    • 84' Great defending from Habib Beye, who gets across to deny Anelka a free header at goal inside the six-yard box. Guthrie then sends Deco into orbit with an aggressive challenge.
    • 82' Michael Ballack enters the fray at the expense of Joe Cole. There is still time for Chelsea.
    • 78' Another change from Joe Kinnear. Charles N'Zogbia replaces Jonas Gutierrez.
    • 77' Ashley Cole gets to the byline, but his cross fails to find a blue shirt. Chelsea just cannot find the final ball.
