    • 90' Howard Webb blows the final whistle. A point for either side. Neither of them deserved more.
    • 90' Bolton's 10th corner of the game goes straight out for a goal kick, a fitting end-note for a match that sparked into life in the final third, but was marred throughout by a dismal lack of quality.
    • 87' McCarthy goes close for the visitors, his flicked header from Simpson's cross going narrowly wide.
    • 86' Emerton, who has been pretty influential from a wide position, crosses to McCarthy, whose header back across goal doesn't quite reach incoming Derbyshire. In the course of the attack, Samba collides with a post and requires treatment.
    • 83' Gary Megson makes his final change, bringing on Riga for Taylor.
    • 80' Blackburn earn a corner. McCarthy does his utmost to meet Emerton's cross, but ends up in heap on the ground. Nothing given.
    • 78 A substitution for either side. Joey O'Brien replaces Steinsson for Bolton. Paul Ince responds by putting Jason Roberts out of his misery, the thinking presumably being that Benni McCarthy might just have the necessary composure to jag a result for visitors. Roberts most certainly does not.
    • 74' Samba gifts Bolton another corner, which looks an instant replay of all of Matty Taylor's previous efforts. Another corner ensues, but again Paul Robinson's goal is not breached.
    • 71' The game is much livelier in the second half, and could become more so after Robbie Fowler is deservedly substituted. The veteran had shown nothing all game. Andrews is his replacement.
    • 68' Yet another Taylor corner for Bolton. But Blackburn know what's coming now, and are able to clear their lines. Gary Megson makes his first change, bringing on Ricardo Gardner for Muamba. With quick feet and good vision, Gardner makes an immediate impact, but the chance is wasted.
    • 65' Tugay becomes the second player to be booked for handball.
    • 63' It looks increasingly like this game's got a goal in it. With the removal of Villanueva, the midfield is less congested and it's end-to-end stuff.
    • 60' Villanueva is substituted, earning a standing ovation from some charitable away fans. He's replaced by Matt Derbyshire. Meanwhile, Bolton earn another corner. Taylor's delivery is similarly good, but the result is the same.
    • 59' Another couple of Matty Taylor corners from the left-hand side for Bolton, who are enjoying their best spell. Both are swung viciously into the six-yard box, but Blackburn's clean sheet is intact.
    • 57' Corner to Bolton. McCann delivers the ball into the six-yard box, where Nelsen puts it behind for another corner. From that setpiece - taken by Taylor - Andy O'Brien can only manage a flick-on, when firmer contact would surely have made it 1-0.
    • 55' Villanueva is booked for an unnecessary foul in the Bolton half.
    • 51' After being overrun by Kevin Nolan, Danny Simpson earns the second yellow card of game for handball.
    • 49' Wretched skills from Roberts, whose first touch takes him from clean through to somewhere near the corner flag. It can only be hoped he takes Chris Iwelumo's philosophical attitude to incompetence. The move finally breaks down when a Villanueva - on a late arrive into the box - trips over his own feet.
    • 47' Now it's Nolan's turn to shoot from outside the area. With his right foot, he manages to keep the ball down, but it's just as wide as Elmander's earlier effort.
    • 46' After sharing a joke with Howard Webb, Nolan and Elmander get the second half underway. Almost immediately, Elmander fires very high and very wide from 30 yards out.
    • 45' Howard Webb blows his whistle for the end of the first half. The game has lived up to its most pessimistic billing, with the biggest surprise being a relative lack of bad tackles. It promises to be a long, dark half-time of the soul for Jason Roberts, who really should have put the visitors ahead by now.
    • 44' Bolton end the half in traditional style, pumping high balls towards the opposition goal. A chronic lack of guile once the ball is on the ground ensures that Blackburn are never really threatened.
    • 43' As half-time approaches, Jason Roberts spurns the best chance of the game so far, and looks suitably pained. Roque Santa Cruz would not have headed wide from six yards out. Emerton is again the creator, delivering a fine cross from the right-hand side.
    • 40' Bolton look vaguely threatening, a Kevin Nolan cross from the left that flashes across Rovers' six-yard box forces a corner. A foul on Paul Robinson ends this promising spell.
    • 37' Carlos Villanueva clips the top of the Bolton crossbar with a left-foot shot from just outside the area. Brett Emerton's good work set up the opportunity.
    • 33' Steinsson earns the game's first yellow card for a foul on Villanueva. From just inside the right-hand corner of the area, Brett Emerton blazes high and wide.
    • 32' An unnecessary hack by Taylor gives Rovers a free kick in a threatening positioning on their right-hand side. Villanueva can't beat the first defender. A corner is the result. Blackburn are repelled, but force another corner. But that too poses few problems for the Bolton defence.
    • 27' A Bolton fanatic pounds his drum in the stands, but Elmander misses a beat when through on goal, allowing himself to be tackled at the last by Simpson. On the Trotters' next attack, the big Swede is caught offside.
    • 25' On the right-hand side for Bolton, Steinsson's best Rory Delap impression comes to naught.
    • 22' Blackburn's Villanueva has a couple of goes at corner-taking. Bolton's defence stands firm. The game's crying out for someone like Muamba or Tugay to put their foot on the ball.
    • 20' Free kicks for Bolton on the left-hand are Jlloyd Samuel's domain, but his delivery is not up to much either. Seconds later, Taylor produces an air shot when clean through in the left-hand corner of the Blackburn penalty area.
    • 18' Matty Taylor delivers another free kick into the Blackburn box. It's from a deeper position, but no-one can get a touch on it until Robinson is forced to tip it around his right-hand post for a corner. Nothing comes of the subsequent set-piece.
    • 14' More of the same, I'm afraid. Elmander takes the opportunity to register Bolton's first offside of the match.
    • 10' Jason Roberts, leading Blackburn's line in the absence of Roque Santa Cruz, is caught offside twice. The game is about ready for its first clear-cut chance.
    • 8' Andre Ooijer becomes the third player to pass the ball straight out of play. From the resulting throw-in, Bolton earn a free kick in a dangerous position on the right flank, but Taylor delivers the ball straight into Robinson's arms.
    • 5' Both sides showing lots of energy, but rather less class. No chances to report, just lots of activity in midfield.
    • 3' A scrappy period of play encourages the cameraman to focus on Paul Ince looking pensive in the away dugout. Howard Webb irritates the home side by failing to award them a second corner.
    • 1' The match kicks off. Bolton go on the attack first, earning the game's first corner. It's swung in towards the back post, but nothing comes of it.
