  DEAL: The big one is confirmed - Robbie Keane has JOINED Celtic on loan until the end of the season. He will be paraded at Celtic Park at 23:00 this evening and could make his debut against Kilmarnock tomorrow night.

  DEAL! Manchester City have just managed to sneak through their Adam Johnson deal before the deadline, signing him from Middlesbrough for around £7m. All the deadline day deals.

  DEAL! Sunderland have signed Alan Hutton on loan from Spurs - the second right-back to leave White Hart Lane today after Kyle Naughton. Black Cats sign Hutton on loan

  KEANE TO CELTIC! The Scottish transfer rumour is totally at midnight so they can still sign whoever they want. The rumour now is that Robbie Keane will join Celtic. Not sure about that - it would leave Spurs a tiny bit short up front, cannot see Harry letting that happen.

  Palace fans - we feel and bleed for you. Rotten scenario, hope the Moses sale helps out.

  FAIL! One move that will NOT happen, it seems, is Dindane's switch from Pompey to Blackburn. Talks broke down, apparently. He was at Ewood for a medical too. Oops. Still no word on if Asmir Begovic's move to Stoke has gone through or not. Pompey got the hump when Stoke scuppered Spurs' bid by offering first-team football, before offering the club less money. Naughty, and could see them reported.

"I'm really happy to be given this chance," Mido said. "I just want to prove I am a good player". Obviously they didn't watch him waddle about for Zamalek these past few months, with one goal in 15 appearances.

  DEAL! Did not expect this one. Marcelo Morino joins Wigan on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk! He is a Bolivia striker, 22, good in Brazil but not had a great time in the cold of Ukraine.

  DEAL! Daryl Murphy joins Ipswich from Sunderland on loan until the end of then season.

  STEAL! Arouna Dindane will leave Portsmouth because they are brassic and move to Blackburn, in need of a striker after Benni McCarthy joined West Ham. He is having a medical, they say.

  ON YER BIKE! Adam Johnson is hot-footing it to Manchester, according to reports. Yes, City have been given permission to speak to the soon-to-be-out-of-contract Middlesbrough winger.

  MIDO UPDATE: A bit more info about this impending move to West Ham... Apparently he feels he has something to prove in England and is willing to work for a significantly reduced wage of £1k a week. That's a salary of around £50k a year, the sort of money an accountant or junior lawyer of a similar age would earn in London. Interesting.

  DEAL! And it is the BIG one! Yes, Leon Best has joined Newcastle on a whopping three-and-a-half-year deal from Coventry. Three and a half? Really? For a clear stop-gap signing to help get promotion? Nice work if you can get it. Best, 25, has scored nine goals in 15 matches this season so he is a good shout at this level.

  OUT! Daniel Cousin joins Larissa on loan from Hull City until the end of the season. Nice weather out there.

  FAIL! Manchester City's proposed move for Parma's Kenya midfielder McDonald Mariga falls apart after work permit issues. Not surprising - they are not in the FIFA top 70 so a permit is not automatically issued, and there isn't time for an appeal. Shoulda got the ball rolling earlier boys!

  DONE! Benni McCarthy's move to West Ham from Blackburn is confirmed, undisclosed fee in the region of £2m. Mido on his way in too apparently, while Brazilian forward Ilan has been seen at the club.

  SIGNED! Edson Braafheid joins Diomansy Kamara at Celtic. Very good signings at that level, potentially.

  DEAL! Marcus Bent joins QPR on loan until the end of the season from Birmingham City. The 32-year-old will go straight into the squad for the match against Peterborough.

  TRANSFER DEADLINES: England is 5pm UK time, Scotland midnight; The French and Spanish have midnight deadlines (11pm UK time), Italy is 7pm (6pm our time) and Germany shut at midday. Russia, meanwhile, have different rules because their season is over. So if you fancy joining Zenit St Petersburg or FC Saturn, you have until March 7! Whoop!

  DEAL! West Brom have agreed a deal with Feyenoord to sign winger Andwele Slory for an undisclosed fee, according to the Dutch side.

  FULHAM: Stefano Okaka is hoping his move will help him develop as a player: "I am very excited, I have been with Roma for five years and have grown thanks to my team-mates. But to have a leap of quality it is important for me to go to England." MORE HERE!

  SUNDERLAND: Is Steve Bruce panicking? A couple of dodgy displays at the back and he is rejigging the entire defence. Alan Hutton is up North in talks over a loan from Spurs, while Aston Villa's Habib Beye is also linked with a move to the Black Cats, who have already signed Matthew Kilgallon and are looking at Wigan's attacking left-back Maynor Figueroa.

  NO DEAL: Roman Pavlyuchenko will not be joining Zenit St Petersburg from Spurs this window after Zenit director Igor Korneev told Sovetsky Sport: "The situation with Pavlyuchenko is clear - we are no longer interested in the player."

