    • 90+2' Celtic cannot muster a final opportunity to equalise, and Sunderland have clinched victory in this friendly match 2-1 courtesy of goals from Kieran Richardson and Kenwyne Jones. A second-half strike from Marc Crosas was not enough for Tony Mowbray's side to recover. Thanks for joining us.
    • 90+1' Maloney turns sharply on the edge of the penalty area, but his shot is blocked by Nosworthy as another chance peters out.
    • 90' Two minutes will be added at the end of this second half with Celtic still trailing 2-1 to Sunderland at Celtic Park.
    • 89' That really was a terrible piece of finishing from McDonald, who laughs to himself, as only you could get away with doing so in a pre-season friendly.
    • 88' What a dreadful miss from point-blank range by McDonald! Samaras does brilliantly to swivel and cross down the right, and the striker inexplicably puts his header wide from five yards!
    • 86' A wild mis-placed ball from Maloney gives Sunderland a chance to regroup inside their half, which they duly do through Ferdinand.
    • 85' Sunderland are battling hard to hang on to their slender lead, with Celtic scrapping for everything in midfield.
    • 84' Celtic are keeping the ball well inside the Sunderland half, but Maloney's wild shot shows a lack of cutting edge.
    • 83' Tainio defends stoutly as McGeady attempts to out-fox him down the right wing, and Sunderland look steady.
    • 82' Collins launches a ball upfield for Campbell, who has barely touched the ball since his introduction.
    • 81' Edwards is tracking back well for Sunderland from midfield, who are showing good levels of pre-season fitness at this late stage.
    • 80' Conroy replaces Fox for Celtic as Mowbray continues to make changes to his side.
    • 79' Samaras attempts an optimistic effort from the edge of the area for Celtic, but it never threatens to trouble Fulop.
    • 78' Maloney drops inside to link up the play as Celtic keep possession inside the Sunderland half.
    • 77' David Healy comes on, along with Nyron Nosworthy for Sunderland, as Steve Bruce rings the changes.
    • 76' Tainio replaces Leadbitter as Bruce makes another change.
    • 75' Sunderland are needing an injection of fresh legs, and Teemu Tainio is the man who is coming on.
    • 74' Maloney trots over to take a corner for his side, but Ferdinand jumps high to clear away to safety with his head.
    • 73' Samaras links up well with Maloney now to leave Richardson to scamper from one player to another, closing the ball down.
    • 72' McGeady and McDonald combine well for Celtic once more as they apply more concerted pressure with Sunderland under the cosh.
    • 71' Celtic are keeping possession well now after getting themselves back into the match, and Mowbray is on the edge of the touchline barking orders to his side
    • 70' Sunderland push Celtic back into their half after conceding that goal, and Steve Bruce does not look impressed after his defenders allowed Crosas to strike.
    • 69' GOAL!!! Crosas converts a rebound inside the box to narrow the deficit for Celtic, and that was an opportunist strike to get Tony Mowbray's side back in it.
    • 68' Celtic are pushing forward with good intensity and ensuring that Sunderland stay on the back foot
    • 66' McDonald is put through by McGeady and the ball falls to Maloney, but his shot is cleared off the line by Bardsley.
    • 65' Richardson takes the ball neatly in his stride and releases Bardsley down the right, but the defender mis-controls it and the chance is squandered.
    • 64' Fulop stalls over a goal kick to prompt Scott Brown to volley some verbals his way, and Celtic are keen to get back into this quickly.
    • 63' After the flurry of substitutions the game becomes pretty fragmented, but Loovens takes the ball down to calm things a bit.
    • 62' Steve Bruce brings on new signing Fraizer Campbell in place of the goalscorer Jones.
    • 61' McDonald, McGeady and McCourt are among the substitutions from Mowbray, who will be hoping to spark his side into action.
    • 59' Tony Mowbray is preparing a host of substitutions after his side's pretty poor start to this second half.
    • 58' Fine play from Malbranque makes O'Dea look like a statue at left-back, but his cross does not find its target in Jones.
    • 57' A stray pass from McCourt gifts the Black Cats the ball once more, and Ferdinand and Collins combine well to release Reid down the left.
