    • 90'+3 THAT'S IT! The final whistle goes, and that's a stunning victory for Liverpool that lifts them - temporarily at least - to the top of the Premier League table. The scoreline didn't flatter them: this was a brilliant performance from the home side. Thanks for joining us and stay right here for the rest of the day's sporting action.
    • 90'+1 Carragher's ball in for Lucas there was lovely, but he was under no defensive pressure at all.
    • 90' THE REDS SCORE AGAIN! A long ball in from the touchline finds Lucas at the far post who heads back across goal - and N'Gog is there to head in from all of two yards! It's officially an utter thrashing!!
    • 88' A whisker away from a fourth as El Zhar's lovely ball from the right skipped across goal but just evaded N'Gog.
    • 87' Alonso comes off and Leiva comes in to be the final sub of the match.
    • 86' Liverpool have now clocked up 21 attempts on goal so far. It's been an awesome display of attacking football.
    • 84' Kuyt comes off for Ngog as the home fans celebrate the third goal that they more than deserved.
    • 83' Dan Agger picks the ball up 35 yards out in plenty of space... AND FROM NOTHING RIPS IT INTO THE TOP CORNER!!!! Stunning strike, and Robinson had no chance.
    • 82' Liverpool keep pushing, but Blackburn's melee of bodies in the box make it hard for them to find space to shoot. Kuyt picks the ball up by the penalty spot but literally doesn't even have space to turn.
    • 80' ANOTHER chance goes begging for Liverpool, El Zhar looking likely to score as he dribbles through in to the box... but he trips over his feet, leaving Mascherano to come in and shoot. But it deflects off Robinson!
    • 79' Mascherano takes in inadvertent kick in the ribs, and comes off for treatment; he's winded rather than hurt though.
    • 78' Blackburn keep trying gamely, but they're not going to get back in to this now you feel.
    • 76' Alonso is booked for a clumsy challenge.
    • 74' Torres comes of - El Zhar replaces him - but looks furious. He was really in the mood for a hat-trick, and has obviously forgotten all about the injuries which have dogged much of his season...
    • 72' Liverpool charge up the other end on the break and Torres's deflected effort crosses inches in front of goal, but Kuyt can't get to it!
    • 72' Best chance of the match for Blackburn sees Samba head into Reina's hands...
    • 71' Benitez will be starting to worry slightly: for all the dominance his side have shown they've demonstrated little cutting edge in this second half.
    • 70' A free kick on the right edge of the pitch for Liverpool offers another attacking chance, but it's hit long - another wasted effort.
    • 68' Lovely run from Kuyt gets him up in to the box, but he's closed down quickly just when it looks dangerous.
    • 66' Last throw of the subs dice for Rovers: Tugay off, Grella on.
    • 65' Blackburn again try and get something going, but Liverpool simply hang on to the ball and pull back before pushing forward again. You'd think they were 2-0 down in a cup game the way they keep searching for goals!
    • 63' Lovely run from Riera: he cuts in to the box and has two men in support on the six-yard box, but shoots wide into the side netting. Wasted chance there...
    • 62' Blackburn are desperately trying to make something happen, putting in plenty of miles but they're unfortunately just under-skilled in this company.
    • 60' Long ball through for Torres looks dangerous, but the timing of the ball's bounce is just too much for him.
    • 59' Another change for Blackburn, with Dunn replaced by Villanueva.
    • 58' Yet another fluid move by the hosts, but they've got so many players in such good positions that Insua seems confused about who to play the ball to. In his indecision he gets tackled!
    • 57' Dirk Kuyt finds himself in a bit of space, and with nothing on decides to pop one in from 30 yards - not a bad strike, but it lifts up over the bar.
    • 56' Corner is cleared by the head of Givet, but Blackburn are again on the back foot.
    • 55' The far-fetched long ball strategy by the visitors doesn't work out, and Liverpool get back in to their attacking waves once again. Corner.
    • 54' Blackburn throw everyone forward as they win a free kick just inside their own half.
    • 52' Another surge forward by the Reds, and Riera has a crack from 35 yards. You know a side's in control when everyone is trying to get in on the scoring act...
    • 50' The corner is cleared well, but Liverpool come again and Kuyt hits a drive that's deflected agonisingly close to the outstetched boot of Torres.
    • 49' Nice attacking build-up from Liverpool sees the ball go out to Riera on the left, and the hosts win a corner.
    • 48' Liverpool now come back up the pitch, but a ball through to Torres runs too far and gives Robinson an easy take.
    • 47' Blackburn have the first attacking move of the chance, putting in a long free kick from ten yards inside the Liverpool half. It's over-hit and runs off harmlessly.
    • 46' The second half begins with Blackburn bringing on teenager Aaron Doran in place of Mokoena. An act of desperation from Allardyce or a chance to blood a young player in a big match that's beyond saving? Perhaps a bit of both...
    • 45'+2 The whistle blows for the end of the half. Liverpool have been superb, and should be three or four up rather than just the two. Blackburn's generally decent defence can take credit for the fact that this isn't a rout already.
    • 45'+1 Liverpool push up one more time to see if they can grab a 3-0 lead at the half-way stage, but Blackburn clear the ball back up field.
    • 45'+1 Two extra minutes to play...
    • 45' The visitors win a corner as Arbeloa tackles... David Dunn takes but it's cleared straight away.
    • 44' Liverpool have clocked up two-thirds of the possession in the match so far, but it actually feels like even more than that.
    • 42' The heat has come off from beneath the pan now as both sides look relatively happy to let the game drift towards the break.
