- 81' Drenthe bursts forward for Madrid and Garcia tugs him back. A yellow card ensues, his second, and he joins Marcelo in the early bath.
- 78' Pavone whips in a superb cross from the right and Aurelio's header is straight at Casillas. Pavone then picks up a silly booking for barging the keeper as he runs out to clear.

- 10' Ruben De La Red is the next to threaten, but Espinosa Casto makes a fine save to deny him from close range.

- 5' What a fantastic run from Arjen Robben, who skips round one, two, three players before pulling back to VAN NISTELROOY!!! But his shot is blocked.
