    • 90' The whistle blows, mercifully for Real, and Barcelona have taken a huge step towards securing the league title - they're now seven points clear. Even by the standards of this fixture, this match was remarkable.
    • 87' One man who hasn't got on the scoresheet tonight is Samuel Eto'o, and he busts a gut to chase a ball from Xavi which in all honesty is a lost cause.
    • 85' With the job well and truly done, Pep Guardiola swaps Iniesta and Toure for Bojan and Busquets.
    • 83' GOLGOLGOLGOLGOL!! Barcelona have scored their SIXTH! Messi prods a ball out to Samuel Eto'o, and the Cameroonian's cross finds Gerard Pique. Casillas smothers the defender's first effort, but Pique spun around and tries again to score his first ever league goal for Barcelona.
    • 80' Even Real Madrid, whose recent history is full of heroic comebacks, will believe rescuing anything from this match is impossible.
    • 78' Arjen Robben will make way for Javi Garcia as Real make their final change.
    • 77' Van der Vaart is fouled in midfield and the free-kick is taken quickly to Robben. Heinze's ball into box is over-hit.
    • 76' Several of the home crowd have had enough and are shuffling out of the ground and into the Madrid night. What's the Spanish for "We can see you sneaking out"?
    • 75' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Xavi has his back to goal and slips the ball through to Mesis, who seems to take an age before slotting past Casillas at the near post! A masterful finish. Barcelona are surely out of sight now.
    • 74' Rafael van der Vaart's first act is to lunge in on Dani Alves and pick up a yellow card.
    • 73' Messi slips Iniesta in on the left of the area. The Barca man checks inside rather than shoot first time and Diarra coems across to challenge.
    • 72' Rafael van der Vaart will be Real Madrid's second change, and it's a real roll of the dice from Juande Ramos - he's bringing off Sergio Ramos.
    • 71' Diarra slips over and loses possession. Xavi kicks it out of play after Diarra stays down.
    • 70' Higuain's inswinging cross from deep finds none of his team-mates at the far post and it's out for a goal kick.
    • 69' STAT WATCH: Shots on target - Real Madrid 4-10 Barcelona.
    • 68' Xavi finds Eto'o and the Cameroonian checks on to his right foot, allowing Metzelder time to get his tackle in.
    • 67' Huntelaar is playing quite deep. He finda Gago, but the attmepted chipped pass is to no one.
    • 66' STAT WATCH: Possession - Real Madrid 41%-59% Barcelona.
    • 65' Robben keeps the ball in play but finds no way past Pique, who has been great tonight.
    • 63' We're averaging a goal every 10 minutes tonight - will we get another three beofre the game is over? Don't bet against it!
    • 60' First changes of the match, and no surprises for guessing that it's Thierry Henry coming off for Barca to be replaced by Seydou Keita. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar replaces Marcelo for Real.
    • 58' GOOOOOOOOOOOL!! We've seen the best of Sergio Ramos, now we see the worst. He's too late playing the offisde trap and Xavi's chipped pass finds Henry and he rolls it past the onrushing Casillas!
    • 56' GOOOOOOOOOLGOGOGOGOOOOOOOOL!! Robben whips in another great cross and Sergio Ramos does what he does best by getting on to the end of it and heading Real Madrid right back into this game!
    • 55' Valdes comes charging out of his area to intercept Robben. Somehow Real win a free-kick on the right wing.
    • 54' Messi goes it alone, and runs past Metzelder leaving the German defender - who si about twice the height of Messi - on the deck! Messi's cross-cum-shot meets nobody.
    • 53' The Bernabeu crowd, who are all too quick to get on the backs of their team, are getting excited again now Real are seeing the ball again.
    • 52' The ball bounces off the referee and Gago bursts forward to strike, but his shot hits the calf of Puyol and rolls harmlessly to Valdes.
    • 51' Fernando Gago wins the ball well and plays a nice ball up the wing to Robben. The Dutchman goes up against Puyol and hits the deck all too easily looking for a penalty, but he gets nothing.
    • 50' Marcelo breaks forward, cuts inside and slips a ball out to where he thought Gabriel Heinze would be on the overlap, but it rolls out for a goal kick.
    • 49' Henry ghosts past Sergio Ramos and it's arjen Robben who gets in there to concede the corner. Robben has worked his socks off in this game, supporting his full-back and getting up the field when he can.
    • 48' Xavi, Messi and Iniesta runs rings around the Real defenders, and the latter weaves through to the edge of the box and fires a shot wide of the far post.
    • 47' Thierry Henry has come out to start the half, but he is not likely to finish it.
    • 46' No changes at half-time for either side and the second half is underway.
    • HT Well, this game is certainly shaking up to be a memorable instalment of this historic rivalry, which has taken on plenty of political and social as well as sporting significance down the years. Read up on another couple of memorable games here.
    • 45+1' The referee blows up for half-time. That's quite enough action for one half, thank you.
    • 45+1' Dani Alves takes a big run-up and STRIKES... Casillas gets down low to beat away the rasping free-kick from the Brazilian!
    • 45' Marcelo goes into the book for a foul on Messi.
    • 44' The visitors string together at least a dozen passes in midfield, but Henry has the ball taken from him by Sergio Ramos. The Bernabeu crowd have really gone quiet in the run-up to half-time.
    • 43' Barca have the ball back and play it back to Valdes. They could well keep the ball for the rest of the half now!
    • 42' Good pressure from Messi and Iniesta but Real's defneders keep possession tidily.
    • 41' Robben petulantly throws the ball down after being pulled up for a foul. He's lucky to escape a booking there.
    • 40' Higuain has the ball at his feet and the momentum, but it's an excellently timed tackle from Pique that stops him.
    • 39' Robben's free-kick delivery is a good one, and no white shirts can get a touch and it's cleared for a throw-in. The throw comes in and Metzelder's header hits Puyol's hand... Big shouts for a penalty but the referee quite rightly ignores them.
    • 38' Diarra, Ramos and Higuain combine down the right. Puyol goes right through of Ramos and picks up a booking.
    • 36' That's 22 goals in 25 league games for Lionel Messi - a reasonable return for a 21-year-old.
