Sir Alex Ferguson pinpointed mistakes from Nani and his two centre-backs after Manchester United exited the Capital One Cup following a 5-4 defeat to Chelsea. More
120+3 Full time! Chelsea have won another Capital One Cup thriller 5-4 at the Bridge and are the eighth and final side to reach the quarter finals. Thanks for joining me tonight! Follow me on Twitter @liamhappe and discuss the action-packed fixtures this evening.
120+2 United are pouring it on but that allows a Chelsea break! They're 3-on-2 up and Hazard shoots low from 20... hits the post!
120' Giggs steps up for his second and United's fourth... buries it low to his left! Grandstand finish coming up!
119' PENALTY UNITED! Azpilicueta barges down Hernandez as the striker looks to connect with Tunnicliffe's diagonal.
118' Giggs slides down Moses from behind as Chelsea attack again. Spiteful and petulant, it rightly earns a booking.
116' GOAL CHELSEA! Counter from the cleared corner and Hazard makes a mockery of two defenders before sending Ramires clean through. He fakes out Lindegaard, skips round him and slots home. It's not 7-5 but it should be enough to send Chelsea through. 5-3!
115' Fletcher is fouled by Ramires which earns the Brazilian a booking. The free-kick is delivered into the packed box but Luiz puts it behind for a corner.
114' Welbeck had earlier been replaced by Federico Macheda by the way.
113' Ramires puts Moses clean through! Good pressure from the recovering back line to make life difficult for the forward and ultimately it allows Lindegaard to get legs on the shot!
106' The half-time whistle in extra time has gone and after a quick switch of sides we are back underway already for the final 15 minutes. Can United force penalties?
105+1 Luiz takes the free-kick from 20 yards... hammers it onto the crossbar! Excellent strike but the lead remains one!
105' Keane is booked for holding back Sturridge and only the nearby Wootton's presence was surely preventing a last-man red.
99' Nani is tackled rather zealously by Oscar on the left wing leading to a pull-apart between the two which sees them both booked.
97' GOAL CHELSEA! They finally lead through Sturridge! Long ball pumped up field after blocking the Hernandez chance and Wootton makes an absolute mess of a backheader attempt allowing the striker to get into the area and round Lindegaard. 4-3!
96' Hernandez twists and turns to find space to shoot... but Bertrand slides in to block!
95' Rafael has a dig for United on the counter but it's well saved by Cech. Here come Chelsea once more and Sturridge is able to control the ball with eight yards between he and goal! He fluffs his lines and can't get a decent effort out, though.
91' The first period of extra time begins at Chelsea.
90+5' FULL TIME at the Bridge and extra time is forthcoming. Only nine more goals needed in 30 minutes to match yesterday's insanity. Anyone fancy it?
90+4' Hazard will take this one.... SCORES! It's 3-3!
90+3' PENALTY CHELSEA! Wootton stupidly shoves down Ramires in the box!
90' Three minutes added on at the Bridge. Luiz gets a yellow card.
85' Oscar from 25 yards! Excellent drive which Lindegaard pushes away!
80' United bring on Ryan Tunnicliffe for Anderson with time ticking away in West London.
76' Moses teed up 10 yards and central! Can only shoot straight at Lindegaard! What a wasted chance.
72' Wonderful movement from Mata as he turns around his man and tries to shoot from just inside the box... did that strike the arm of Keane? Ref says no!
68' Azpilicueta! Dashes into the box to meet a chipped Mata cross and heads just wide!
63' Wootton is booked for United as he slides through Sturridge.
60' United are tearing Chelsea apart at the moment. Great move sees Giggs square towards the run of Anderson... placed shot from 20 yards blocked! Hernandez on the rebound! Over! Should have done better there.
58' GOAL UNITED! What a finish by Nani, finding space in the box before lifting the finish over Cech. All past errors are forgiven. It's 2-3!
54' Prodigal forward Lucas Piazon is withdrawn by Chelsea with Eden Hazard on in his place. Di Matteo is going to go for it.
52' GOAL CHELSEA! Their third corner of the game is headed in by Cahill! Rafael headed it away from goal but did so well over the line. With no Clattenberg or Pedro Mendes in sight, the goal is given. 2-2!
49' Nani takes the ball from Welbeck's feet as the striker looked set to let rip inside the 'D'. Chelsea immediately counter and only Rafael's stellar slide prevents Sturridge a shot on target. United clear the ensuing corner. What was Nani thinking?
46' Manchester United kick-off the second half.
- About to restart at the Bridge, and Chelsea have replaced Mikel at the interval with Ramires.
45' Half-time at Stamford Bridge and Man United lead 2-1. Giggs preying on a horror-show goal kick from Cech before Luiz levelled from the spot. Hernandez two minutes before the break restored the edge for Fergie's troops.
43' GOAL UNITED! It's that boy Hernandez against Chelsea yet again! Fantastic through pass by Giggs sets him free and he coolly slots under Cech inside the near post. 1-2!
