, Moyes is some kind of god. What has gone wrong? Is it that, despite being at the club for many, many years he's been unable to sign a decent striker, defensive midfielder and centre half. Moyes is the biggest myth in management. He has spent money. His club are always 'nearly there' yet he's incabaple of taking them to the next step. Still, he's ginger and Scotch so let's pretend that he's amazing when he's actually won #$%$ all.
