    • 90+6' Riley blows up as Liverpool go through on goal again. It doesn't matter - they are the ones who close the gap on leaders Manchester United.
    • 90+5' Liverpool change: Torres leaves to a standing ovation, replaced by David N'Gog.
    • 90+4' TORRES SCORES A SECOND!! He passes into the open goal after Benayoun skipped away from Cole - who had controlled poorly to gift the chance to the Reds.
    • 90+1' Anfield jumping after that goal. It is a massive one for the football club if they are to challenge for the title.
    • 89' GOAL FOR LIVERPOOL!! TORRES WITH THE HEADER!! Gerrard exchanged passes with Kuyt and fed Aurelio on the left; his ball was superb to the near post, where the striker headed past Cech brilliantly. It is his first goal at Anfield this season. So much for a goalless draw!!
    • 88' This match is heading for a goalless draw. Beforehand you said to your mates it would end all-square, but when the whistle went to start it off you wanted it to be more interesting than that; unfortunately it seems not to be.
    • 85' Chelsea change: Miroslav Stoch on for Kalou.
    • 83' 'Pool sub: Ryan Babel on for Mascherano. An attacking move from Rafa for once...
    • 83' Israeli Benayoun watches the ball drop and unleashes a dipping volley just over the bar. He is a man in form.
    • 81' Cole with a great challenge to dispossess Kuyt as Liverpool attacked space on the right. It has not been pretty from Chelsea, but they have fought for a draw.
    • 80' Benayoun comes inside and strikes towards the far corner, parried away by Cech - who has been infinitely busier than Reina.
    • 78' Torres flies through the air as a cross comes in, but he cannot get anything on the ball. Strange acrobatic effort.
    • 75' Chelsea actually looking to attack here; Deco threads it through for Kalou, who manages to get a shot away. Pepe Reina makes a save, perhaps his first of the day.
    • 74' Liverpool change: Riera replaced by Yossi Benayoun.
    • 72' Torres finds space in a congested penalty area to hook a shot at goal, deflected just wide of the far post. Another corner to the home team.
    • 70' Gerrard booked for diving on the edge of the box as he sought to get on the end of a one-two. Good decision by Riley.
    • 69' Chelsea changes: here come Drogba and Deco - the ineffectual Florent Malouda and Anelka making way.
    • 66' Alonso winds up and his shot deflects Paul Parker-style off Alex and down... on to the bar!! It is coming back down again when Cech leaps to knock it behind. So close to the opening goal.
    • 65' Gerrard hits a free-kick into the Chelsea wall as pressure mounts on the away side.
    • 64' Lampard is angry with the red card, as you might expect. He says he got something on the ball and was not trying to hurt Alonso. He's got a point, although it was a beefy tackle. Had he been booked, it would have been more understandable.
    • 61' Chelsea captain Terry is furious with the decision and booked for his complaints.
    • 60' FRANK LAMPARD SENT OFF!! The ball dropped in no-man's land in the centre circle and Alonso and Lampard both went for it; the England international's studs were up as he slid - but Alonso was looking for a piece of his opponent also.
    • 60' Chelsea need to bring on the Drog is they are to go for a win. Liverpool should also commit more men forward.
    • 58' Gerrard with a ferocious - some would say dirty - tackle on Mikel. He gobs at Riley, who started all this 'respect' stuff off remember when Ash Cole turned his back on him... the England star lucky not to be booked for that.
    • 56' Alvaro Arbeloa attacks the by-line and cuts back to Kuyt, who is felled by Terry... the ball drops back to the Spaniard, whose shot to the near post is saved low by Cech. It was a hefty challenge by the England captain - he may have got a little piece of the ball...
    • 54' Torres strikes from outside the box, Cech wrongfooted... the ball deflects off Alex and to safety. A worrying moment for Scolari.
    • 53' Mikel scythes down Aurelio as he seeks to speed down the wing. Booking for the Nigerian.
    • 52' Gerrard bends in a corner and Alex throws himself to the ground in a strange attempt to head away when it would have been easier to kick clear; Kuyt's shot is wide of the far post.
