    • 90+2' The final whistle is blown, and Chelsea have certainly put the ghost of last week's home defeat to Liverpool to rest, with eight goals in their last two games. Sunderland can take almost no positives from this game, and must accept they simply came up against an awe-inspiring side.
    • 88' This is nothing more than a warm-down for both sides now. Teemu Tainio continues to charge around like a madman, but the palyers may as well start doing their post-match stretches!
    • 84' Drogba is chased by Ferdinand down the right, and the Ivorian flicks the ball behind him and tries to go round the Sunderland defender. Ferdinand has the turn of pace to get in Drogba's way, and the chelsea man bundles him to the ground and concedes the free-kick, much to his annoyance!
    • 80' The fans are singing in full voice as Chelsea continue to tease Sunderland, with everyred and white shirt chasing shadows. However. Cisse gets it now and will STRIKE... fired wide of the right-hand post. that's about as close as they've got today.
    • 75' Anelka gets a standing ovation as he comes off for Brazilian utility man Mineiro, making his Chelsea debut.
    • 74' Bosingwa steps inside, sending McCartney the wrong way, and tries a SHOT... The strike is well off target and swerves out towards the corner flag!
    • 69' Anleka slips a ball out to Bosingwa who crosses in, but the offisde flag is up long before Malouda pops it in the net at the far post.

    • 45' Masterful play by Chelsea as this half draws to a close. sunderland have barely had a touch in the last minute, as the Blues knock the ball around the entire team.
    • 42' There's a touch of the playground about this last couple of minutes, as the ball is pinging around the midfield as nobody can get their foot on the ball properly.

    • 25' Sunderland's midfielders are diving and sliding all over the place as they attempt to repel the constant waves of blue surging forward. Chelsea are remaining patient in their play though.
    • 22' Tainio shoulder barges Lampard and concedes the free-kick but escapes a booking. Quite right too. Anyway, he's bound to pick one up later on.
    • 16' Joe Cole is tackled as he runs towards the box but Deco picks the ball up, rolls it under his foot and SHOOTS... OFF THE BAR! Wonderful play from Deco!
    • 14' Lampard blasts the free-kick against the foot of the wall. Mikel blazes the follow-up into the crowd. It's worth noting that it is absolutely chucking it down in west London at the moment.
    • 13' A Chelsea pass forward looks bound for Ferdinand but Anelka's pace gets him there and draws the foul. The free-kick is in a shooting position...
    • 10' Malouda's diagonal ball is chested down by Anelka in the box. The ball breaks loose and Ashley Cole is there... The ball rebounded off of Cole's shin and ran away from him, just as he was on the edge of the six-yard box.
    • 9' Unsurprisingly it's been all Chelsea thus far. Sunderland have barely got out of their half.
    • 6' Lampard is fouled by Tainio in midfield. That probably won't be the last time the Finnish hardman clashes with Super Frank today.
    • 5' Kenwyne Jones hounds down Petr Cech, who has the baal at his feet outside the area. The big Czech keeper seels Jones a dummy and goes past him, much to the joy of the Stamford Bridge crowd!
    • 4' Deco slides forward a pass that Malouda controls on the turn and SHOOTS... Wide of the far post. Fulop looked as though he would have got there had it been on target.
    • 2' Deco wins a corner. The Portuguese takes it himself and it's flicked to the far post for ANELKA... The Frenchman just can't work the space to fire a shot in at the far post.

    • 14:59 Sunderland meanhwile start with a new front two, with the newly-fit Kenwyne Jones starting alongside Martin Waghorn. Yes, Martin Waghorn.
    • 14:58 Chelsea can regain top spot in the league if they win here - until this evening at least - by virtue of their vastly superior goal difference over Liverpool. Luiz Felipe Scolari fields the same XI that lost to the Anfield side last week - ending their four-year unbeaten home run - and then beat Hull on Wednesday,.except Alex, who comes in for the injured Carvalho.
