Comment 64 - 83 of 83
am a nigerian and the hard truth is that the country is no longer in the league of footballing nations. we were once 5th in fifa ranking. look where we are now 40+.
fifa world cup in sa will expose the decay in the nigerian football occassioned by years of mis administration, corruption and the general sorry state of all fabrics of nigeria.
when u feel proud about naija football, i pity you all. after football, you go back to darkness, no water, bad roads, no telephone, no airlines, no ship, no train, no salaries, poverty, starvation, disease - the list is endless. the frustration is aggravated because naija is the richest country in africa. so whats all the fuss about naija being in sa. should'nt we be lifting the cup by now.
wtf henry????
42 ur a muppet
To Brahim: VIVE L'ALGERIE indeed! I'm neutral in the Algeria-Egypt contest, still, wouldn't it be great to see Alegria back in a World Cup after so many years. Do not lose your head in Khartoum and remember that it ain't over till it's over. No matter what happened in Cairo, that's a lesson you should learn.
el hamdo lil Allah (prayers and thanks Allah for every things and inshaa Allah near Wednesday Allah put Egyptian football team in south Africa 2010 .)
we've met them with flowers, Egypt met us with thugs stone throwers; we Shan't neither forget, nor forgive. Why has FIFA not taken sanction against Egypt, let' not forget that Blatter, once said that he hoped to see Egypt through, didn't he? Khartoum will be Egypt Foot ball graveyard........1,2,3 VIVA L'ALGERIE
Plaeya, you were looking in the wrong direction and i don't sympatize with you for being disappointed at all. buy tickets for any team of your choice but support naija to go beyond semi finals and save yourself the risk of high BP.
Phil(comment 51), can you swear by your grandfather's grave that you're not a slave in england. Your english is so poor that even Nigerian illiterates chuckle and wish never to come to school in england. As far as we are concern, england is past tense, no proud Nigerian breaks his head to travel to that place.
i was looking for angola or mozambique or zambia.
dont think the south african team can take me beyong the quaterfinals
all these prayers and God references about the 9gerian team is nauseating!!
AM PROUD TO BE A NIGERIAN,.....WE MADE IT TO SA....TO GOD THE GLORY BECAUSE HE MADE IT POSSIBLE...NAIJA FOR FOREVER :::" :::::::OLUKAYODE ....JOHANNESBRUG
nigeria has done well to qualify. i hope they are indeed a strong enough side to go deep in the tournament. my sense is that they are not that team. If you can not beat tunisia and conceed two goals to kenya , you probably are not good enough to qualify!! ordinarily, if the team is tight and the technical form is good, one can say the playoffin june is a new season where anyone can win. however , if your football is weak, if your desire is found wanting at crucial times, the new season can only promise more of the same.
i am buying tickets to follow ghana and ivory coast. and hope that one of them can at least take me beyong the quaterfinals!!
congratulation 9ger for making it to s/a thanx u mike, yakub and femi for doing it for 9ger..........and i hope virgin nigeria will do it 2morrow 2 (i mean the u-17 team oz i call them virgin coz they are still kids)

NIGERIA GO O O OL. No Aeroplane, Okay, delayed or poorly organised flight preparations obviously impacted poorly on our team performance. Please all these talk about FOREIGN COACHES must be consigned to trash basket. Tunde Disu,Ahmodu Shuibu,Laid Tella(RIP),John Obuh and many others are great sons of the soil. And PATRIOTIC. Lets look inwards and make our coaching crew more technically friendly. Or will anyone dire suggest that we should go bring back Adebayor and other notable Nigerians playing as foreigners to beef up our team? Any Nigerian coach who fumbles and gambles away our chances in soccer will return to Nigeria to live and die in shame which his family will inherit.

steve shut up,you should be Happy that Nigeria Team make it
we do not hate ourselves we hate stupid Goverment, congrat to Nigeria Team
congratulations nigeria on the very dramatic and unlikely qualification for the world cup, for manager amodu go get yourself a chilled bottle of don perignon you need to chill out after all the flak you had received. HOWEVER WHAT IS FIFA doing about the startling documentary evidence uploaded by the former chairman of sharks football club that fortune chukwudi the captain of nigerian under 17 football team revealing that the lad is not a day younger than 25 years.Lots of us nigerians are sick and tired of the fraud called age grade soccer in nigeria actively perpertuated by corrupt football administrators.By keeping a very ungainly silence about this exposure coming from no less a person than the player s club chairman fifa is certainly encouraging this sad scenario
I believe Mozambique was the toughest team in their group. And the strongest opposition they got was from the Kenya boys. Am okoyo K'oyamo from Kisumu Kenya
Thank God, we managed to qualify. They should be a systematic overhaul of the team. We lack pace, technique and cohesion. There is something wrong in our football. We definitely need a foreign coach of sound expertise to take us to the nations cup and S/Africa 2010.
Haba, dont we see how likes of Ivory Coast, Egypt, and Ghana play.
We were very sluggish in all department of football during today's match
N.F.A. should go back and watch the tapes of super eagles that won the nations cup in 1994 & U.S.A 1994. This definetly not the best performance we could produce in a tournament. We need to go back to the drawing board.
Comment 51 phil needs some phychatrist treament.Tell the English coys Cardbury,Guinness and the like to go home too an dreturn all the loot u got during years of colonisation
Yes we (Nigeria) qualified but the postmortem starts now. i suggest that we need a new coach/tm whatever u call him. the fact is that our team lacks pace an dis not very mobile. the style of play lacks pattern and is just by luck we are oing to SA. pls pls pls pls sack Amodu now.
