    • 11' Valeron with a wonderful ball through from the left plays Bodipo clean through and he must score but he somehow delays the finish too far and Casillas flies out to claim. Boy have we missed Valeron. His career looked over after a serious knee injury recurred immediately on his return.

    • 7' Yellow for De Guzman for a poor challenge on Heinze.
    • 5' Madrid come forward, a low drive ricochets into the path of Raul who flicks it over the keeper Munua but he gets a hand on it and it's cleared off the line!
    • 3' A horrible, late, high, over-the-top tackle into Gago's lower leg by Lafita but remarkably no card! That was leg-breaker and, also remarkably, Gago gets up from it. His knee seemed to go at an angle as his studs stayed in the turf but he's okay. That was a rotten tackle though.
    • 2' Good interplay between Sneijder and Robben and Sneijder has a drive from just inside the box but well-stopped by the keeper Munua.
