    • 88' Elano gets a standing ovation as he is brought off for Geovanni. The goal capped off another stunning display from the Brazilian. Sven looks delighted as he slaps him on the back!
    • 86' GOAL! Elano scores an absolute belter! The free kick from 30 yards out is whacked in right into the top corner! No curl on it, just pure power and precision! What a way to open your account for a club!
    • 83' Elano plays in Mpenza who shoots with his rigth, and it's a great block by Rozenhal. Taylor is replaced by Faye for Newcastle.
    • 78' City break from that corner and Richards is on the edge of the box! He turns Rozenhal well but his shot, on his left foot, is woeful. An A for effort though.
    • 78' Onuoha heads out for a corner under no pressure whatsoever! It's cleared but eventually Taylor gets a shot off, which is deflected for another corner, but it's cleared.

    • 27' Shouts of handball as Milner intercepts a pass in midfield. He goes forward, passes, gets it back and shoots, but the shot is low and easy for Hart, who is yet to really be tested by the Toon players.

    • 17' Mpenza is causing all kinds of problems for Taylor and Rozenhal. He's putting himself about and forces Taylor into a dangerous backpass that Given does well to volley away.
    • 14' City are running the game at the moment. But a rare misplaced pass from Hamann goes straight to Martins! City recover the ball and control of the midfield.
    • 11' Johnson and Ireland hits one-touch passes to tee up Elano on the edge of the box! His shot is well struck, going top corner. It's a great save from Given! That's why he's back in the side! Great football all round.

    • 5' Given's in trouble! Mpenza charged down his clearance but the deflection takes the ball away from goal. He knocks it back to Elano but his shot is an air kick under pressure from Geremi. Not a good start on Given's return to the side!
