    • Manchester City
    • 90+4 All over, Spurs open up a bit of breathing space for themselves at the bottom of the table. They move up four places to 13th. City remain in sixth place. Thanks for joining us - see you next time.
    • 90+1 Substitution Tottenham. Dimitar Berbatov replaced by Teemo Tainio
    • 89' Looks like the points are going to the home side. City have given up the ghost. Petrov receives the ball out wide and, seeing no viable option up front as a target, thumps the ball specutatively and disconsolately out of play over Robinson's head from 60 yards. I think it was supposed to be a shot.
    • 86' Substitution Man City. Darius Vassell replaced by Geovanni
    • 84' GOAL!!!!! Tottenham 2-1 Man City. Defoe smashes home after a Malbranque cross from the left hits the post. City were still unsettle after the sending off and had switched off.
    • 83' Red card Man City. Stephen Ireland gets a straight red for a horrendous two-footed lunge on Lee Young-Pyo
    • 80 Substitution Tottenham. Darren Bent replaced by Jermain Defoe
    • 76 City captain Richard Dunne becomes the second player to go in the book after a rash tackle on Didier Zokora.
    • 75' Jenas goes agonisingly close for Spurs, side-footing inches over after good work from berbatov. He should perhaps have gone for more power rather than placement.
    • 72' Spurs haven't let their heads go down despite conceding. They are attacking with renewed vigour and Chimbonda is a marauding presence down the right. Berbatov is a constant irritant to Richards and Dunne - his perpetual movement off the ball causing them plenty of problems.
    • 65' GOAL!!!!! Tottenham 1-1 Man City. Rolando Bianchi makes an instant impact by converting a Martin Petrov corner with a thumping header from six yards. Possession-wise, that had been coming.
    • 61' Substitution Man City. Kelvin Etuhu replaced by Rolando Bianchi.
    • 60' Berbatov scuffs a shot goalswards. it was going wide but Isaakson is unsure of his positioning and gets down to push it behind for a corner. City clear. Meanwhile, Rolando Bianchi is preparing to come on for City.
    • 54' City are pressing more this half with Gelson particularly keen to make up for his first half error which led to the goal. It's all a bit headless chicken though, and City's lack of a prven goalscorer is becoming increadingly obvious as the weeks go by. There is simply no outlet for the endeavours of Ireland, Johnson and Etuhu. Vassell looks like a man whose confidence is completely shot.
    • 46' Off again. No substitutions at half time
    • 45' GOAL!!!!! TOTTENHAM 1-0 MAN CITY. Berbatov cons defensive tyro Gelson into conceding a free-kick on the edge of the box. Jenas drills it in low from the left, Berbatov flicks it goalwards and Pascal Chimbonda, who was standing a yard and a half offside in front of Isaakson to block his view, handballs it into the net with his right forearm. None of the officials spot either infringement and the City players troop off at the break incredulously.
    • 43' As the rain settles in for the afternoon the pitch is getting slippery and passes are starting to go astray. City have been saved by this on more than one occasion in the last few minutes.
    • 39' Yet ANOTHER corner wasted by City - nobody gets close to connecting. They really need to work on this on the training ground.
    • 35' The game has opened up a lot more but whereas you can pretty much predict that most of City's attacks will fizzle out at the moment - Spurs bu comparison always look dangerous in the attack. Micah Richards, after an unbelievable 12 months, is suffering something of a crisis of confidence of late and it shows no signs of having eased today. Berbatov is turning him inside out.
    • 26' Ireland wins a corner for City and takes it himself but his excellent delivery is wasted as no City player can be bothered to jump for the header. Four purple shirted figures in the box simply interestedly watch it fizz over their heads and out for a throw on the other side. Moments later Ireland feeds Johnson - but a heavy touch enables Robinson to smother gratefully. Spurs were a little lucky there...
    • 21' City are enjoying more possession now. They win a free-kick on the edge of the Spurs box but Petrov blasts into the wall. England Under-21 international Michael Johnson, on his return from injury, is slowly starting to exert a little influence on the game, with a series of astute passes.
    • 16' Javier Garrido goes in the book for cynically leaving a foot dangling after being mugged by Lennon on the right. Spurs immediately break but Bent fires wide when he should have crossed. City are showing little appetite for this game so far.
    • 9' Malbranque pops up in the box but his shot from six yards is bundled wide by Dunne. Nothing comes from the corner.
    • 7' Close call for City as Spurs carve open the Blues' defence with alarming ease. Bent is sent through by Berbatov but Isaakson is quickly off his line to smother an attempted dink.
    • 4' After City win - and waste - a corner in the first minute both teams settle down and it is a fairly cautious opening from both teams. Dunne and Richards are paying close attention to Berbatov
    • 1' We're under way...
    • 0' Hello and welcome to this Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham and Man City. Spurs have improved up front since Juande Ramos took charge but they are still as frail defensively. City come into the match with a poor away record - they have won just on away game all season, against West Ham on the opening day of the season. Let's hope it's a free-scoring game.
