    • 90' Gerrard slips in a ball for Kuyt but Cech races out to save.
    • 88' Riise dives to head a Chelsea cross back to Reina - he is lucky it was straight because if it went either side it might have been an own goal.
    • 86' Avram Grant makes his final move - Pizarro on for Cole.
    • 84' Kuty does well to fashion a cross from the right - Pennant gets his head on it but he was under pressure and it goes wide.
    • 81' Finally some nice play by Chelsea - Mikel chips in a ball into the box and then without the ball touching the ground Ashley Cole side foots it to Ballack who then turns to ball just wide - unlucky!

    • 55' A Liverpool passing move is ended when Mascherano puts it out of play. At first I thought somebody might have been injured but no - it was just a really bad pass - sums up the match.
    • 52' Makelele has what is only the second Chelsea attempt on goal today and we use the word attempt loosely as it is a 40 yard effort that goes miles wide.
    • 51' Liverpool have a free-kick in a good central position 30 yards out. It is layed off to Gerrard who tries to drive a low effort but it is straight at the wall.
    • 48' Not much atmosphere here in the ground you just feel that the fans are waiting for something to happen. Skrtel meanwhile, is off receiving treatment for a hand injury

    • 31' A Chelsea corner comes in a Reina falls to the ground. Riley correctly gives a free out though for a foul by Anelka.
    • 27' Liverpool should do better from a counter-attack move. Mascherano has a chance to play in Crouch but his pass is a little wide. Crouch's cross is then deflected into the hands of Cech.
    • 25' Mascherano seems to bring down Joe Cole in the box but Mike Riley waves it away. That looked like it could have been a penalty.
    • 23' Chelsea really struggling to get going at the moment - Liverpool the better team so far in a very poor match.
    • 20' Liverpool enjoying a nice little spell of pressure. Gerrard does great work down the right to nick the ball past Carvalho and then deliver a cross. Again Crouch wins the header but he is a bit off balance and can only head straight at Cech.
    • 18' The first chance of the game - Crouch wins a header and plays the ball down to Babel - the Dutchman then plays it back to Crouch who fires just wide of the target.
    • 15' Crouch gets his head on a cross from Finnan but it neither has the power or direction to cause problems to Cech's goal and goes wide.
    • 11' It has been a really dull start to this game - Chelsea are winning the possession battle but there have been no chances whatsoever from either side.
    • 8' We're still waiting for this match to take off - with both teams still feeling each other out.
    • 5' Chelsea doing the pressing now but Anelka can't get a cross and then a shot past the first Liverpool defender.
