Last season Cristiano Ronaldo was far and away the best player in the Premier League, but he's been a complete letdown in this campaign and I don't think United would miss him if he left in the summer.
He just hasn't looked interested. He's not going past players like he did and the hunger doesn't seem to be there. After last year I expected him to come back with some new tricks and the desire to become an even better player, but it hasn't happened.
Naturally opposition teams are devoting more resources to stopping Ronaldo, but if he wants to be thought of as United great he needs to reproduce his form year in, year out. That's what George Best did and that's what Ryan Giggs continues to do.
There's too much petulance in Ronaldo's approach this season and he doesn't seem prepared to chase back 40 or 50 yards to win the ball back like his did last term. I've been really disappointed by his attitude, which is partly responsible for United's dip in standards recently.
To be honest I was surprised they lost at home to Liverpool - I've had to eat a lot of humble pie after that result. But the defeat at Fulham came as an even bigger shock.
The last thing United needed was for ill-discipline was to creep in. Paul Scholes's red card was just one of those things, but there is absolutely no excuse for the way Wayne Rooney behaved. United will lose out on the title if they don't get a grip on their discipline.
Rooney has the opposite problem to Ronaldo. He wants it too much and lets the passion overflow. I think he was really shaken up by the reaction to his comments about Liverpool and he was still smarting from the Liverpool loss when he came on against Fulham.
There's a reason things aren't going United's way at the moment. To win the league is not always about playing the best football. Opposition teams will be desperate to beat the champions this time round and United need players who are willing to fight all the way.
You can't blame Sir Alex Ferguson for United's discipline problems. Once players get on the field it's difficult to control them and I'm sure Alex hasn't let his standards slip since my time at the club.
If Rooney can focus his anger and Ronaldo can produce just 50 per cent of the performances he did last season I think United will defend their crown.
But people shouldn't get too carried out with United's two defeats. In the 1993/94 season Eric Cantona was sent off twice in a week and everybody started to question our credentials, but we recovered quickly and still went on to win the title.
first
ya...u r right
i wonder y eurosport r still hiring u!

I have to agree. Ronaldo was immense last season.
If he wants to be remebered as a true great, then he has to keep performing consistantly.
It's no good having a one-off season where everything goes your way.
Perhaps Utd would have been better off selling him while his price was still sky high?
Either way, I hope he goes in the summer and we bring someone like Ribery or Silva in.
if you realised thi guy has a diploma in sdating theobvious.he is not writing objectively as he is reffering to man u as WE
ronaldo..dont ever leave mu.....parker shuddup! ronoldo is a far better player than u ever were!

ronaldo still greatest player in the world! 16 goals dis season, even after missing almost half d season! only anelka scored more than him....wat does dat say ppl?!!!!!!
If Man U go from quintuple talk to ending up with nothing I'll laugh soooo hard!!!
Nobody will offer fair value this summer. So few of the top clubs have money to spend at all, and nobody will value Ronaldo the way they did a year ago. You don't sell one of your best players in his prime for a fraction of his worth.
You don't need every player on a team to be world player of the year every year to be a quality contributor. 13 goals this year in England, T2 in the league. If you can sell him for a big paycheck that is nice, but you also need to replace him, and who are you going to get to do that?
The only club out there who would offer fair value is Man City. They would bid way more than fair value. But you don't sell a player who can still win another few player of the year awards in his career to a league rival.
you were a united player. now you write as if you are independent but when you comment on chelsea, liverpool, arsenal, your comments are always against them and in favour of man u but a lot of people dont always read the undertone. today it's clear from your comments that you feel very passionate for man u. I have no probs with that but dont write damaging comments about the other three again.
Parker is hungry, why is selling Ronaldo your best shot , Was he the emergency goalkeeper at craven cottage or was he 11 players rolled into one. He is still manu's highest goal scorer with 13 premier league goals, do not forget he started this season with injury and has been sent off once. Does this have to do with his being none english, put sentiment away and if you can not please Parker resign, you are disgusting
Chrissy ronaldo's stocks down! Should've shipped him to Madrid while he price was at peak value. He doesn't love man u anyway.
#14 Says that crashing Ferrari's is not good for your confidence, work rate or score rate
No one produces seasons like Ronaldo produced last year year in and year out. Lets not forget he started the season with a knee injury that required surgery. Mr. Parker suffers from the same problem that grips many football fans. He flies to whatever extreme is fashionable at the moment.
I think parker has a point, ron seems to have lost something that made him great last season
What?! Ronaldo has been good this season - granted he has not been as prolific as last year but then that was never going to happen. ManU should not sell Ronaldo - what a complete load of Bull.
are you mad?
Gary Lineaker never got sent off if Ronaldo was anything more than mediocre he would be doing all right but he and Berbatopf are turning the theatre of dreams into a nightmare
o shut up fool, this team is great the way is it most of the players are young and you want to break them.

Parker has so much passion for united and it reflects whenever he comments on the other three. I've always said he writes terrible things about the other three but now I understand why
Back to last weeks topic of Utd's defeat to Liverpool being a 'blip'.....
shut up paul shut up, please dont waste your breath on this type of article. write on how drogba needs to give it up and move to italy with all the other old players same for ballak, O might i add that arsenal might need soe wisdom as well, o liverpool just need a bigger squad with more variety, city need a french frank as well as a dutch frank. spurs need one big striker to play with the tiny tims, and villa well they just need more money. thats it from me
true united fans would agree ? just wait till the sumer and the champs will still b up where they belong ????
