League Two Bradford City lost 2-1 at Aston Villa but won 4-3 on aggregate to move into the League Cup final. More
90+5 Bradford are just hoofing it long whenever it comes their way. Given punts it, a bit of havoc in the box but Bradford clear. Throw to Villa... Now long from Delph - and it's the whistle! Bradford go to Wembley!
90+1 Almost a dramatic goal from the corner as the loose ball drops a yard ahead of the unmarked Bent!!
88' GOAL VILLA! Weimann throws the cat among the pigeons as he races on to Bent's towering header and rounds the keeper to score! 2-1, 3-4 on aggregate! Route one from Given too!
87' BRADFORD SUB: Turgott on for Wells.
81' Wells is offside but Dowd pulls play back for a late tackle... Bent is booked.
79' Thompson feeds Wells in the box but a super challenge from Vlaar concedes a corner.
74' Weimann races away down the right and his fizzing low ball beats everyone - including Benteke! It got a touch off someone en route, end-to-end!
73' From which they hit the bar! Thompson with the screamer after a lovely counter attack from left to right, Darby with the cross and Thompson with the volley!
71' BRADFORD SUB: Zines comes off for Thompson.
70' VILLA SUB: Weimann comes on for Bennett. Four up top now.
67' INCHES WIDE FROM IRELAND! Great play by Lowton and Bent, who puts in a driven low ball that the arriving Ireland flicks past the post!
62' BIG MISS BRADFORD! Fantastic cross from Darby that Hanson rises to flick wide! Should have scored, Clark did enough to put him off! Would have been curtains for Villa!
61' VILLA SUB: Bent comes on for Bannan. Ironic cheers from the fans as Bent has incredibly been ostracised by Lambert.
55' GOAL BRADFORD! HANSON WITH A TOWERING HEADER TO BURY JONES'S CORNER!
49' Vlaar takes the free-kick but the wall does its job. Now Ireland demands a free-kick after a mis-kicked clearance by Good is caught by Duke. Give over!
48' Booking for a Bradford player after another free-kick is given away, 30 yards out or so.
46' The second half is underway!
45+2 Half-time and Villa lead 1-0, but they've been all over Braford and should have had more. They lost the first leg 3-1 so trailing by one goal on aggregate.
45' Wells picks up the ball on the right and he bends a superb dipping shot inches wide of the far post! Wow, from nowhere!
44' JUST WIDE BY BENTEKE! Fantastic ball from Ireland on the right, Bradford completely conned by the movement on the ball, and with McArdle waiting for it to drop on his head, Benteke flies in to put it wide.
38' Bannan with the outswinging corner and Benteke again rises to head it but puts the ball over!
37' A promising one-touch Villa move breaks down but Wells can't counter so here comes Agbonlahor - but Ireland's dipping shot is well saved by Duke! Another corner.
32' Ireland on the ball now, he finds NZogbia WHO CUTS INSIDE AND SHOOTS AND DUKE TIPS IT OVER! Super save!
27' Ireland has the ball in the net but he was offside as Bennett's ball squeezed through to him.
23' GOAL VILLA! Benteke gets his finish right this time as he volleys a cross from Bennett on the left. Great ball, great finish. 1-0 on the night, 2-3 on aggregate.
22' Clark is booked for getting in Hanson's way as the burly former Non League striker raced on to the ball. Harsh.
17' JUST OVER FROM DELPH! The former Bradford trainee pumps a long range shot over after a surging run. Good stuff from Villa.
16' NZogbia on the right cuts back on to his left and puts in a fantastic cross FOR BENTEKE WITH THE HEADER but straight at Duke! Had to bury that!
5' CLOSE! N'Zogbia with the floated ball, Benteke with the header and Lowton has to make an instinctive effort to nod on target - he cannot adjust in time.
1' And we're off! Bradford, playing in their away kit, get us started. Villa in claret and blue had a final team huddle on the field before the kick off - they look like they understand the importance of the game.

Aston VillaManager: Paul Lambert
Bradford CityManager: Phil Parkinson
I don't care if we are boring, or wonderful to watch, the only thing i want is winning football, so far Lambert hasn't achieved that, playing good football is all well and good, but Villa need to win games, so even if we play rubbish football as long as we start winning, i will be satisfied, just at the moment we aren't playing good football and we aren't winning.
Am I the only Villa supporter who thinks they are playing some decent football this season and that if they can learn to defend set pieces and get a bit of luck in front of goal when attacking, they will survive? David
I know AV were poor;I know Bradford overachieved, but,if you look at the players marks above, you would presume Bradford had won the MATCH by at least 5 goals. They LOST 2 1 on the night.I follow neither team but for Gods sake, jounalists ??????????????
2nd half was shocking ,bannan was useless as the same as bennett ,congrats to bradford thought they was well worth getting through ,from a villa fan

Wonderful, amazing result congrats to Bradford, what a fairy tale, great to have someone else in final apart from the usual prem teams, all we need now is for Swansea to dump Arsenal to make it complete. Oh yea bye the way i'm a Spurs fan, Great night for football fans.
Why did Paul Lambert take on this poisoned chalice named Aston Villa but don't blame Lambert Villa fans look at what has he got to work with & where is the Villa ambition & I also remember another Scots manager who was very nearly sacked, a certain Sir Alex Ferguson this is not Lamberts mess, it's Villa's

LAMBERT ! LAMBERT ! PACK YOUR BAGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another banana skin on Friday night at Milwall. You cannot run a Premier club with inexperienced players who only command Championship or lower wages. The club policy has got to change NOW or they will be in the Championship and look what has happened to Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn, no guarantee of a quick return.