    • 56' Sunderland have effectively kept possession ever since they doubled their lead, and Celtic are finding it incredibly difficult to get their foot on the ball.
    • 55' That was very shoddy marking from Celtic, who have struggled to contain Jones's physicality in attack all afternoon.
    • 54' GOAL!!! Kenwyne Jones, who has been a persistent threat for Steve Bruce's side, converts a free header to double Sunderland's lead! The striker was completely unmarked, and he puts away Andy Reid's pinpoint cross with minimal fuss.
    • 52' Steed Malbranque is looking particularly bright in midfield for the Black Cats, feeding Jones at every opportunity.
    • 50' Sunderland are beginning to find their way into this second half after Celtic have dominated it thus far.
    • 49' Caddis shows good confidence in pushing forward and latching on to a slick pass from Brown before having a crack from range. It goes wide, but it was good intent.
    • 48' Sunderland continue to keep possession very comfortably, with Malbranque finding Reid with a raking pass out to the left
    • 47' Fulop lumps a long ball upfield for Jones, but on many occasions the striker is left isolated as Sunderland look for their lone figure up front.
    • 46' The second half is underway at Celtic Park, and Sunderland are straight on the attack through Kenwyne Jones.
    • 45+1' After just 30 seconds were added by the referee, the players walk briskly off the field with a 12th-minute strike from Kieran Richardson separating the two sides in an action-packed first half.
    • 45' Jordan Henderson rattles the bar with a thunderous volley from the edge of the area, showing fine technique and comprehensively beating Zaluska.
    • 44' Talking of Reid, the midfielder takes the ball down and drills a vicious, curling effort to the left of Zaluska, who dives full length to palm away for a corner - that was a tremendous strike from the Irishman.
    • 44' Reid is playing pretty centrally and spraying the ball around to good effect for Sunderland, who continue to be on the front foot as we near the end of the first half.
    • 43' Mizuno is being marshalled very effectively by Bardsley as Celtic continue to look for the winger out on the left, but to no avail as yet.
    • 42' Ferdinand sweeps up at the back for Sunderland after Brown again finds himself in a forward position, pushing beyond the last man.
    • 41' Reid delivers another superb delivery to the back post where Jones rises above O'Dea to head across the six-yard box, but no Red and White shirt was there to meet it.
    • 40' Bardsley shows good strength in the box to jostle Brown fairly off the ball and give Fulop a goal kick to clear the danger - fine defending.
    • 39' A very robust challenge from Ferdinand on Mizuno concedes a corner, but Celtic feel that a penalty may have been on the cards - it wasn't.
    • 38' Sunderland have a corner on the left through Reid, but Zaluska does very well to clamber his way through a bunch of bodies to claim the testing cross.
    • 37' Danny Fox shows good confidence in powering forward from the back and striking a fierce effort narrowly wide of Fulop's far post.
    • 36' Brown is undeterred by his error, however, and brings the ball forward once more, before hanging a cross up to Mizuno, whose header is deflected behind for a corner.
    • 35' Brown loses the ball with a sloppy pass down the right to McCourt, and Sunderland break through Jones with real pace.
    • 34' Richardson has been very impressive playing just off Jones, and the midfielder charges back to make a clean challenge on McCourt.
    • 33' Steed Malbranque wins a corner for his side with some intricate footwork out on the right wing, and Reid will whip it in.
    • 32' Steve Bruce has high hopes for the progress of Jordan Henderson under his stewardship. Click here to view Henderson's profile
    • 31' Jordan Henderson receives a touch of light treatment after a knock, and a talking to by Bruce as the players grab a quick drink. This isn't cricket!
    • 30' Mizuno trots over to take a corner from the right on the half-hour mark, but he whips the ball too deep and Sunderland clear.
    • 29' Crosas takes the ball down on a sixpence in midfield as a high ball is punted up field by McCartney, and Celtic launch another attack.
    • 28' Flood is dropping further and further out on the right for Celtic as Brown takes control in the centre of the park. Sunderland are defending pretty deep.
    • 27' T R predicted prior to kick off that Celtic would win this match 3-1, well they have it all to do in that case. Mowbray's side are beginning to look more comfortable on the ball, however.