    • 35' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! Diarra is caught dithering in possession, and Xavi robs him and gives it to Leo Messi, who clips it past Casillas with the outside of his boot!
    • 34' Messi gets a lucky break off a defender and drills a quick shot just wide of the foot of the post.
    • 33' Xavi sprays the ball to Messi on the left of the Real area. There are options for him but he tries an audacious chip that Casillas has to be stop going inside the top corner!
    • 32' A great first-time cross from Henry is hacked away by Metzelder. Real build from that; Diarra feeds Raul on the edge of the box and Real's all-time leading scorer turns and sends a shot over the bar.
    • 30' Thierry Henry, who was an injury doubt before the match, is looking in a bit of discomfort. It will be surprising if he plays the whole match.
    • 29' Messi and Iniesta play a fantastic one-two right through Real but they over-egg the pudding with ne pass too many and Casillas comes out to smother Messi's close range shot.
    • 28' The ball goes all the way across the pitch from the corner, and Arjen Robben is on Messi's case.
    • 27' Xavi rides the challenges and plays in Eto'o. Casillas has to palm the blasted effort behind for a corner.
    • 26' Great passing from the Blaugrana side in midfield, sapping the tempo out of the game and forcing Real's players to chase them.
    • 24' Barcelona have been seeing all of the ball since they went in front.
    • 23' Dani Alves wins the ball in midfield and plays in Messi to strike... Casillas stands firm and the shot hits him in the chest. End-to-end stuff at the Bernabeu!
    • 21' Real build again and Raul fires a ball across the box that almost ricohets in off a Barca defender, but once again Valdes saves his team!
    • 21' Arjen Robben bursts into the Barca box and his low shot is saved by the feet of Victor Valdes!
    • 21' Ironically, it was Higuain who should have been picking up the Barca skipper for that goal.
    • 20' GOLGOLGOLGOLGOLGOGOL!! Xavi fires in the free-kick and Carles Puyol heads Barca into the lead! What a game we've got here!
    • 20' Henry skips past Diarra on the wing and Cannavaro hauls him over. The Italian defender had no choice, he was well-beaten.
    • 19' That's Henry's 19th goal in the league this season - and Barca's 95th!
    • 18' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL!! That long ball comes to Messi, who dinks a great ball into the path of Henry and the Frenchman sends a trademark side footed finish past Casillas for the equaliser!
    • 17' Puyol, who was really at fualt for the Real opener, hacks a clearance down field.
    • 16' Thierry Henry has time and space on the left wing. He curls in an inviting cross to Eto'o free at the far post, but the Cameroon striker chooses to try and volley rather than head the ball! Should be 1-1.
    • 14' GOL GOL GOOOOOL!!! Sergio Ramos gets his cross in around Abidal and Gonzalo Higuain is completely unmarked in the centre of the area to head past Victor Valdes to give Real the lead! That's Higuain's 19th league goal of the season!
    • 13' Another exploratory through ball from deep by Xavi. This one is too long for Henry.
    • 12' Yaya Toure keeps things ticking over in midfield. Messi goes hareing after a long ball and Casillas is out of the area... He slices the clearance as Messi clatters into him! Luckily for Real, Messi is penalised for fouling the keeper.
    • 11' Iniesta switches direction and feeds Messi. It takes three men to crowd the little Argentine out and concede the goal kick!
    • 10' Robben wins the ball and plays it to Raul. Higuain almost latches on to his skipper's through ball, but Pique is across and shows good strength to shepherd it out of play.
    • 9' Finally the hectic tempo of the opening exchanges has susided, though only slightly.
    • 8' People write off the Real captain not so long ago, but he's having one of his best season's in years - he's scored 18 in the league so far this term.
    • 7' Victor Valdes comes out of his area to tidy up and pass it to Abidal. Raul nicks the ball off him and shoots for the empty net... The shot doesn't curl enough, but the whistle had gone already for Raul's foul on the French defender.
    • 6' Messi runs across the box andslips it to Eto'o. The shot clips a defenders boot but Casillas can catch it.
    • 5' Lassana Diarra, who started the season playing for Portsmouth, fouls in midfield. Barca release Eto'o from the free-kick and he's one-on-one with Valdes, but the flag is up for offside.
    • 4' Xavi clears to Messi, who brings the ball forward. The break ends with the referee penalising Xavi for a non-existent foul on Marcelo.
    • 3' Arjen Robben charges at full-back Abidal and wins a corner. He motions to the crowd to stoke up the atmosphere. Barca put it behind for another corner.
    • 2' Barca captain Carles Puyol gets a deafening chorus of whistles when he gets his first touch... This game really is Catalonia v Spain.
    • 1' Sergio Ramos hits a terrible pass into the path of Messi! Messi plays it across to Xavi, the shot is straight at Casllas. Almost a dream start for Barca.
    • 1' The match is underway!
    • 18:59 The players are coming out on the pitch now - Messi, Raul, Henry, Higuain, Xavi, Robben... let's hope this one comes somewhere close to the hype.
    • 18:59 Barca are missing centre-back Rafa Marquez but, with the crucial Champions League second leg at Chelsea coming up on Wednesday, manager Pep Guardiola fields his best line-up.
    • 18:58 The main absentee for Real is the enigmatic midfielder Guti, otherwise they are at full strength.
    • 18:57 Last week's 4-2 victory at Sevilla was a record ninth consecutive win on the road for Real Madrid, bettering the run of eight set by the 1960/61 side featuring Puskas, Gento and Di Stefano.
    • 18:56 Barcelona have scored the most goals this season in La Liga - 94 to date - and conceded the least - 26.
    • 18:55 That defeat remains the only defeat for Ramos, who has steered Real toa n astonishing 17 wins and a draw in his 18 league games in charge.
    • 18:54 The reverse fixture back in December - a 2-0 defeat at the Nou Camp - was Ramos's first match in charge of Real Madrid.
    • 18:49 Rarely has there been so much at stake in an instalment of El Clasico - if Real Madrid win they will reduce the gap at the top of La Liga to just one point, a seemingly unthinkable feat when Juande Ramos took over in December.
    • 18:48 This is the 79th edition of the historic encounter between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.