  BORO: Espanyol flop Shunsuke Nakamura could be reunited with former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan after the Spanish club accepted a £250k bid for the Japanese midfielder. The player, however, is not sure the Championship is for him.

  LEEDS: Leeds midfielder David Prutton has had his contract at Elland Road terminated by mutual consent and will join Colchester.

One man going the other way is defender Kyle Naughton, set to join Middlesbrough on loan.

  DEAL! Holland defender Edson Braafheid arrives in Glasgow to put the finishing touches on a loan move to Celtic from Bayern Munich! He only joined from Schteeeeve McLaren's Twente in the summer but he has failed to make an impact at Bayern. Hmmm, that's a Dutch international and a Senegal international: with Kamara and Braafheid Celtic will be a different proposition for the second half of the season.

  DEAL! One in one out for Fulham, as Diomansy Kamara leaves on loan to Celtic with the option to buy. He could be a great signing north of the border, the former Portsmouth striker has worked under Tony Mowbray at West Brom but has struggled with injuries at Craven Cottage. MORE HERE!

  ITALY: Inter have made a final offer of £7m plus Alen Stevanovic for highly-rated Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma. The out-of-favour Argentine, one of their best players but like Inter signing Goran Pandev isolated by mad chairman Claudio Lotito, is valued at £10m by the club. If that fails, Inter could sign Palermo's Fabrizio Simplicio (Gazetta, Corriere).

  Manchester City target Antonio Cassano rejects Fiorentina: "Thanks Fiorentina, but I want to stay here. I love this club, I love fans, I love Garrone (Samp's Chairman). It's MY club, it's MY Sampdoria". Madness. Let's see if he says that when Mancini comes knocking this summer. Instead, Fiorentina - who need someone to replace drug-ban Romanian Adrian Mutu - will sign Brazilian forward Keirrison on loan from Barcelona (Gazzetta).

  SPAIN: AS claim that Arsenal are interested in Real Madrid youngster Pablo Sarabia. The 17-year-old left-sided midfielder would be a direct replacement for Fran Merida, who has been linked with a return to Spain.

  Manchester City target Fernando Gago will stay at Real Madrid until the end of the season after summit talks with boss Manuel Pellegrini (MARCA). City want him for £15m but Real want more or nothing.

  Former Barcelona and Brazil midfielder Edmilson signs on a free for struggling Zaragoza. He was without a club after leaving Palmeiras, where he rebuilt his career after falling out of favour at Barca and flopping at Villarreal last season. More here!

  FRANCE: Nice striker Loic Remy is still hesitating over whether to join Rennes or Lyon in a £13m deal, or even stay on the Cote D'Azur. He is desperate not to jeopardise his World Cup chances by ending up on the bench somewhere.

  Ederson of Lyon is also caught between a rock and a hard place: the Brazilian joined Lyon last season and was a regular started but has fallen behind Miralem Pjanic and compatriot Michel Bastos in the pecking order. Rennes are also interested, along with Lazio.

  PSG are having a bit of a mare buying attacking midfielders: Manchester United have rejected a bid for Anderson, while Roma have said no to a £7m offer for Jeremy Menez.

  MANCHESTER CITY: City have been quiet (by their astronomical standards) this January but it's all kicking off today: Roberto Mancini is trying to beat the deadline with a £20 million bid for Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago, (Daily Mirror) while a £7m deal is likely to be finalised today to bring Parma's Kenyan midfielder McDonald Mariga to Eastlands. Valeri Bojinov will head in the other direction as a makeweight. (The Times) Meanwhile, Mancini's efforts to sign Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson continue, with the City boss having upped his inital £5m bid 'substantially' (PA Sport).

  MANCHESTER UNITED: United are dead set on keeping Wayne Rooney and what's more will rustle up £100 million for Alex Ferguson to spend. But not by the end of today, obviously. (Daily Star) United team page

  WIGAN: The Latics have won the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Victor Moses for what could be a bargain price of £2.5 million, (everyone) while The Sun claims that Stoke boss Tony Pulis is trying to bring Real Zaragoza's Jermaine Pennant back to the Premier League.

  WEST HAM: The Hammers have launched a last-minute effort to bring Irish striker Robbie Keane to on a loan deal - but Spurs reportedly want £1m to agree to the loan deal!   BLACKBURN: Rovers have made a late move to sign Aruna Dindane, the striker who has been one of Portsmouth's few bright sparks this season since arriving on loan from Lens. (Daily Mirror)

  LIVERPOOL: Rafa Benitez has denied widespread rumours that he has already agreed to leave Anfield and take the reins at Juventus this summer. (Daily Express)

  TOTTENHAM: Roman Pavlyuchenko is desperately trying to persuade Harry Redknapp to let him leave for Birmingham (Daily Star), while Spurs move for England goalkeeper David James could be back on after it emerged that fellow Pompey keeper Asmir Begovic will head to Stoke instead of White Hart Lane.