    • 26' The set-piece is wasted by Celtic, but the hosts regain possession through Brown in midfield, with Flood getting involved at every opportunity.
    • 25' Mizuno wins another free kick down the left for Celtic with Bardsley again the man to commit the indiscretion from full back.
    • 24' Take a look at the profile page of Sunderland's early goalscorer Kieran Richardson, by clicking here
    • 23' Jones is winning everything in the air for Sunderland, outmuscling Loovens, but the striker just has Richardson buzzing around at his feet to collect the bits and pieces.
    • 22' Ferdinand is the player who is gathering the ball at the back for Sunderland and spraying it around from deep, which is clearly something Bruce has highlighted.
    • 21' O'Dea hangs a good cross to the back post as he attempts to atone for his aberration in the 12th minute. Killen narrowly missed his header, but that is more promising for Celtic.
    • 20' It has to be noted that Chris Killen has barely touched the ball for Celtic thus far which will concern Tony Mowbray, whose side have not used their possession well at all.
    • 19' Celtic break through Flood down the right after a sustained spell of pressure from Sunderland, but Mizuno misses his shot at the back post.
    • 18' Willo Flood wins the ball well in midfield with Steed Malbranque dwelling on the ball for fractionally too long.
    • 17' Reid has a shot from the edge of the area which drifts narrowly wide after Jones knocks the ball down into his path.
    • 16' Scott Brown continues to hustle in midfield with real intent as Sunderland stroke the ball around confidently following Richardson's early strike.
    • 15' Danny Collins steals in at the back post after Reid loops an exquisite delivery from a free-kick over Loovens in a very dangerous position - good chance.
    • 14' Fulop takes his time over a goal kick to settle the Black Cats down after their early goal, and Steve Bruce is screaming at his 'keeper to direct his clearance better.
    • 13' Ferdinand hoofs the ball clear from the back as Mizuno clips an aimless cross into the box with only Killen anywhere near it.
    • 12' GOAL!!! Darren O'Dea is caught out at the back, and Richardson capitalises with a composed finish, sending Zaluska to ground and lifting the ball into the net with aplomb. Lovely finish!
    • 11' Sunderland continue to press forward in their droves, with the midfield supporting Jones very well from deep.
    • 9' Kieran Richardson storms clear down the right for Sunderland and, after collecting the ball crisply in his stride, drags his shot wide of the far post - good run, but a poor finish.
    • 8' Martin Fulop attempts to launch a goal kick up to Jones, who is getting into the game now, but this time Loovens climbs high to win the ball.
    • 7' Kenwyne Jones has a clear-cut opportunity to score for Sunderland, but the imposing striker heads over the bar after Reid had floated a delightful cross up to him at the back post.
    • 6' A strong challenge from Ferdinand is cleanly executed and the defender does well to regain possession for his side.
    • 5' Mowbray and Bruce both look pretty relaxed on the touchline, leaning up against their respective dugouts and watching their sides settle into this match.
    • 4' McCartney urges his side to calm down and get their foot on the ball, and the defender contradicts himself by launching a long throw to nobody in particular.
    • 3' Mizuno wins a free kick down the left for Celtic after Phil Bardsley commits a clumsy foul with the midfielder streaking clear. Sunderland have yet to settle on the ball.
    • 2' Celtic look bright early on as Tony Mowbray takes his seat with the hosts on another attack down the left.
    • 1' Celtic keep the ball at the back from the outset, with Scott Brown dropping deep to exchange a quick one-two with Darren O'Dea.
    • - Referee Steve Corden leads a minute's applause for Sir Bobby Robson, and it is as impeccably received as you would expect.
    • - Celtic host Sunderland in what FIFA would probably term a 'competitive friendly', and there is a very good atmosphere building at Celtic Park.

  9. 126 You are quiet right. Independance for Scotland has nothing to do with the English. It will be a decision taken by the Scottish people and no one else. However, I can assure you that there is more chance of Glasgow Rangers winning the Champions League than the people of Scotland voting for Independance. So I suppose you are just stuck with us (and of cousre all of our MP's) until we decide otherwise. Don't cry! Please don't cry!! I didn't mean it!!!
