    • 90+3' FULL TIME! Canada have done it! They struck early and they made it stick. Team GB's players sit on the pitch devastated. They didn't give of their best today, and their tournament ends in Coventry. That means the semi-finals see France play Japan and the United States take on Canada.
    • 90+3' CHANCE! Yankey's dead ball curled in with the left foot, Carney pops up with the header, but she needed to glance it rather than make a full contact, and that's the end of that chance. Over the bar it sails.
    • 90+2' You can feel the disappointment in the crowd and amongst the players - they had very high hopes coming into this match.
    • 90+1' Asante and Fara Wiliams try to link up down the right - but the cross doesn't come in. Canada have it covered.
    • 90' McLeod, the keeper, also appears to be wounded after that one. There's three minutes of stoppages to play.
    • 89' CHANCE! Stoney so nearly on the end of a ball in from Aluko, and just couldn't turn the ball around and get a shot away from close range. There's also a shout for a penalty in an unseemly scramble for the ball. In the end it's Tancredi who's been hurt the most.
    • 88' Final Canada change: Timko replaces Sinclair. She's had a superb game.
    • 87' Williams has a shy from 25 yards, but she's falling as she strikes the ball. It loops over the crossbar.
    • 86' Yellow card awarded to the Canadian full-back Nault as she dallied over a throw-in. Timewasting earns Canada their first booking of the tournament.
    • 85' What is it with GB and quarter-finals? The men are in action tomorrow against South Korea, and they'll be hoping for a better display.
    • 84' Yankey on for Sophie Bradley - the final change - and it's a very positive one. There's nothing left to do but to go for it.
    • 83' SINCLAIR SHOULD FINISH IT! She was unmarked from 20 yards out, but didn't hit the ball cleanly and left Bardsley to take a simple catch.
    • 82' Substitution - GB replace Little with Williams in what may be the final role of the dice.
    • 81' GB could really have done with that being awarded. Aluko had her foot clipped, and Wilkinson made no contact with the ball. Half a chance to get the team back in the match.
    • 80' APPEAL FOR A PENALTY! Aluko thinks she was fouled by Wilkinson - and replays show she was right. Aluko thumps the ground in frustration.
    • 79' Useful throw-in opportunity for GB here - high on the left flank. Can the hosts capitalise?
    • 77' Another Canada change - Parker replaces Schmidt.
    • 75' GB have two changes left - and they surely have to use them and push for a goal? There's no time to lose.
    • 74' GB drive down the left -just as Scott gets past Kyle, Wilkinson comes across to cover.
    • 73' GB have not given up, but they are struggling to ask different questions of their opponents. Canada seem to have their every move covered.
    • 71' The corner comes to nothing, but Canada are running the clock down expertly here. The time is running out.
    • 70' Corner for Canada - very dangerous times for GB - Sinclair, who has already scored tonight, has more than 130 goals for her country.
    • 69' McLeod has the ball safely back in her hands again. She's soaking up the time here, letting Canada get forward once more.
    • 68' Do GB believe that they can turn this match around? If they grab an equaliser with 20 minutes to go, they would have huge support from the crowd as they search for the next one.
    • 67' A CHANCE! Fabulous effort from sub Fara Wililams, who jinked down the right and into the box, before crossing for Scott - but the header drifted wide and the chance slips away.
    • 66' Decent delivery, but Canada clear their lines. They didn't escape the group stage at the last Olympics but they're making up for it here.
    • 65' Big chance for GB - a set piece which Carney stands over on the right wing. Bodies coming forward for the home side.
    • 63' A change for GB - White replaced by midfielder Fara Williams. Looks like the team will have a bit of a reshuffle here.
    • 61' Moscato almost picks her way through the GB defence - they remain a danger on the break.
    • 59' It's Canada who make the first change, though - Filigno, who grabbed the opener, replaced by Kyle. A slightly defensive move - are Canada protecting their lead?
    • 58' Houghton looks to be in some trouble here - she's on the ground and in some serious pain.
    • 57' Canada are ranked 7th in the world at present - they were second to the US in qualifying for the tournament, and they could be facing a rematch.
    • 56' One-on-one opportunity for Tancredi against Stoney - the GB defender keeps her cool and plays the home side out of trouble.
    • 54' Aluko looks to be the key for GB. She's caused a lot of trouble on the left, but the final ball has not quite come off, or she's not been given the right service.