31' GOAL! Luiz steps up to convert the penalty! Lindegaard guessed the right way but the kick was just precise enough to evade his reach. 1-1!
30' PENALTY CHELSEA! Moses tripped inside the box by Buttner!
28' Chelsea have been the better side for the most part but that goal kick howler has them behind. Mikel fouled Welbeck for the yellow, by the way.
25' Mikel, starting despite Chelsea lodging a complaint today against Mark Clattenburg on his behalf, is booked.
22' GOAL MAN UNITED! After Buttner had struck a free-kick wide of the far post from a similar position to Nani's attempt earlier, Cech's short goal kick backfires as Anderson mugs Romeu and Giggs slots home the opener. 0-1
19' Moses again brings the ball into the United box but slips and handballs as he lands. He is quick to his feet and still in possession but Lee Mason has already blown up.
15' Moses embarks on a good run into the box from the right but fouls a backtracking Welbeck and the move ends.
14' Nani lashes a central free-kick straight into the arms of Cech from 25 yards.
12' Romeu picks up the first booking of the match at the Bridge for tripping up Buttner.
10' Buttner was guilty of giving the ball away as Chelsea broke leading to that Sturridge near-chance, but the game has since gone back to midfield.
7' Chance goes to waste for Chelsea! Lovely early ball from the right on the counter by Moses which Sturridge should bury if he can bring it down. He cannot, however, as he stumbles after the first touch and the opportunity goes to waste.
5' Manchester United fans have a banner which reads "Clattenburg. Referee. Leader. Legend." Oop.
3' Giggs almost puts Hernandez clean through but Cahill intercepts. His defensive partner Luiz then strides up the pitch soon after and lashes a 25-yarder over the bar.

Karen, I never denied that United benefited from an offside goal in that match too. The point was that it was an offside that could have been against Drogba and United might have won the league in that case. It was to demonstrate the fact that these decisions go against United every bit as much as for United.
For those neanderthals posting about bias referees on here. A quote from a neutral (the Wigan manager, Martinez) "I have never come across a referee in England who was bias towards a team". Now, that's from a man who has been on the wrong end of a few unpalatable decisions during his time at Swansea and Wigan. Of course those of you who say that the EPL referees are biased have a more informed view than him and, therefore it is difficult to argue against you! You must get a different view from your armchairs?
Chelsea wasn't the team to appease Fregi's pupils. Manchester must know that they can't reach LP championship by the help of referees.
Agreed with Martin and Hashmatullah i'm to aver that United fans had better cease rejoicing at the Saturday counterfeit win. Today's match proved that without referee's favor Man u never managed to beat Chelsea. Yet until when is it possible to go on like this?
You United fans wonder why people hate you and your club so much!!! I have not seen one decent comment out of the 400+ comments on here from a united fan, that about says it all, arrogant #$%$!!!!!
I find it infuriating that these typically moronic man united fans keep going on about their kids and chelsea bought on 3 experienced players, first of all, man u shouldn't of won on sunday, torres shouldn't of been sent off and you only won through an offside goal when chelsea were battering at your door with 10 men. Second of all, two of the three players who came on last night are new in the chelsea squad and are 19 and 21 respectively, so its not as if we bought torres or terry or lampard on. Put it into perspective, our youngersters are now, yours are miles away from reaching full potential if at all, who won the youth fa cup last year and had to beat the united youth to do it???? So #$%$!! #$%$!!!!
A great game of football to watch with Uniteds 2nd team for much of the match were the better side and showed lots of commitment and it wasn't until Chelsea were forced to introduce there much vaunted and expensive midfield that they started to take control. 3 penalties awarded and have no complaints about any of them all were stone cold. Too lose by the odd goal in 9 was a great achievement from United's youngsters and could even have won but for a bad mistake by Wooton giving away a last minute penalty to give Chelsea a full time draw. I am more than satisfied with the performance and Im sure our youngsters will have learn't a lot from the expierience
Chelsea had to bring the big guns off the bench to beat a second string United, not a great sign.
It was a good game of football from both teams. It is pity that some supporters are idiots and making stupid comments. Relax boys or you going to get hemorrhoid;))))
only Marco Marin
man utd.....defender all...are the youngest player which dun have experience to play....in big game but this game is a good platform for then to gain experience.....its okay...we lose but this will be a good start for the young lads...:) ggmu..........chelsea if vidic or smalling is there...sure we will no concede goals......
Manchester Fuuuuuuuu Chelsea Goal !!!!!!!!!!!!
as I many time said, once again I am saying, without Red Cards, Penalties & Offside goals M U will never win or even draw chelsea at stamfordbridge, Last year two Penalties make them 3=3, in last PL match 2 Red Cards and an offside goal, chelase won 5-4 but one penalty was not taken to chelsea, someone sayes it was M United's second team, only Roony & V persi didn't play but for chelsea Hazard, Ramiris & Oscar came in second half, and most of them were not thier first team players. Chelsea proved thier power KBL AFG
