    • 43' Everton clear that but Scharner has stayed up, flicking a volley that initially looks goalbound but is going well wide.
    • 42' Wigan have a corner on the left and again Friend has to speak to jostling players... Maloney to take...

    • 31' GOAL WIGAN! WHAT A GOAL FROM MCMANAMAN! Neville with a terrible pass to put McManaman through and he gets clear of the defence before lashing a ferocious finish past Mucha into the bottom left! 2-0!
    • 30' GOAL WIGAN! Figueroa heads it home from the corner and the visitors lead! Terrible marking, he got away from Osman and no-one followed him.
    • 29' Robles gets grief from the home fans for delaying the free-kick - he wants to know where to take it from but the ref is still talking to Mirallas. As he does send it upfield, Wigan win a free-kick on the left. The free-kick is cleared, but the loose ball drops to MCCARTHY WITH A SUPER STRIKE BUT TIPPED BEHIND BY MUCHA! Great save!
    • 28' Figueroa slips while trying to clear, Beausejour cleans up though and earns a free-kick off Mirallas, who is convinced the challenge was fair and he should have a throw.
    • 27' Fellaini combines nicely with Mirallas but the return ball sees Fellaini's control let him down.
    • 25' Gomez tries to release Beausejour down the left but the ball skips off the wet surface and out for a goal kick.
    • 24' Pienaar with a cute pass to release an overlapping Baines, but his cross is blocked; the loose ball drops to Neville some way out but he hits a rising drive well wide.
    • 23' Baines swings a free-kick in for Fellaini to knock down, but Jelavic's volley is well over.
    • 22' Kone reacts with a mixture of anger and bemusement as he is called offside - he is bemused because he was in his own half when the ball was played.
    • 20' I say that and then McManaman gives it away to Fellaini, one touch from him with Jelavic sending a rasping first-time drive that Robles does really well to save!
    • 19' Wigan have shaded this so far, they do not remotely look like a team battling the drop.
    • 18' Coleman slips in possession and Maloney races away down the left, superb cross with his left AND KONE FLIES IN BUT HE HEADS OVER! Should have scored!
    • 17' Osman rages at Friend after being penalised for a trip on McManaman. He could talk himself into the book here but Friend calms him down.
    • 16' Beausejour sends the corner deep but Alcaraz's header back across goal drops well wide.
    • 15' Down the other end Gomez wins a Wigan corner off Neville. More even an encounter than these sides' league standings would suggest.
    • 14' Baines swings the corner in but it's a touch too deep, coming off a stretching Jelavic and behind for a goal kick.
    • 13' Jelavic nabs a corner off Alcaraz, somewhat fortunately as the ball shaved the Paraguay defender's boot as Jelavic miscontrolled it.
    • 12' A promising spell of possession for Wigan ends as Figueroa hammers a long shot well wide. He's made them count before!
    • 11' Jelavic has a pop at the linesman after he flags Pienaar offside. Friend orders Jelavic away.
    • 10' Maloney pops up on the left wing, he beats one man, cuts inside Pienaar AND UNLEASHES A BEAUTY OFF THE BAR! What a strike, and it's still alive but lands too wide for Kone to finish and Everton scramble clear!

Scharner is dazed but okay and the fans are frankly short of understanding the rules if they're going to boo the ref for that. It was a head injury, who cares if it came from a shot on target?
    • 5' Kevin Friend has a chat with Gomez after a late one on Neville, who he didn't catch but - as is Neville's fashion these days - the Everton man went down flamboyantly.

  1. Good and frustrating Wigan. They can turn it on to­ pull out a good result against a top team but then they­ turn it off again to often and end up in a relegation­ battle. I think they may have gone to the well to many­ times and may go down this season.

    Dire performance - worst for YEARS - against a dreadful­ team probably going down playing the game of their­ lives. Not helped by a officials who allowed constant­ fouling, elbows, pushes by Wigan 'defenders' to­ go unpunished. Mucha practically wrestled to the ground­ at corners will need to carry a tazer for­ self-protection if joke refs can't do it for him.

Time to say goodbye, Moyes is scared to death of­ losing, all the sad ex pro's say he is the best­ manager in the premier league, okay let's put that­ to bed. 417 league games 558 goals for 1.33 per game­ against 498 goals 1.19 per game and a win ratio of 42%­ plus the only team in history to qualify for the­ champions league with a goal difference of minus one.­ Try watching us, the minute we score he drops everyone­ behind the ball, he could turn Messi into a full back.
