IT’S ALL OVER! Dortmund and Arsenal emerge from Group F at the expense of Napoli. Despite playing against the 10 men of Milan for an hour, Ajax can’t find the breakthrough and must settle for a spot in the Europa League. Zenit and Porto both lose, but it’s the Russians who progress alongside Atletico with a measly six points. And Chelsea finish top of Group E after a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucharest with Schalke joining them in the last 16.
GOAL! Napoli 2-0 Arsenal. Jose Callejon lifts the ball over Wojciech Szczesny to leave Napoli needing just one goal. Just seconds remaining but is there one final twist in the Group of Death?
GOAL! Austria Vienna 4-1 Zenit. But there’s an even bigger goal in Group F…
GOAL! Marseille 1-2 Dortmund. Moments after Lewandowski is denied a clear penalty, Kevin Grosskreutz pops up with a (slightly fluky) goal late in the day. Delight for the Germans. Sadness for Napoli who must now score twice.
GOAL! Barcelona 6-1 Celtic. Georgios Samaras powers a header past Jose Pinto… Bit late for a comeback.
RED CARD! Mikel Arteta needlessly brings down Jose Callejon and picks up a second yellow. Surely Napoli now have to go all out for the two goals?
GOAL! Napoli 1-0 Arsenal. Gonzalo Higuain – the man who was reportedly close to joining the Gunners in the summer – has swivelled inside the box and fired the Italians into the lead. As it stands, Champions League finalists Dortmund are crashing out. The dilemma for Rafa Benitez is: push for two more goals to guarantee your side’s passage, or keep it tight at the back and hope Marseille can keep Dortmund at bay...
GOAL! Barcelona 6-0 Celtic. Substitute Cristian Tello has a crack from range, it flicks off Virgil van Dijk and past the wrong-footed Forster. Night to forget.
HAT-TRICK! Barcelona 5-0 Celtic. Neymar strolls past Ambrose and fires a low shot under Forster. Adam Matthews tried to hack it off the line but the defender could only help it into the net.
GOAL! Schalke 2-0 Basel. It’s another assist for Farfan as he picks out Matip for the second. The Germans can still top the group (if Chelsea throw away their lead at home to Steaua). The hosts were helped by a pretty hopeless offside trap which managed to play on five home players.
GOAL! Austria Vienna 3-1 Zenit. Thomas Murg drives at the visitors’ goal and unleashes a fierce effort. Juri Lodigin somehow adjusts to make the save but the keeper can only watch in dismay as Hosiner taps home the rebound.
GOAL! Schalke 1-0 Basel. The Germans grab the goal they need as Julian Draxler arrives late to turn in Jefferson Farfan’s cross.
GOAL! Austria Vienna 2-1 Zenit. Tomas Jun scores following Markus Suttner’s cross. Could be a massive goal in Group G.
GOAL! Barcelona 4-0 Celtic. Neymar plays a cheeky one-two with Xavi and pops the ball into the top corner. He folds his arm and nods his head in celebration – but it all looks rather awkward.
GOAL! Barcelona 3-0 Celtic. Typical Barca play carves open their opponents, allowing Neymar to grab his first Champions League goal. Game over before half-time.
GOAL! Austria Vienna 1-1 Zenit. The hosts profit from a woeful free-kick routine. Philipp Hosiner still has a lot to do but manages to roll a right-footed effort into the bottom corner to level.
GOAL! Barcelona 2-0 Celtic. Guessing Efe Ambrose will avoid watching the highlights tonight. Neymar wriggles past the defender with ease after a couple of feints and knocks the ball across to Pedro who can’t miss.
GOAL! Atletico 2-0 Porto. Diego Costa charges after a hopeful punt through the middle. The forward reaches the bouncing ball first, nods it around the keeper before tucking home from a tight angle.
GOAL! Austria Vienna 0-1 Zenit. Hulk slips a clever pass into the feet of Alexander Kerzhakov who finds the bottom corner. Big goal for the Russians.
TWO YELLOWS IN TWO MINUTES… HE’S OFF! Is there anything more humiliating than getting sent off for diving? Just moments after picking up a booking for a bad foul, Dimitri Payet throws himself to the ground in an attempt to con the referee and win a penalty. Mr Strahonja is having none of it and sends him off.
PENALTY... SAVED! It’s Josue vs. Daniel Aranzubia from 12 yards… Terrible penalty and the Atletico stopper makes a tiny leap to his left and palms clear. Still 1-0.
RED CARD! Horrible challenge from Riccardo Montolivo as he rams his studs onto Christian Poulsen’s ankle. Not nice, but what a chance for Ajax to qualify.
GOAL! Atletico 1-0 Porto. Raul Garcia, after being found by Emiliano Insua, smashes into the top corner. Are Atletico this year’s dark horses?
GOAL! Marseille 1-1 Dortmund. Bit of a shocker from Roman Weidenfeller who completely misjudges a cross into the box. It’s flicked against the bar, bounces down onto the line but the awkward official behind the goal is not required as Souleymane Diawara follows up to level.
GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Steaua Bucharest. Oscar flicks a corner towards the backpost where a combination of Demba Ba and the unfortunate Daniel Georgievski bundle it into the net. Looks like an own goal.
GOAL! Barcelona 1-0 Celtic. Alexis Sanchez worms his way inside and although the Chilean’s effort is beaten away by Fraser Forster, Gerard Pique is on hand to poke home the rebound.
GOAL! Marseille 0-1 Dortmund. Robert Lewandowski outmuscles his marker before clipping the ball delightfully over Steve Mandanda. That makes Group F very interesting.
