86' Owen will miss Wednesday's match with Croatia at Wembley. He will be out for a month or so.- 84' Lampard gives the ball away and Kienast has it... he cannot find a mate in the attacking portion of the field. England need to take this game by the scruff of the neck.
- 82' The match is open - either side could score a goal in the final minutes, with maybe Austria looking the most dangerous.

59' An excellent cross from the right by Brown is headed at goal by Crouch and MANNINGER MAKES ANOTHER STUNNING SAVE!!! He has been top-drawer since he came on for Mach-o Mach-o man.- 57' Aufhauser arrives at the far post for Austria and he goes to the ground, looking for a penalty. Brown was there with him and they were tussling - but it was nothing. The momentum carried them.
- 56' There's a logo on the electronic advertising hoardings featuring spinning footballs - it's sending my eyes 'wappy'. A lot of the play is in midfield currently.
- 52' Ivanschitz attacking the left flank. Micah Richards, sent out to right-back after featuring in the centre recently for England, does very well to get a heel to the ball and take it away from him. Ivanschitz is the danger man for Austria.
- 50' Young is making his senior international debut while Villa team-mate Barry was unlucky to be dropped in favour of Chelsea's in-form Lampard, who he now partners in the centre of midfield.
- 48' Austria subs: Markus Weissenberger and Kuljic leave with Roman Kienast and Christoph Leitgeb coming on.
46' The match restarts. England now kicking to the left goal as we look at it.- - England make three changes at half-time: Wes Brown for Campbell; Gareth Barry for Gerrard; and Ashley Young for Joseph Cole.
- 45+4' The whistle sounds for the half. England winning and doing okay, but not setting the world alight. Beckham and Crouch are the stand-out performances so far.
- 45+3' Ivanschitz puts a deadly ball into the six-yard box, where Carson takes it with safe hands despite the attentions of Kuljic. The 'keeper is caught late but is okay.
- 45+2' Gerrard looking to surge into the Austrian box, but he is blocked out. The stand-in captain has tried to do that a few times.
- 45' We enter injury time in Austria.
- 44' Beckham took it and this time the ball was longer for Crouch, level with the back stick. He rose well and headed inside the post. Props to Defoe too - he jumped nearby to block out the defender.
44' GOAL FOR ENGLAND! CROUCH HAS IT!- 43' Bridge with a diagonal ball to Crouch's chest - he feeds Joe Cole, who speeds through a gap and Manninger saves at his feet! Crouch follows up and Aufhauser blocks a few yards out with his goalie stranded! Corner.
- 42' Home captain Ivanschitz with a lovely flick over an opponent to instigate an attack before Campbell runs him out of play. The corner is headed away by Crouch.
- 41' Bridge does well to get down the touchline and win a throw. He has got forward well.
- 41' René Aufhauser looking to thread a pass through for an Austrian team-mate in the final third, but it is cut out.
- 39' The news on Owen is that he has strained a thigh muscle - not good news. Also we hear that Macho swallowed his tongue following the challenge with Crouch - but he should be okay.
- 38' Winger Cole loses the ball and chases back to send Kuljic crashing to the turf. He's lucky not to be booked for that.
- 36' Defoe with a couple of early touches, the second of which is almost enough to put Joe Cole through on the left. Owen pulled up with something after shooting.
- 34' England sub: Spurs striker Jermain Defoe is on for him up front.
- 33' Owen has a knock it seems and leaves down the tunnel. Oh dear, that doesn't look good.
- 32' A lovely bit of passing between the attacking men and Owen shot first time, only to see Manninger - whose muscles must still be relatively cold - tip over brilliantly almost from point-blank range.
- 32' Austria on the attack and England counter. A ball by Joey Cole is helped on by both Steven Gerrard and Crouch for OWEN... WHAT A SAVE!!!
- 28' Beckham wins a free-kick a long way out but will have a pop anyway. It is blocked.
- 26' Austria substitution: Alex Manninger, formerly of Arsenal, on for Macho.
- 25' The superbly-named 'keeper Macho is still down hurt after a collision during that incident. It looks like we'll be saying goodbye to 'Mach-o Mach-o man'.
- 22' Another delicious ball curled into the box by Beckham for Crouch, but Ronald Gercaliu heads behind for a corner. The wide man is on form, albeit in this meaningless match.
- 21' Beckham whips in a testy low ball that Austria 'keeper Jürgen Macho struggles with as a defender gets under his feet... Crouch was there.
- 19' Joe Cole twisting and turning after link play between Crouch and Lampard. When the ball comes back to him he takes it on a run and unleashes a shot... well over the bar.
- 17' The noise inside the ground is surprising as Austrian fans recently tried to force their country to disband their team - they felt they were that bad. Well they will be playing in Euro 2008 next summer as one of the hosts - perhaps unlike England...
- 15' Newcastle striker Michael Owen is hauled down and Frank Lampard opts to play the advantage and shoot... it is blocked and Austrian defender Franz Schiemer receives treatment for the damage sustained. Ouch.
- 13' Crouch takes the ball well and earns a free-kick in the centre of the field after an Austria move.
- 11' Successive corners to England. The first from Beckham is headed away at the near post while the second is into the danger area but also dealt with.
- 9' Andreas Ivanschitz dances into the area from the left and his low cross is booted away by a defending Lampard. The crowd like that - there is a nice little atmosphere inside the ground.
- 8' Austria being given the runaround up to now in midfield. England need to capitalise on their time on the ball.
- 6' Peter Crouch up again to win a header for the Three Lions. He is in good form of late. It is a shame he doesn't get to play every week for Liverpool - his style should let him play often without too many problems of fatigue.
- 5' England with some early ball. Joseph Cole and Wayne Bridge exchanging passes but the ball ends up in touch.
- 3' STOP THE PRESS - David Beckham seems to have taken his shaven head even closer in the last 24 hours. My God he looks good.
2' Sanel Kuljic going through on goal for Austria in only the second minute, but the flag is up. Big Sol Campbell stepped up at the last.
