    • - Well there wasn't much of that! The ref blows and Arsenal are the winners of the Emirates Cup 2009!
    • 90' Patient Arsenal build-up ends with a poor ball from Denilson and we're into time added on.
    • 88' Wilshere gets man of the match again and who could argue with that? Surely Capello must be liking what he sees today.
    • 87' Chance for Rangers! Miller on the right side of the area chooses to shoot and drags his effort wide when a square ball was surely the option!
    • 86' Two players at the opposite end of the age spectrum clash. Weir and Wilshere involved there with Weir coming off worst!
    • 83' Rosicky almost collects the ball in a great position, but narrowly misses out. The game over as a contest now with Arsenal looking to add a fourth.
    • 82' Wilshere, who is looking for his hat-trick is penalised for an over-enthusiastic lunge in midfield.
    • 81' That's a free kick to Rangers though as McGregor takes a hit.
    • 80' Another corner for Arsenal. Only their second of the game.
    • 79' Traore draws cheers from the Arsenal faithful as he outwits Mendes by his own corner flag.
    • 78' Important interception from Mendes in his own area as Arsenal close in on a fourth goal.
    • 76' Rangers still pressing despite the scoreline and they make progress down the right unitl Rosicky intervenes.
    • 74' Rosicky is on now for Arsenal and takes the armband from Fabregas as Arsenal ease toward another Emirates Cup trophy.
    • 71' Bougherra it was who tried to usher the ball out and ended up losing it, but what a great finish again from Wilshire.
    • 71' GOAL!! Another for Wilshire! Not the best defending and Watt sets up Wilshire who hammers it home! 3-0 Arsenal.
    • 70' Fabregas and Watt set up Denilson, whose finish is rather wild to say the least!
    • 69' Good move involving Bougherra and Mendes allows Naismith to break clear of the Arsenal defence, but he's just offside.
    • 66' Rangers making this a better game now and this is end to end stuff. Novo looks dangerous down the right for them.
    • 64' More subs from Arsenal and they have another free kick, which is cleared by Miller.
    • 61' Rangers should have scored! Song slips and lets Davis in, who passes to Naismith. Almunia makes the save though!
    • 60' Another nice move from Rangers ends with a neat flick from Davis that doesn't unduly worry Almunia.
    • 58' Rangers much more competitive now and Naismith just fails to reach a through ball that Almunia has to be sharp to clear.
    • 56' Mendes hits the post for Rangers, but he's adjudged to be offside. He looked level to me.
    • 54' Neat footwork from Eduardo brings the crowd to life, but the move comes to nothing for Arsenal.
    • 51' Arsenal hit back and Wilshire has a go from the edge of the area after some more neat footwork. The effort is narrowly wide.
    • 50' Much better start to the second half by Rangers and Naismith was almost in, but Song and Almunia combine to thwart the visitors.
    • 48' Merida has another shot at goal and this time forces McGregor into a save diving to his right.
    • 46' We're underway again at The Emirates after a host of half time substitutions and it's Kenny Miller into the action straight away.
    • - That's the final action of the first half. Back with more in 15 minutes as Arsenal lead 2-0.
    • 45' Eduardo played in brilliantly by Arshavin, but it was just too close to the keeper for Eduardo to poke goalbound.
    • 44' Rangers' fifth corner is an easy one for Almunia to collect.
    • 43' Brilliant from Wilshere! He takes it past three and hits a delightful chip that McGregor can only stretch to tip over. Great stuff fromthe 17-year-old!
    • 42' That's a better ball and Bougherra has a chance but it's blocked. Arsenal a bit shaky in defence there.
    • 41' Davis takes it and that's poor. It's a Rangers corner though.
    • 40' Free kick to Rangers in a good position after Silvestre is penalised.
    • 39' Eduardo tries a back heel from a Clichy cross, but it doesn't quite come off this time.