    • 49' There are still some snowflakes drifting around Anfield, but nothing like the flurry we saw at kick-off. There are plenty of nervous faces around the ground - the Reds cannot afford to give up too much more ground on Man Utd given the form of their hated rivals.
    • 46' Kalou is hurt and receives treatment in the centre of the park.
    • 46' Alonso booked half a minute in after he went in on Salomon Kalou with his studs up.
    • 46' The second half begins, Liverpool now kicking from left to right.
    • 45+2' Chelsea with a late flurry but nothing doing - the half-time whistle sounds at Anfield as Keane looks on from the stands and the Drog from the Chelsea bench.
    • 45' Anelka has not had much to work with today - Didier Drogba is on the bench and how the Frenchman would like the big man on the pitch to work alongside him...
    • 44' Mikel, enjoying a run of 21 starts in the Chelsea team, not happy about a Torres nudge after the Ivorian got to the ball first; Riley has a word with him.
    • 42' Riera with an incisive run from the left and low shot, palmed out by Cech - Cole just misses the target with his unorthodox clearance!! He is a fortunate man.
    • 41' A good passing move from Liverpool ends with Aurelio on the left. His low ball into the box is cleared and Torres has another bite when the ball comes back in, to no avail.
    • 39' Anelka with a leap over a Reds defender to try and win the ball - 10 out of 10 for enthusiasm - then he sees a turn and volley deflected away by Martin Skrtel. Promising from Chelsea.
    • 37' Chelsea backing off, Luiz Felipe Scolari's men content to wait for the chance to break.
    • 35' The crowd quietens 10 minutes from the break. There is trepidation at Anfield after three consecutive draws, two of them here.
    • 31' Fabio Aurelio plays the ball into Riera, but his control lets him down. Jamie Carragher then with a pair of crosses, the second of which Torres almost strikes into the near post; great block by Alex.
    • 29' Alonso with a brilliant backheel back over his head, applauded by the fans. That's one for the Showboat.
    • 28' Nicolas Anelka almost sends Cole clear on the counter. Chelsea on the back foot for most of this match so far, though.
    • 26' Alonso takes a quick free-kick in the centre of the pitch to the feet of Gerrard, who spins and feeds Fernando Torres. The Spain star runs across the box and tries to play the attacking midfielder back in, but Cole does well to get something on it and Cech is out to clear the danger.
    • 22' Mike Riley dips into his pocket for another card after Cole obstructed Kuyt following a clever dummy by the Dutchman.
    • 20' Monster Masch booked as he catches Jon Obi Mikel, a little harsh.
    • 20' Javier Mascherano shoots low from 25 yards, parried by Cech as he struggles to hold it... there is panic for a moment but he tells Alex and Terry that there is no one looking for the rebound and collects. What price that Keane would have been lurking around that area...
    • 19' Bosingwa crosses into the danger area but there is no support arriving for Chelsea and the chance is wasted.
    • 16' Kuyt wastes a pass as he strikes it into touch after Michael Ballack lost the ball for Chelsea.
    • 14' The pace has dropped off slightly, but it could spark at any time. Dirk Kuyt charges down a Terry clearance and races on to it, but the away defence recovers.
    • 11' Xabi Alonso with space to shoot; he bangs it towards the top corner AND PETR CECH TIPS OVER!! Great save by the Czech shot-stopper.
    • 10' The snow abating slightly. Both teams have played 23 matches this season and have 48 points; they stand five points behind Manchester United having played the same number of games.
    • 8' Liverpool with most of the ball in the early stages, but the Blues are dealing with their attacks well.
    • 6' Gerrard catches John Terry in the head with his boot. Foul to Chelsea.
    • 4' Jose Bosingwa goes down under a challenge from Albert Riera and Steven Gerrard follows up by striking the ball against the right-back - he gets away with it.
    • 3' The snow is flying on Merseyside and there is a real cup tie atmosphere out there. The players are fully committed already, with several free-kicks awarded for both teams.
    • 1' The match is underway: Liverpool kicking from right to left in all red, Chelsea in blue and white as always.
    • - Robbie Keane has been left out of the squad by Rafa Benitez - perhaps he'll be on his way to Tottenham...
