    • 90' The final whistle goes and it's honours even in this friendly at Craven Cottage.
    • 84' Enemaro goes down hurt, and while he's on the deck one of his team-mates back-tracks and trips over him! The goalscorer is finally helped off the pitch.
    • 81' Liam Lawrence's first taste of international football comes to an end, and the Stoke man comes off to be replaced by Stephen Hunt.
    • 79' Odemwingie has looked full of beans since he came on for Nigeria. On several occasions now he's had the beating of an Irish defender but his final ball has let him down.
    • 78' Sam Sodje took a bit of a hard knock a few minutes ago, and he'll be replaced by Nwaneri, winning his 31st cap.
    • 74' Decent counter-attack from Nigeria as Enemaro cuts inside and fires right at Westwood, who holds on to the shot.
    • 73' Another Irish change, this time Foley comes off for Paul McShane.
    • 71' Slick build-up by ireland culminates in an Aiden McGeady strike from the edge of the box that swings wide of the target.
    • 63' With half an eye on their friendly in France on Tuesday, Nigeria bring off Aluko and Akpala for Obinna and Odemwingie.
    • 60' Keith Andrews goes off to be replaced by Glenn Whelan.
    • 58' Liam Lawrence lacks options so decides to have a strike from distance. It doesn't emulate the stunning strike he scored a couple of weeks ago, instead sailing into the Craven Cottage crowd.
    • 51' Some calamitous play at the back from Nigeria and the keeper has to sweep the ball out but only as far as Long... The Reading man's chip fails to beat the keeper.
    • 47' Almost right from the off, Long clashes with Sodje in the air and both men stay down! Eventually, both players are up, and they look good to carry on.
    • 46' Theree changes for Ireland at half-time: Young goalkeeper Kieron Westwood comes on for his debut, while Celtic's Aiden McGeady and Reading's Shane Long also come on.
    • 45' The Scottish official blows for half-time. If you want to have a little fun, why not have a spread bet with your mates over how many change the two bosses will make in the break.
    • 41' John Utaka has a pop at goal from the right, but it's over the bar when a pass to Aluko looked the better option for the Portsmouth man.
    • 38' GOAL! Andrews slips the ball through a static Nigeria defence and Robbie Keane is there to calmly take it round the keeper and roll into the empty net! At this stage, 1-1 is a fair scoreline.
    • 36' Another Irish free-kick, this time from the left. The cross is headed back across goal by St Ledger and Best hits the post with his header! The keeper may have got a fingertip to it, but the referee gives a goal kick.
    • 34' Lawrence fires in a free-kick from deep, but there aren't enough Irish bodies in the area to attack it.
    • 31' GOAL!! A low cross in from the right isn't dealt with and Enemaro turns in a shot past Given! A tidy finish from the Nigerian on only his second international appearance.
    • 30' Duff floats in a cross that's an easy catch for Ejide.
    • 29' The corner is not cleared and Keane completely miscues his volley at the far post.
    • 28' Keane feeds Best who bursts past Sodje to shoot... the defender recovers to block the shot for a corner.
    • 27' Uche's first touch lets him down but he does well to chase the loose ball and keep it in play. A lot of the men of the field taking this friendly very seriously.
    • 26' Andrews drives a shot on goal from way out... the shot is hit well enough but sails over well over the Nigeria goal.
    • 24' Robbie Keane is held back in midfield by Olifinjana. The free-kick comes to nothing.
    • 23' Andrews sprays a ball out wide for Best to chase - the first time he's had a ball to feet really. A fairly even game thus far.
    • 19' Uche beats Andrews with a great touch on the chest, and Andrews hauls him down in midfield. Uche takes it quickly and sees Given off his line... The keeper tips the cheekt effort behind for a corner!
    • 19' Ireland send up their big men for the corner, but Ejide comes off his line confidently to pluck the ball out of the air.
    • 18' Robbie Keane is played in down the channel but Adeleye recovers to deflect the cross behind for a corner.
    • 17' A neat backheel from Uche sets up Mohammed for the cross, but Richard Dunne is there to block the attempted shot.
    • 13' Liam Lawrence gets involved in a bit of argy-bargy. It is his debut, but he's showing a lot of fight for a friendly.
    • 11' Duff leads the break and wins a corner, but the set piece from the Newcastle man is poor.
    • 10' Keith Andrews slides in to prevent Ireland conceding a corner. Mohammed and Olifinjana retain possession from the throw, but they lose it.
    • 8' The Nigerian fans enjoy a nice string of passes in midfield. The Irish are chasing shadows, but in the end Miller draws a foul the the momentum goes.
    • 4' Shay Given is caught napping with a backpass and almost gets tackles. He draws a cheer from the crowd as he skilfully evades the atacker, but he shouldn't have been in that situation.
    • 1' Nigeria kick off to get the action underway on a glorious evening in Fulham.
    • 20:00 Before kick-off, a minute's applause for Ireland and Preston legend Alan Kelly snr.
  • Summary

    • 38' GOAL! Andrews slips the ball through a static Nigeria defence and Robbie Keane is there to calmly take it round the keeper and roll into the empty net! At this stage, 1-1 is a fair scoreline.

  1. The mistake of the past is starting all over. When will Shuaibu/NFA ever learn? Who are the main Nigerian first team players executing the world cup campaign? Why is it that we always have to start testing for new boys (who would eventually not make the final team anyway) when all the other teams have finalise their team list? Shuaibu is a good tactician, but he have to assert his authourity on the team and pick the core of his team early so that they can easily blend. In case we forget, Nigerians will never forgive Shuaibu if Super(?) Eagles did not grace the world cup in South Africa. QED

  4. can som1 just explain Kanu's role in the team to me? This is the second match under Shuiab without featuring. Or has Kanu become deputy assistant coach to Shuaib? It's hightime Nigerians face the reality, Shuiab Amodu is truly on political appointment who can not take us to the promised land. With Amodu, world cup qualification in RSA will continue to be an illution to Nigeria.

  8. Hello dear Irish fans! What's up? I come from Bulgaria and would like to ask you one question about the qualifying match on 6 of June in Sofia! Now we take 3rd place in the table with 5 points behind you! At first sight we have almost no chances to think about RSA! So my question to you is are you sure that we are lost? Because I don't think so! I'm sure that on the coming Saturday we are gonna win and I'll tell you why! The match in Ireland we were much better than you holding the ball much more and besides we were missing Berbatov, Bojinov and Petrov ! Now we have them and we are hosts! After taking this match we become 2 points behind you with 1 match less! When we take this 1 match we'll have 1 point more than you and things change very quickly don't you think?! Then you become 3rd and we 2nd. So my advice is: "Don't give us up so quickly" because things are quite different than they look! Ultimately, we are unbeaten too, don't forget it! Have a nice day!

  9. The Super Eagles are only playing their game as a bunch of tallented players. They dont have a coach. With or without anybody on the technical bench the boys will always do their best.therefore, Amodu Shuaibu should understand that the political appointment given to him is not by merrit. He has nothing to offer in this jet age . When will Nigeria rise up to face realities. Nigeria has so many coaches but only one is competent and his name is SAMPSON SIASIA.

  15. for thoes of you from Nigeria its not Irelands first team, trap has a mixture of his first team and reserves so that the reserves can gain some valuable experience of playing international football, several players out there are earning their first cap. The reason why were not playin in croke park is because we are preparing for away games. why arn't we playin in wembley or old trafford? because we're playin nigeria