    • 37' Lafferty is adjudged offside and on the counter Merisa has another dig from distance. Should have done better there as it slices wide.
    • 36' Arshavin tries to notch from the acutest of angles wide on the left wing. No chance from there!
    • 36' Great passing move from Arsenal again ends this time with a tackle on Merisa onthe edge of the area.
    • 34' Lafferty is chasing shadows up front on his own at the moment and he fails to reach another speculative through ball.
    • 33' Merida almost sets up Eduardo in space just in front of goal, but the Croatian just can't reach the ball.
    • 32' Silvestre gets a whack in the face from Lafferty's boot and that'll be a free kick.
    • 30' Merida has a pop from around 30 yards with his left foot and it goes just wide of McGregor's left hand post.
    • 28' Typically Arsenal go straight on the counter attack and almost create a great chance of their own, but the final ball is overhit.
    • 27' Almost an own goal there from Silvestre! His clearance far too close to Almunia's left hand post for comfort.
    • 26' Eboue's intended through ball goes horribly wrong and that'll be a goal kick.
    • 24' Fabregas penalised for a foul around 35 yards out and Rangers try to build from the position, but the ball is cleared.
    • 23' Thompson loses the ball in midfield and concedes a free kick to get Arsenal going again.
    • 21' The delivery from Fabregas hits the wall and it's cleared. Rangers fans still in full voice despite the deficit in the scoreline.
    • 20' The former Arsenal skipper looks to be limping, but it seems OK for the moment, as they have a free kick.
    • 19' Song gets Mendes's delivery clear though and Arsenal may have an injury concern over Gallas.
    • 19' A rare Rangers attack gains them a corner..
    • 17' Arsenal look dangerous every time they come forward and Rangers need to get into this game very quickly. The hosts have lots of time and space in the middle of the park at the moment.
    • 15' Thompson gives the ballaway dangerously to Eduardo and is fortunate that Arshavin's delivery didn't reach it's target it the box.
    • 13' Brilliant start from Arsenal then and Rangers are shellshocked!
    • 11' GOAL!!2-0 Arsenal! Nice ball from Merida sets up Eduardo in acres of space and he sidefoots the ball wide of McGregor and off the post into the net.
    • 9' Free kick to Arsenal, conceded by Mendes, but Fabregas' delivery is cleared and the ball ends upin the arms of McGregor.
    • 8' Naismith gets an elbow in the head from Fabregas, but he's ok.
    • 7' Almunia nearly makes a mess of sheperding the ball out for a goal kick, but the ref comes to the keeper's rescue.
    • 6' Very lively start here and Eduardo sneaks through into the penalty area, but he can't quite get his shot away.
    • 5' Davis tries to get things going for Arsenal, but the ball through to Lafferty cathes the striker just offside.
    • 3' Arshavin was the architect of the goal and the Rangers keeper will feel surely he should have done better with the finish.
    • 2' GOAL!! You can't believe it! It's Wilshire with it! Bit scrappy in the end but nice enough finish from the youngster.
    • 1' We're underway with Rangers immediately on the attack, but Silvestre gets itclear.
    • - Looks like the 'evergreen' David Weir is leading the Rangers team out asthe players emerge from the tunnel.
    • - Jack Wilshere starts for Arsenal and Kyle Lafferty looks like he's going to be up front on his own for Rangers.
    • - There's lots of Rangers fans in - around 10,000 apparently, which should make for a decent atmosphere this afternoon.
    • - The good news is that the sun is out today for a change - the pitch is even being watered!

  6. Mmmmm 317 hasn't really thought that one through. Rangers and Celtic do amazingly well considering the TV money they get and the poor teams they play every week, they never look out of place in the Champions league when they make it - even getting through the group stages a couple of times... If they ever played in the Premiership, their big crowds and fanbase would see them attract top players - they would be top half no problem. Just not with the players they have just now... They are MASSIVE clubs with huge support.
