    Time:90'
    • Espanyol
    • Sevilla
    • 90+4' All over at Montjuic. Sevilla go third above Valencia, while Espanyol remain bottom of the table three points from safety.
    • 90+2' A SECOND FOR SEVILLA AND KANOUTE!! The Mali man finished a Navas cross again after the winger has cleverly flicked the ball over the desperate sliding challenge of a defender.
    • 90' Espanyol having a stab at it, but Sevilla keeping them at bay. We enter injury-time... there will be four further minutes.
    • 88' Sevilla change: Jose Carlos on for Capel.
    • 86' Espanyol sub: coach Mauricio Pochettino brings on club captain Raul Tamudo for Garcia. The striker has been out for several months, and how they have missed him.
    • 85' Kanoute was offside in the middle when Navas was played in on the flank - and therefore the flag should have gone up.
    • 84' GOAL FOR SEVILLA!!! Navas attacks down the right and squares into the middle, where Kanoute awaits - and his poorly struck effort beats Kameni!!
    • 81' This entertaining match remains end-to-end as we enter the final 10 minutes... either side could still nick it despite the hosts being down to 10 men.
    • 79' GREAT SAVE BY KAMENI TO DENY SEVILLA!! Romaric drilled a shot at goal which took a deflection; but the shot-stopper did his job, adjusting to palm the ball against the post!!
    • 79' Plenty of Espanyol players asking questions as their team-mate Sanchez blasts well over from the corner of the box.
    • 77' Romaric bends a low shot past the wall but Espanyol keeper Kameni is down to save at the foot of the post.
    • 75' Sevilla change: Diego Perotti on for Fazio.
    • 74' RENATO MUST SCORE... HE HITS THE POST FROM SIX YARDS WITH THE GOAL GAPING!! What a cross by Adriano - but how did his Sevilla team-mate miss that?
    • 73' Espanyol are going to have to dig in after looking the more likely in the opening hour. They are now defending deep.
    • 70' Sevilla attacking change: Adriano on for Navarro.
    • 66' Espanyol change: Angel on for Coro.
    • 64' Lola up-ends Capel with a cynical kick as he breaks out and earns himself a second yellow card - Montjuic erupts in anger!!
    • 63' Espanyol now the team attacking as the fans get right behind them. We are in for an intriguing final half-hour or so.
    • 61' HOW DID CORO MISS THAT?? AND HE THEN MISSES ANOTHER ONE!! Palop dropped a cross to allow Coro space to shoot and his low strike is blocked on the line brilliantly by a diving David Prieto; he has a second go at a Palop-less goal but his effort from a tighter angle is somehow headed far the far post by a prone Prieto!! Fantastic defending.
    • 59' Espanyol show that they are still in this match as De la Pena begins a counter-attack... in the end Sanchez screws a shot just past the near-post top corner from the right.
    • 57' Fazio jinks through on the right side of the box as Sevilla again exploit space in that area... his low pull-back is blocked by Kameni under pressure from Renato. The Seville side are in the groove now...
    • 55' Capel strikes at goal... just wide of the far post!! The long-haired wing man thought that was goal-bound.
    • 54' Navarro booked for a block on Coro after the Espanyol man nodded the ball past him near halfway.
    • 53' At the other end the fleet-footed Renato makes it through the home defence but Kameni is out quickly to block with his feet. Cracking save by the Cameroon star.
    • 53' Espanyol winger Coro connects well with a dipping strike which thumps into Palop's midriff. Solid stop.
    • 50' Navas wins a corner for Sevilla with an encouraging run. You can picture the away side nicking a goal to dampen the home side's confidence.
    • 47' But it is Espanyol that come back out of the blocks the quicker, Nene feeding a low cross back to Garcia 20 yards out... he controls and shoots immediately to the near-post bottom corner, where Palop pulls off a fantastic save.
    • 46' The match restarts, Sevilla now kicking from left to right. They will have to get going after a poor first 45 minutes.
    • - Espanyol hero Ivan de la Pena on the pitch for the second half, to acclaim from the stands.
