    • 90+4 Manucho wins a corner on the left and up comes Myhill... He wants the bench to tell him if he should come forward for it but they say no and he has his head in his hands he's so upset! The corner is swung in, Friedel can't get a punch and hammered in by Boateng but deflected wide for a corner!!

    • 72' Shorey finds Barry overlapping on the left but he slips under a non-challenge from Boateng and it's a goal kick.

    • 68' Hull have a free-kick which Cousin is over and they totally mess it up, Cousin played it short but Barmby wasn't ready and Villa can break but luckily for Hull it's a foul on Cousin and Hull get another chance from the same distance.

    • 41' Hull clear the corner at the second time of asking but there's no-one positioned to launch a counter. Then Petrov pulls back Garcia, who brings him down, and Hull get the free-kick for the original offence, 35 yards from the Villa goal...

Hull are convinced it was offside and that was close - he was level at best with Turner but part of his body seemed ahead of the Hull centre half. A controversial opener!
    • 33' Ricketts on the right swings over a dangerous cross which Davies arches to clear and Villa get it away. They break and have men over here...
    • 32' ... Villa break from that but a poor ball by Petrov sees them lose momentum.
    • 31' The throw comes in from Garcia, Villa don't deal with it and the ball drops to GEOVANNI WHO CAN FINISH but he totally mis-hits the ball and it skews away at 180 degrees.
    • 30' Cousin goes in late on Davies, who is really angry but the ref gives a throw as Cousin did not make contact.
    • 28' Agbonlahor gets in behind Ricketts after a flick from Milner and he's clean through but the flag is up! He was on-side, level with the last man. A lucky escape for Hull!
    • 26' Petrov flies into the advertising hoardings, tumbles over head-first into the crowd, that looked really bad but he bounces straight back up to the applause if the fans.
    • 25' Milner swings it over the wall but tipped away for a corner by Myhill. Decent effort but you'd expect him to make that save.
    • 24' Four players over the ball, Ashley Young, Barry, Milner and Petrov... it's going to be a shot for sure...
    • 23' Turner gives away a free-kick with a foul just outside his own area, dangerous position.
    • 21' Petrov clears for Villa and Carew races on to the ball with Hull's defence stranded but Myhill gets there first to hoof it out for a throw.
    • 20' A whopping 60 per cent possession so far for Villa.
    • 19' Ball on for Carew flicks off him and Agbonlahor is free on the edge of the box but Turner holds him off and draws the foul.
    • 15' Barry with a decent cross that takes a big touch off Ricketts but Zayatte again is behind Carew to hook it clear. He's repelled pretty much every Villa attack so far.
    • 13' Ricketts pops up on the right but his touch lets him down and Shorey can clear.
    • 12' Hull with a bit of pressure on the Villa box but the whistle goes for a push in the melee.

    • 9' Young gets in down the left and crosses for Carew but acrobatically cleared by Zayatte. Ashbee is struggling actually, he won't last another play.

    • 7' Ashbee is still receiving treatment but gets to his feet aided... Looks like a heavy bruise on his left knee.
    • 5' CRUNCH! Ashbee and Milner fly in fair but hard for a 50-50 ball and, after trying to get up, both are in trouble! Milner less so, he got a boot in the groin area but that's no more than a flesh wound. Ashbee is in tears though, this doesn't look good, I think he twisted his knee.
    • 4' Villa have a free-kick on the left which Milner will swing in right-footed... It's a testing delivery towards the penalty spot and Myhill flies out into a crowd of bodies, mis-cues the punch and collides with a team-mate but Hull survive, hacked clear!

Still with Villa, Luke Young on the right plays it to Barry who slides him through with a super backheel and Young is in but the cross is blocked by Zayatee, corner. Good start at Villa Park.
    • 2' Early pressure for Hull sees them get a throw on the left... Villa fail to clear it and the ball drops to ASHBEE WITH THE HALF-VOLLEY BUT JUST WIDE! Great effort from the Tigers skipper.

    • - These are sides in dreadful form: Villa have not won in nine while Hull have not won since beating Fulham 1-0 six games ago. For Villa it means their Champions League assault is over, but for Hull it could be a drop to the Championship at stake!
    • - HULL TEAM NEWS: Jimmy Bullard and Antony Gardner are still absent for the Tigers, who are only three points and one place above the drop zone after the bottom fell out of their season.
    • - ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS: Gabriel Agbonlahor returns to the starting line-up with Villa as full-strength as they can be without key defender Martin Laursen, who sadly is expected to retire due to injury.
