    Time:90'
    • Portsmouth
    • Sunderland
    • FT And there is the final whistle - Portsmouth were average but Sunderland were awful and Pompey deservedly get the points.
    • 90+2 Glen Johnson fires an effort wide from just outside the box after another good run - he has been the best player on the pitch today.
    • 90' Sunderland have three extra minutes to try and save something from this game but it is Portsmouth who are still pressing.
    • 90' Good stuff from Defoe as he wiggles around Etuhu and then just fires wide.
    • 88' Yorke now clips Johnson down the right and is also booked. They shift the free to Diarra but his shot is blocked.
    • 86' Yellow card for Collins as he takes down Glen Johnson on the right edge of the area. Muntari wastes the free-kick though.
    • 84' For the first time today Daryl Murphy's presence is noted and it is because he has been substituted with Prica coming on.
    • 81' Gordon spills a cross but Collins is right beside him to clear the danger.
    • 79' Leadbitter goes off and Yorke comes on Roy Keane again tries to change things.
    • 77' Sunderland are trying to press on but they really have not created anything in this match and you wouldn't put too much money on them getting an equaliser.
    • 74' Sol Campbell makes a real mess of trying to clear a harmless looking cross and there are panic stations in the the box but Diarra hacks it clear.
    • 71' And Roy Keane wastes no time in making a change with Chopra on for Reid.
    • 69' AND DEFOE MAKES NO MISTAKE FROM THE SPOT KICK - He sends Gordon the wrong way and Portsmouth take the lead.
    • 68' PENALTY FOR PORTSMOUTH - Phil Bardsley leaves a trailing leg and Kranjcar goes down in the box.
    • 67' Johnson cuts into the box and then tries to sneak in a low drive at the near post but again Gordon gets down nice and early to save.
    • 64' Portsmouth need a spark - can Kanu provide it? He is on for Baros.
    • 60' Some nice close passing from Portsmouth nearly leads to an opening but Muntari just overhits the final pass to Defoe.
    • 57' Defoe gets a low shot from just outside the box on target but again it didn't have the power or direction to really trouble Craig Gordon.
    • 53' Central free from 30 yards out for Sunderland - Leadbitter fires powerfully but it was a couple of feet wide.
    • 51' Baros who has been largely anonymous curls a good cross in from the right - Defoe then shapes his body well to get a shot on target but there was never enough power on the effort to really test Gordon.
    • 48' Hreidarsson wants a penalty as he thinks he is held back by Evans at the back post but the referee in a good spot gives nothing.
    • 46' Early chance here maybe as Etuhu tugs the shorts of Kranjcar just outside the box but again his shot is headed clear before even reaching the goal.
    • 46' And off we go again at Fratton Park...some chances please!!!
    • HT And there is the half-time whistle - a really uninspiring half of football but let's hope for better in the second-half.
    • 45+2 Sunderland doing the pressing in these final few moments of the half.
    • 44' Diop out-jumps Collins at the back post to get his head on a cross but it goes harmlessly wide.
    • 41' Andy Reid fires at goal from a free-kick 35 yards out and it is deflected away for a corner.
    • 37' The Portsmouth bench were not happy with the decision either and it looks Pompey assitant Joe Jordan mave have been sent to the stands.
    • 37' Portsmouth's best attacker today has been their right-back Glen Johnson - however he has now just been booked for giving too much lip after he was deemed to have fouled Andy Reid while attacking with the ball. To be fair it did seem like both players were tugging at each other.
    • 35' Hreidarsson arrives late to get his head on a corner from Kranjcar but under pressure he can only head wide.
    • 32' Sunderland appeal for a penalty as a tame shot into the ground jumps up and hits Sol Campbell on the arm. Campbell had his arms by his side though and the referee waves it away.
    • 29' The passing really has been poor from both sides so far. Diarra is the latest to overhit a ball to Johnson.
    • 26' The game going through (not its first) dull spell. It is a cliché to say this I know but we really could do with a goal.
    • 22' Muntari tries his luck with a 30 yarder free-kick from a decent central position. It is not a bad effort but it was always rising over.
    • 20' Portsmouth starting to spend more time in the Sunderland half now but still no real chances to speak of. Their final ball has been poor.
    • 17' New Scotland assitant manager Terry Butcher is watching this game - Craig Gordon is the only Scottish player on the pitch for him to keep an eye on though.
    • 15' Defoe controls a cross from Muntari just six-yards out but then makes a mess of trying to get the shot away - he was offside in any event.
    • 13' It has been a slow start to this game from Portsmouth - their passing has been a little off but Glen Johnson nearly found Defoe with a curled low cross from the right but the ball was just a little beyond him.
    • 10' Sunderland with a good break from deep but the attack is ended when Jones is crowded out on the edge of the box.
    • 8' Jones gets a little bang in the face and is in a little bit of pain but he is the type of player who is usually giving the bruises - he has already been making his presence felt in the early stages of this match.
    • 4' No clear chances as of yet but a lively start to this match - Sunderland look like they are here to attack and not just to sit back and play for the draw.
    • 1' The players line up for kick-off. Away we go!
    • - Milan Baros starts up front for Pompey alongside Jermain Defoe. Sunderland are playing one man up, Kenwyne Jones, with a five-man midfield.