    • 45+2' The ref blows up as Sevilla almost create something on two occasions. It has been an interesting first half with Espanyol having the better of it. The home fans are still unhappy with the officials.
    • 45' Two minutes to be added on at the end of the first half.
    • 44' The ball is finally booted into touch. It wasn't a penalty but official Turienzo Alvarez should have stopped it himself given the possibility of a head injury. Garcia is okay though after a bit of attention.
    • 44' Garcia runs on to a Nene crossfield ball... Palop punches clear but also clatters into the playmaker just inside the box!! He stays down as play continues... the fans bay for the ref's blood.
    • 41' Garcia strikes over the crossbar from 15 yards out!! Before that Nene and Navas both went down under challenges as the game becomes increasingly fractious.
    • 40' Navas, who has moved from the right flank to the left, skips in front of Sanchez to create space in the box... his effort is wide of the near post. He snatched at it.
    • 38' Espanyol midfielder Lola Smiljanic booked for a tap on the ankles of Fernando Navarro; it was a foul but he threw himself down.
    • 37' So close for Espanyol!! Nene crossed low behind the Sevilla defence and Garcia slid in at the back stick; however Squillaci had gotten a slight touch on the ball to take it away from him. He was inches away from the opening goal.
    • 35' Home captain and left-back David Garcia booked for blocking off the so-far ineffectual Jesus Navas.
    • 33' Capel tackled and Espanyol come forward... Garcia steps inside at the corner of the box but is blocked. They cannot quite create anything in the final third.
    • 31' Renato plays a cross in with pace which Espanyol defend - but only just.
    • 30' Diego Capel with a positive run that is stopped by Sanchez near the edge of the box... it was a clean enough tackle but the ref blows up.
    • 27' Romaric bangs a shot at goal from 20-odd yards out which Carlos Kameni parries with strong wrists - and Espanyol clear.
    • 25' Sevilla panicking at the back as Squillaci taps towards the corner flag as Palop comes out of his goal... the two collide... but they come out of it with a goal-kick as the subsequent clearance is hit off a home player.
    • 22' Mosquera booked after catching Garcia from behind. He was a little too keen in the tackle.
    • 21' Espanyol gaining the upper hand to give their fans something to get excited about. It is not a good time to be a fan of Los Blanquiazules, with Barca 10 points clear at the summit and their side struggling at the foot.
    • 19' Aquivaldo Mosquera almost dispossessed after Palop fed him with a quick throw... Sevilla get away with it.
    • 17' Home right-back Sergio Sanchez is denied a free-kick after a boisterous challenge from Romaric near the corner flag.
    • 15' Fredi Kanoute, formerly of Tottenham of course, shoots wide of the mark. He didn't catch it right.
    • 13' Sevilla will go third above Valencia, who are currently also on 38 points, if they win here. Real Madrid are on 50 and Barca 60. Espanyol are bottom of the table, three points from safety.
    • 11' Sebastien Squillaci attacks a corner for Sevilla, heading just off-target. There has been some pressure from the fourth-placed side in the opening stages.
    • 8' There is a brilliant atmosphere inside Montjuic for once as the home club have handed out 13,000 thousand free tickets. Usually it is so big is just swamps the relatively small crowds compared to those of city rivals Barcelona.
    • 5' Luis Garcia, who hasn't scored since October, arrives at the near post to try a cheeky backheel at goal... saved low down by Andres Palop. He boots the post in frustration.
    • 4' Roman Martinez of the home side on the floor after Koffi Romaric delivered a crunching tackle.
    • 2' Sevilla midfielder Fazio comes forward with purpose, winding up for a dig from distance... well wide.
    • 1' The match underway in Barcelona. Sevilla in all red kicking from right to left; Espanyol in blue and white as always.

  1. It is a pity Celtic didnt buy robinson in the summer, as i think Cech is an ideal replacement, with youth on his side and pace, a shame that celtic might steal him now
The falseness of the Premier league will not be missed by me, where the TOP 5 clubs get a lot more decisions there way, if they CAPPED clubs accounts books and they all had to compete on a fairer level, then the top 5 would be much like the other 15 clubs and that would make the WHOLE league a fairer challenege !
