    • 120+1 And that's it! Villa dump out City in another shock in the League Cup! It finishes 4-2 and silence at Eastlands!
    • 118' N'Zogbia is brought down by Kolarov as he runs away down the wing and it's a booking.
    • 113' GOAL VILLA! IT'S 4-2! Massive deflection takes the ball over the keeper Pantimilon, a freak goal. Agbonlahor's low shot took a huge touch off a City player, and that should be that.
    • 108' Kolo Toure clatters into N'Zogbia and he is booked.
    • 105' Young City winger Razak is injured, he is replaced by French full-back Helan.
    • 103 Fantastic defending by Vlaar as City scythed through the Villa defence, a corner.
    • 95' GOAL VILLA! Agbonlahor with a fierce shot from the edge of the box, well saved by the keeper but tapped in by N'Zogbia!! 3-2 to Villa!
    • 90+4 Manchester City and Aston Villa will need extra time after a 2-2 draw. Tevez hit the bar late on but Villa very much in it!
    • 71' GOAL VILLA! 2-2! Agbonlahor finds the net! Villa back on level terms! A fine low finish from 18 yards after good work from Benteke!
    • 63' City have had enough of this and have chucked Sinclair on. They have a free-kick just outside the box, Kolarov territory - AND HE SCORES! Fantastic curling free-kick. you just know he'll score from there!
    • 58' GOAL VILLA! The equaliser comes Agbonlahor skinning Lescot, Nastajic tackles but the loose ball finds Weimann whose low cross is batted out by the keeper - but only against Barry and in, an own goal. 1-1.
    • 29' GOAL CITY! Balotelli shrugs off his eye issue to drill a super low finish past Guzan after a nice first touch off Milner's pass. His first goal in seven games. 1-0.
    • 13' Big miss Villa! Bennett combines well with N'Zogbia, he gets past Milner and Toure, his cross is blocked by Lescott but Weimann should score only to sky it from eight yards!
    • 11' Not great for City - Balotelli, who appears to have these chronic eye problems, has gone down holding his face... He's up again. He had eye surgery recently, so he wouldn't have to wear contacts, which have been causing him conjunctivitis.
    • 2' Rodwell was named in the XI for City - but he's not there. Lescott instead. Not sure what happened but probably injured in the warm-up. Nastajic, meanwhile, steps into midfield. Silky for a defender, but surely you'd have a defender at right back and put Milner in the middle?
    • 19:20 An odd XI for City, with a mix of teenage academy players you've never heard of, like Denis Suarez and Abdul Razak, and jobbing Englishmen, while Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli lead the line. Jack Rodwell starts, and James Milner plays right-back it seems. Villa go with three up front as Darren Bent makes way for Andreas Weimann. Lowton gets a start too but closer to a first XI than City's team.
    • 19:20 TEAMS - Manchester City: Pantilimon, Kolarov, K. Toure, Nastasic, Milner, Rodwell, Barry, Razak, Suarez, Tevez, Balotelli /// Villa: Given, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett, El Ahmadi, Delph, N’Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Benteke.

  5. I think Mancini chose wrong goalkeeper.Pantilimon.

From Bsun, on Wed 26 Sep 11:24
  6. Sorry City from me as a neutral you are just not the biggest club anywhere - not alone Manchester. Be real, Old Trafford would be full for ANY game. Couldn't believe the "supporters" staying away when they are supposed to be so good??

From Stephen Turner, on Wed 26 Sep 9:12
  7. Michael Cox, dont know where you got them statistics from, Barry isnt the slowest player in the prem. Mertesacker is.

From Andy, on Wed 26 Sep 8:56
  8. Ok this was a good result for villa. However all the villa fans will suddenly come out of woodwork that werent there at the loss to southampton. Also lets be realistic they will just go back to losing in the premier league as their squad is shocking

From Andy, on Wed 26 Sep 8:54
  9. As a Villa fan what I like (in fact LOVE) about this is that ut shows we at last have a manager who can motivate the players. After getting hammered (and it was a hammering) at the weekend, to bounce back like this is something we haven't managed for a very long time. Thanks to the boss and well done to the players.

  10. City need to buy all their players because their reserve is useless...

  12. That's right Michael they would be very attuned to playing in the champions league after all they have played all of seven games in that competition.

From George, on Tue 25 Sep 23:43
  13. Please no one talk about City having a reserve team out! Citeh had 6 regulars in, same as Villa!

From Stephen Jones, on Tue 25 Sep 23:33
  14. Kolarov is so underrated... Class player and a fighter too.

From Pavle, on Tue 25 Sep 23:17
  15. Comment hidden due to its low rating. Show

Milner and Barry don't exactly get the pulses racing as midfield players. Barry is actually the slowest player in the league according to statistics. I don't think Mancini will hav sleepless nights about going out of this competition, but to lose to Villa at home will be a little wake up call. Top 4 team players couldn't care less about this competition; they are more attuned to playing in the chess games of the champions league and heat of battle League matches.

From Michaelmus, on Tue 25 Sep 23:04
  16. Moancini buying Walcott for 50 mil next!

From Dino, on Tue 25 Sep 22:56
  17. You notice there is absolutely no sympathy for the muzzer lovers.Bought a title but now having to gear up for the FFP rules hence the modest signings.Trying to gel them into a team where the guy at the side of you is on 250k a week isn't going to help.I'm afraid that 'second' season isn't going to get any easier. Sadly you don't have a steely jock to kick those backsides ,just a lame womancini who has already caved in to player power.

    From M, on Tue 25 Sep 22:56
  18. All the plastic City supporters already supporting PSG. Sad sad trash.

From Dino, on Tue 25 Sep 22:54
  19. aww no win in 4 games for city? welcome to the real world.

From swanbiff, on Tue 25 Sep 22:53
  20. Don't see anything on here from Uncle Malc, capt blue, trafford buccaneer, or blue chic. Oh wait a minute this isn't about United, guess thats why.Plus City got beat.