    • 52' McLeod taking her time as she prepares for a goal kick. Canada don't have to rush here, they're in control of the game.
    • 51' Errant pass from Ellen White and that sends Canada on the break. Tancredi picks out Matheson, who plays it back in... But the control lets her down.
    • 50' John Herdman, the Canada coach, remains the coolest person in the stadium. Chewing gum and letting the drama unfold in front of him.
    • 49' Teasing ball from Aluko - that interested Kelly Smith but it was just out of her reach - still, a corner for GB as they pile forward.
    • 48' Scott wins a free kick against Sinclair - somewhat lucky to do so after knocking the ball a little beyond her reach.
    • 47' There's plenty to be done but GB did fashion chances in the first half - they were undone by two moments of magic.
    • 46' The second half begins!
    • 45+2' HALF-TIME: GB 0-2 Canada! Just as we were starting to talk about the team as possible medal winners, there's something of a reality check as the Canadians strike early. It's going to take a remarkable comeback to reach the semi-finals.
    • 45' Two minutes of injury time to be played.
    • 43' Aluko again cannot get on the end of a through ball - she's making some willing runs, though, and if she latches on it could be real danger.
    • 41' Hope Powell better have her most Churchillian half-time team talk ready - she's going to need to inspire her side.
    • 39' Chance missed for Ellen White - she shoots from range after being played in by Kim Little.
    • 37' Canada have earned this position, and they can now control this match by sitting a little deeper, defending stoutly, and striking on the break.
    • 35' Britain are starting to enjoy a bit more of the possession, but Canada look a real menace on the break. Sinclair looking to break the lines, and Tancredi as well.
    • 33' GB are trying to pass the ball and spread the play. Nice link-up work from Houghton and Aluko leads up to a good exchange.
    • 32' It's the US who await the winners. If they're watching, they'll be impressed by what they've seen from their North American neighbours.
    • 30' Crowd looking to get behind their team and urge them back into the contest, but it's an uphill battle at the moment. A through ball attempted for Asante is just overhit.
    • 28' They have scored well before - their 3-0 win over Cameroon was very impressive - but they hadn't conceded in the tournament before tonight.
    • 27' What can GB do from here? They had just begun to look as if they were getting into the game, only to lose that second goal.
    • 25' GOAL! SINCLAIR MAKES IT TWO! A terrific free kick, the Canadians are delighted - she whipped it over the wall and gave Bardsley little hope of stopping it. GB in a heap of trouble now.
    • 23' SO CLOSE! A great move from GB, and the header from Carney looks set to hit the back of the net, but it drifts just wide. Best chance for the hosts so far.
    • 21' Canada head coach John Herdman looks more than happy with what he's seen so far. He's watching on calmly.
    • 20' Sinclair at the opposite end tries to weave her way from the edge of the box to the wing - Stoney shepherds her out of harm's way. Very solid defending.
    • 18' Penalty shout as Aluko is felled charging into the box. It's not given, but GB will settle for a corner as they continue to push for an equaliser.
    • 16' That's the first time McLeod has been tested - a long shot from Scott. The Canada stopper does well to block it, but it's given the crowd something to get excited about.
    • 14' The best-laid plans for Hope Powell's side have been torn up. How they react here to their most serious test yet will be crucial. Yet to get involved in the game.
    • 12' GOAL! CANADA ARE IN FRONT! Well, that's quite something. It came from a corner, but it was really Filigno's good work to turn it into something special. Met on the half volley, lashed into the roof of the goal from 15 yards. Unstoppable.
    • 10' Alex Scott tries a cross-come-shot as GB venture forward, but that's not one to trouble the keeper McLeod.
    • 8' Canada certainly having the better of the play in the early stages. Not afraid to go down the wings, and they've enjoyed most of the possession to boot.
    • 6' First shot of the match - and it's Canada's. Tancredi strikes first time from a loose ball just outside the area, but not a problem for the goalkeeper.
    • 5' Awaiting the winner of this match is the USA. They were one of the pre-tournament favourites.
    • 4' This is the final quarter-final of the day - earlier Japan beat Brazil, Sweden lost to France, and USA downed New Zealand.
    • 3' Canada by contrast were third in group F, albeit behind the impressive Sweden and Japan.
    • 2' GB women won their group with a perfect record, culminating in a 1-0 victory over Brazil.
    • 1' Away we go!