    • 40' It's hard to see what Sam Allardyce can really say to his men at half-time. Yes, there have been occasional gaps in the defence, but they've been created by Liverpool's passing and movement rather than through sloppy defending.
    • 38' Another golden chance for Liverpool as Riera and Torres close in on goal, but once again Blackburn's defence do just enough to get in the way of their hosts.
    • 37' Riera puts a ball in from the left which finds Kuyt in front of goal, but his header is straight at Robinson.
    • 36' Yet another half-chance for Liverpool as Carragher plays Torres through with a long ball, but the striker is just off-side.
    • 35' It's a dream start to the match for Liverpool today despite the missed chances - and the stats tell the story: they've clocked up 10 shots on goal already, compared to none for Blackburn!
    • 34' The free kick from that challenge is curled in - AND TORRES GETS ON THE END OF IT TO HEAD IN ANOTHER GOAL! IT'S 2-0!!!
    • 33' Keith Andrews takes out Riera with a flying challenge that's nowhere near the ball. Ref not impressed.
    • 31' Another Liverpool attack gives Mascherano the chance to try a pot-shot, but it's straight at Robinson who holds the ball well.
    • 30' A half-chance for Blackburn as Samba gets in the box to challenge Reina for a high bouncing ball left by the defence. The Liverpool keeper stays firm, but that could have gone wrong for the home side.
    • 29' Blackburn should have been buried by now, it's hard to believe that two such golden chances went begging...
    • 27' Insua puts in an amazing ball from the left on the break, finding Dirk Kuyt unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box... HE MUST SCORE - BUT NO! The free header is too close to Robinson, who manages to paw it away. Torres has a chance at the rebound but volleys over.
    • 27' The match gets back under way after the treatment miraculously restores Nelsen to health...
    • 25' Robinson clashes in mid-air with his captain, Ryan Nelsen, and the Blackburn skipper stays down after the keeper lands on top of him.
    • 24' Torres puts a long ball through for Riera to chase, but it's kicked just a little too hard and Robinson collects easily.
    • 23' The ball is crossed in to the far post where Agger gets his head on to it - but it's straight at the well-placed Robinson.
    • 23' Another free kick for Liverpool, 35 yards out...
    • 22' The home side are running their guests ragged now, swarming all over them like ants on a honey jar.
    • 21' Alonso fires it in towards Riera, but the Spanish midfielder inadvertently handles while trying to chest it across to Kuyt.
    • 20' The Reds earn a free kick, just outside the left side of the box...
    • 18' The game settles back in to its previous pattern: Liverpool probing, Blackburn doing their best to keep out of trouble.
    • 16' How Liverpool didn't score there is incredible. Robinson was well-placed to block Mascherano's shot, but is was almost one of those that seemed such a clear goal that he took it a bit casually. Full marks for staying on his feet, though: he could have easily gone down under the challenge for the red card and penalty.
    • 15' Blackburn's free kick from the half-way is cleared brilliantly to release Kuyt, who puts Mascherano in clear on goal. Mascherano is tackled badly, stays on his feet to be clear through on Robinson... but the shot is saved, and Torres puts the follow-up over the bar!
    • 14' A gap opens up for Torres, just outside the left half of the box - but it's on his weaker left foot and skipping past the post.
    • 13' For all Blackburn's neat efficiency in defence it's still all Liverpool, passing beautifully looking for the space.
    • 12' Corner for the home side, but Blackburn are well-organised and clear the danger well. Other than the goal - which was sheer genius by Torres - they have looked very solid so far.
    • 11' Liverpool are in control and probing for gaps all the time.
    • 9' Benayoun gets the ball just outside the box and puts in a pass for Torres, who's hovering on the penalty spot - but the ball is cut out and cleeared just before it reaches the striker.
    • 8' ...the corner is cleared with no danger at all, and Liverpool re-take control.
    • 7' Blackburn win a corner from the free kick...
    • 6' The crowd are in full voice at the re-start, but Dan Agger cynically barges Treacy to earn a booking and gift a free kick to Rovers.
    • 5' Torres gets a long pass from Carragher - the Spaniard controls on his chest, spins... AND SCORES!!!! What a fantastic turn and strike, giving Robinson no chance!
    • 4' The danger is cleared by Blackburn, who hit on the break but are cut off by Pepe Reina running some 40 yards out of goal to tackle Keith Treacy.
    • 3' Arbeloa wins a corner down on the right flank after forcing the tackle - Alonso to take it...
    • 2' No chances so far as both sides knock the ball around pretty cleanly.
    • 1' Blackburn kick off to get the match under way in brilliant Merseyside sunshine.
    • - A minute's silence is now held for the 96 victims of the Hillsborough tragedy...
    • - Former Liverpool man Steven Warnock brings a wreath over to the Kop on behalf of the Blackburn side and supporters, a gesture much appreciated by the home supporters.
    • - 'You'll never walk alone' rings out from the Anfield tannoys as the crowd marks the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster in which 96 people died.
    • - If you're thinking that Blackburn's line-up looks a little odd, you'd be right: they've re-shuffled defence and midfield a bit to employ big defender Christopher Samba as a lone striker. Bonkers!
    • - Now Blackburn: Robinson, Andrews, Ooijer, Nelsen, Givet, Mokoena, Dunn, Tugay Kerimoglu, Warnock, Treacy, Samba.
    • - Here are the full teams for you. First up is Liverpool: Reina, Arbeloa, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Benayoun, Mascherano, Alonso, Riera, Torres, Kuyt. Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Gerrard, Lucas, Ngog, El Zhar, Skrtel.
    • - The big news of the day is that Steven Gerrard is on the bench for Liverpool. So is he injured or not? We'll see if Liverpool struggle to pick up the points...