  3. the point barca cant score is Chelsea play like a ^%^$%$%^&*#..Although, Italian side nowadays does not play such as negative football. it is not tactic, it is coward. I just can agree that Man U now is better even though i dont like them, but they play better football. Hope to see Messi against Ronaldo in final. But, hope to see Milan back to CL. Only Milan know the english tactic and can adapt to play with strength against English side in England ( other italian fails on strength )

Chelsea is a good team and they never conceded a goal in Nu Camp.

    And every one knows why:
    1) They were playing negative game, no one could be so negative.......as blues were on that day. I am quite sure they have to play same in Stamford bridge otherwise Barca will humiliate them and this is for sure!!!
    2) Blues have to thanx referee who was at nu camp!!!! IF he would have been honest in his decisions....Blues wouldn't be commenting here!!!!!

FCB is a joy to watch!!!!

    Let's put things into perspective!
    1. Barcelona are the best team in Spain only because they have no competition..all the other Spanish teams are @#$%.
    2. Barcelona have scored in every La Liga game this season...but couldn't even score against Chelsea, who are only Englands third best team.
    3. The last time Barecelona didn't score in a game (before the Chelsea game) was a year ago, and that was against another English side..Manchester United! (who also then knocked you out the the Champions League)!!
4.When you can afford to have a ROOF fitted on your stadium..come back and talk to us, but in the mean time...FEK OFF!!

  19. A while ago a lot of Chelsea fans were gloating that we didnt score pass them at the Camp Nou but what they fail to realise is that we stopped them from getting an away goal. now after the WHOLE WORLD watched Real Madrid get put to the sword at the Santiago Bernabeu its almost inevitable what we will do at Stamford Bridge. all we need is ONE away goal and Chelsea have twice the work to do and know that the Bernabeu is much louder then the bridge. ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for Chelsea F.C.!!!!! R.I.P Guus. you'll still get your PPPHHHHAT paycheque!
