    It was honours even at the Riverside stadium as Middlesbrough and Newcastle United played out a 2-2 draw in the 120th Tyne-Tees derby. More

    • 90 +2 Cacapa does very well to intercept Tuncay as he tries to latch onto a through ball. Tuncay fouls him for his efforts and gets booked. Rochembackl also gets booked, so that's six players, meaning a fine for Boro.
    • 90' Due to all the injuries and stoppages in this half, there will be five minutes of injury time! Plenty of time for someone to find a winner!
    • 83' George Boateng is replaced by Lee Cattermole. The uncompromising midfielder has had another good game. He hands the captain's armband to Woodgate.
    • 79' GOAL!! Newcastle hardly have time to breath before Julio Arca chests the ball and buries a left foot volley from the edge of the box! All four goals in this game have been of high quality. Will we see a fifth and a winner?
    • 76' GOAL!! Mark Viduka gets his first Newcastle goal against his old club, and it's a beauty! He gets the ball with hs back to goal, and manages to turn Woodgate and volley low it into the far corner! It was amost inevitable.

    • 71' Sam Allardyce uses the break in play for Aliadiere to be treated to bring on Michael Owen for Martins. Aliadiere went for a header and went right into Taylor's elbow. It doesn't look intentional, and the referee was right there to see it.

    • 66' Milner's right knee is bleeding after he is fouled on the right wing. Both Rozenhal and Cacapa are up for the corner. Cacapa gets a touch but the ball ricochet's up into the air and then the referee sees a Newcastle foul in the box. Boateng is now recieving treatment, but he'll stay on.
    • 61' N'Zogbia puts a dangerous cross in from deep that flies right across the Boro goal. Schwarzer can't decide whether to stick or twist, but Daniel Wheater ensures that Viduka can't reach it for Newcastle's first corner of the match.
    • 58' Claudio Cacapa comes on for Ramage, who himself came on for Stephen Carr early in the first half. Taylor will go to the right, and Cacapa will partner Rozenhal in the centre.
    • 56' Ramage picks up an innoccuous injury on the right wing, allowing Boro to break. They have men bearing down on goal when Mike Dean decides it looks serious enough to stop play, much to the annoyance of the Boro forwards! Taylor looks in agony as he clutches his knee. He just landed awkwardly.
    • 53' Mido, Aliadiere and Rochemback link up well on the edge of the box, with the latter forcing a save from Steve Harper at close range!
    • 52' Mido wins a free kick right in front of Sam Allardyce, who can't resist a little comment to the Boro striker about how easily he went down!

    • 45' Aliadiere has been working tirelessly up front for Boro. He comes in from the left and rolls it across to Rochemback. The midfielder has to turn past his man, which puts him off balance and his shot once again goes harmlessly wide.
    • 42' Boro win a corner but it could have been so much more! Arca finds Downing in the box with a delightful through ball, but Downing miscontrols and Taylor clears the ball for a corner, which comes to nothing.
    • 39' Downing beats Geremi out on the left wing and feeds Mido on the touchline. The Egyptian puts in a dangerous low cross to Aliadiere, but it's intercepted well by Taylor.
    • 36' Butt sloppily underhits a pass and gives Boro possession. Neither side have been able to keep their foot on the ball and really dictate the pace of this game as of yet.
    • 34' Michael Owen is having a little jog along the touchline. Despite starting for England in midweek both Martins and viduka have been preferred, and they have linked up well so far.
    • 31' Two great saves in a minute from Harper! First he palms Rochemback's shot from distance after seeing it late, then does well to stop Alaidiere's effort from the left! This derby is alive and kicking now.
    • 27' GOAL!! Mido has equalised for Boro! Rochemback redeems himself by chipping the ball over to Mido, who deftly chests it down on the turn and takes it round Steve Harper to roll it into an empty net! He is then booked for celebrated cockily right in front of the Newcastle fans! He just can't help himself!
    • 26' Rochemback has been so wasteful today! Aliadiere tackles Rozenhal well and the ball comes loose for Rochemback on the rigth with loads of space, but the Brazilian's return pass is awful and N'Zogbia clears.
    • 24' Viduka flicks on a long ball for Milner, who is through on goal, but he is flagged up for offside. Newcastle look the better side at the moment and deserve their lead.
    • 21' GOAL!!! N'Zogbia curls it into the top corner on his right foot! He was allowed to cut inside by George Boateng and had all the time he needed to take aim, fire and score with his weaker foot!
    • 19' Fabio Rochemback has another shot from distance. It's struck beter, but with similar results as it sails high and wide. The Boro front two have hardly had a sniff so far.
    • 18' It's Daniel Wheater's turn to make a timely challenge, this time on Milner as he was about to burst through on his own. Referee Mike Dean looked over at his linesman but decided not to give a foul.
    • 17' Boateng makes an excelent challenge on Smith in the area! Martins broke down the right again and squared it to the England man, but Boateng timed his tackle perfectly to help Boro clear their lines.
    • 16' Viduka plays it over the top from midfield to Obafemi Martins. The Nigerian is forced wide by Woodgate and blasts it wide of the near post. Schwarzer was never really worried.
    • 14' A huge cheer goes up as Viduka is tackled by Luke Young! Julio Arca plays it up but again Mido is offside.
    • 11' Boro push forward again with Downing. The England winger's near post cross doesn't reach Aliadiere and Harper collects easily.
    • 9' Boro can break now as Arca feeds Downing on the left. Newcastle clear it, but boro come again. Rochemback squares up for the shiot but it's struck poorly and goes well wide.
    • 6' Fabio Rochemback finds Aliadiere in the centre, but the Frenchman gets crowded out by Rozenhal and Taylor. It's the first decent foray by the home side into the Newcastle half.
    • 5' The change is made. The good news is that Carr walked off the pitch.
    • 4' Stephen Carr is hobbling already. He is now getting attention and Peter Ramage is warming up, ready to fill in at right back.
    • 2' Mark Viduka gets a big boo from the Boro crowd as soon as he gets anywhere near the ball! In fact the Australian is one of three players on the pitch who have also represented the opposition, along with Geremi and Woodgate.
