With what is basically a new team­ Portsmouth were well in this match for long periods ­ You have to start somewhere, however, and make no­ mistake from a financial point of view Pompey are in a­ particularly bad way Worthy of special mention is the­ Portsmouth Manager who has done his very best quietly­ and in the most difficult circumstances

  2. pompey are so far gone that it ight be worth the going­ out of buisness and coming back as a new club at least­ then they will actually have some money to build them­ selves up to decent team again because plymouth are not­ a very good and team and they beat pompey easy

I think the reforming of Wimbledonby the supporters was­ a dig at MK Dons because of their opposition of the­ removal of 'their' club to Bedfordshire,­ however they did a brilliant job and they deserve all­ the credit for this - as they formed the club and in­ record time got back into the football leauge - I think­ they are still waiting for the day of a cup match v MK­ Dons. However I do see what raymond is saying and it­ is a valid point - especially as there would be no more­ debt - (or points deduction) what makes it worse for­ ANY club the ones who may have been behing the problem­ in the first place - got away without penalty - leaving­ the club and supporters on their 'uppers' and­ carrying the can for years to come.

Not quite the same thing but I just think Wimbledon­ being allowed to leave London and move to Milton Keynes­ was a terrible thing they were renamed as the MK Dons. ­ Anyway history has it Wimbledon supporters formed their­ own (new) club Take heart Pompey the rise of Wimbledon­ has been quite miraculous There is no reason­ Portsmouth could not do something similar but it is in­ the Lap of the Gods and the Debtors to whom the club­ owes money but hey..... Where there is life there­ is hope

I'd be interested to know the full extent of the­ Pompey debt problem While I fully expect the club to­ rise again they are a famous club with a great­ tradition I understand recent owners of the football­ club have failed Fit and Proper Person Tests not once­ but more than once (Hearsay) None other than Leeds­ United were reputedly losing One Million Pounds a week­ when O'Leary was Manager in an effort to compete. ­ I don't think Portsmouth will go out of business­ but if they do they should take heart from the position­ of Aldershot and Accrington Stanley who went out of­ business and are now playing League Football again I­ believe anyway Portsmouth are a bigger club than­ Aldershot or Accrington Stanley NO DISRESPECT
