  1. I don't forget the home of Vic Reeves & Wendy Craig. legends

  2. Mark Croft,

Search Darlingotn on the net and the first thing it comes up with is football, Yorkshire isn't even mentioned on the first page. (I'd look at the second, but it's 0330).

So, as the foundation town of the railways (without which there would be NO Football League as we know it today, as there would have been no way for teams to travel to away matches), the home of the Backhouse Bank (later a founding part of Barclays Bank), the home of the country's most prestigious regional newspaper (The Northen Echo, if you're wondering and can tear yourself away from the Sun) and more recently (and industrially) the home to Cleveland Bridge (the builders of 3 of the 6 longest suspension span bridges in the world) and to Orange Mobile Phones (formerly Rabbit Phones, if you're old enough to know what they are - the first mobile phone company). As well as this there is also Amdega, producers of the world's most expensive and best-quality conservatories and innumerable other high end businesses.

How, exactly, Mark, did you reach this ill-advised and ridiculous conclusion that Darlington is famous for "nothing of any value"?

Perhaps in future, you might consider your comments a little more carefully, and even (horror of horrors!) DO SOME SMEGGING RESEARCH?!?!

    Idiot.

  4. Its a joke because of your proximity to Wales ( like Shrewsbury ) and the word wales is often replaced by the 4 letter s word , which is appropriate considering relegation ( without any point deducted ). Maybe you aren't old enough to search in a history book Darlington is famous for the first ever passenger railway line in 1825. Chester is of course famous for a 3 sided town clock that doesn't have a face towards wales as they aren't worth the time of day. Also I understand that the ground does technically cross the welsh border. Enjoy the conference at least you'll have a team to watch next season unless you decide to support Wrexham instead who are definitely welsh.

  5. idiot
Chester is the county town of Cheshire - England
was built to keep the Welsh out of England.

Whereas Darlington is famous for nothing of any value. Search Darlington on the net and the first thing it came up with says, well it close to yorkshire.........some place you come from.

good result at your ground..ha ha
