    • 90' City break quickly as Robinho threads the ball through for Caicedo who is in the clear...but a bad touch allows Taylor to recover and Newcastle can regroup.
    • 89' City respond with a substitution of their own. Wright Phillips is withdrawn and Caicedo will get a run around for the final minutes.
    • 88' Newcastle are pressing for a late equaliser and bring on Lua Lua in place of Geremi.
    • 86' Now Wright Phillips is down injured after a late challenge from Coloccini. The Argentine just caught the winger after he unleashed a shot at goal, which was deflected behind for a corner.

    • 72' Newcastle are cursed. Their injury worries continue as Sebastien Bassong hobbles off. I think Wright Phillps fell on him during that penalty incident.
    • 70' Wright Phillips jinks past a couple of players on ther right and makes his way into the area...he goes to ground under a clumsy challenge from Geremi. No Penalty!
    • 66' Chance for Newcastle! Great work by Duff from who makes good progress down the left before sliding a ball tantilisingly across goal. Wayne Bridge does well to hack it away from goal and clear the danger.
    • 63' Guttierez is booked after an aerial collision with Wright Phillps. The players surround the ref and the crowd anticipates a red card...but it is only a yellow and on reflection even that seems a little harsh.
    • 61' Joey Barton is limping after a challenge with Craig Bellamy. Barton hobbles off to be replaced by Peter Lovenkrands.
    • 59' Great football from City. Ireland recieves the ball in the box and tries to backheel a return ball for Wright Phillips but Jose Enrique is on hand to thwart the danger.
    • 57' Damien Duff does well to get his cross in on the right-hand side, Steven Taylor, forward from the back, leaps highest, but seems to be impeded as he does so. Taylor crumples to the floor and their are appeals for a penalty all round. Mike Jones said no, looked close that one.
    • 54' Robinho collects the ball on the left, teasingly dribbles towards Coloccini before shooting for the near post. The ball comes off the defender and goes behind for a corner...but Mike Jones gives a goal-kick. Sorry Mike, that was a corner.
    • 50' Craig Bellamy charges down the right with Jose Enrique hot on his tail. Bellamy, thinking the Spaniard is too close for comfort, gives up on the ball and starts complaining to anyone who will listen. No foul. Settle down Craig.
    • 47' Steven Taylor is cautioned for a foul on the edge of the area. He protests his innocence, but Mike Jones is having none of it.
    • 46' The second-half kicks off.
    • 45 Mike Jones blows his whistle for half-time and the players head for the tunnel. What will Joe Kinnear have to say to his men at half-time I wonder!
    • 43' Shaun Wright Phillips brings down Jose Enrique and gets a yellow card for his troubles, he may be a winger, but that was a real strikers challenge.
    • 41' Newcastle with a free-kick. Jose Enrique knocks it towards the danger area, but it goes nowhere near the danger area and all the way through to Joe Hart. Newcastle have not been good enough so far.
    • 38' Robinho shows his Brazilian side, flicking the ball effortlessly around in midfield before elegantly touching the ball back with his heel to Zabaleta.
    • 35' Manchester City seem fairly content to just knock the ball around and hold on to possession. Ireland and Wright Phillips are running the show, with Robinho making the odd star guest appearance.
    • 30' Craig Bellamy is bundled to the floor in the penalty area. He turns to look at the referee and bangs his fist in the floor in frustration. Not sure what he's complaining about, there was pretty minimal contact.

    • 24' Newcastle make their first venture into the City half with a free-kick taken quickly by Geremi. He hoists the ball into the penalty area but the referee is quick to pick up on some pushing and shoving and awards the home side a free-kick.

    • 17' GOAL MAN CITY!!!Robinho brings down Wayne Bridge's cross and turns on a sixpence, he plays a lovely little ball through for Wright Phillips who slams the ball into the back of the net from 6 yards out.
    • 12' Robinho with a free-kick on the edge of the Newcastle box. It's in an ideal position for the Brazilian but he puts it high and wide.
