24' Oooh! Ronaldo heads just wide from Nani's cross! But he should have left it for Berbatov, who was unmarked, just behind him and in a better position to find the target!
21' Ronaldo has a pop at goal from the resulting free-kick! It's an awkward one to deal with, bouncing just in front of Gomes, but the Brazilian does well to make the save!
8' BENT! Ooh! Lennon delivers another great ball in towards the far post! Bent is there with a header that Van der Sar is forced to push behind for a Spurs corner!
2' Fletcher plays it through for Berbatov! Can he reach it? No! Gomes is off his line quickly to claim at the Bulgarian's feet!

stop dreaming liverpoo and arse****

Man utd was very very good! ManUtd will be win Arsenal

hahaha moral spurs have down only with penalty, very easy

united

The way Spurs collapsed against Man U is worrying. OK, so the penalty was a home-town decision. But Spurs supporters should be more upset by shipping four goals after that. Soon as Man U upped the tempo in the second half, Spurs couldn’t cope. Most of the Man U goals came from the right. This confirms that the Spurs left-midfield is weak defensively. Modric is supposed to play out left, but he’s more at home in central midfield, in the hole behind the strikers. And like Lennon and Jenas, Modric is simply not strong enough defensively to keep out the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney & company. So Spurs need another holding midfielder to partner Palacios. Perhaps Corluka, once he no longer has to fill in for Hutton at right-back; otherwise Zokora or O’Hara. This might mean adopting a 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 formation against strong attacking sides.
Spurs also need to create more balance out wide going forward. Much of the attacking threat comes from Lennon on the right. On the left there’s too much reliance on Assou-Ekotto to overlap from full-back to provide crosses. Spurs need a natural left-footed winger. If Harry doesn’t rate Bale, he’ll need to buy someone like Downing or Duff.
The Man U result may have been a blessing in disguise. After the great results of recent weeks it looked as if Spurs might challenge the top four next season. This result has shown the team is not ready yet. It will first have to get a better balance

5-2 to the champions

The other game I referenced was the Newcastle v Man City game last October.
Beye dived back to tackle Robinho as he entered the box - Beye got a slight touch on the ball as well as bringing down the player. The ball changed direction slightly. Styles was the ref.
This is the incident over which Graham Poll, on Setanta's Football Matters show expanded on the directives over tackles in the Penalty box.

Part 2
the referee then judges, If the player was not taken down, could he have still played the ball and had an attempt on goal. If this is true then a penalty is given. This applied in the game at newcastle in question, and it also applied on saturday against tottenham. Carrick nudged the ball round Gomez, Gomez got a slight thouch aswell but also brought carrick down preventing him from continuing his attack. Nobody in commentary or in the studios realised this part of the rules. Perhaps we should all actually refresh ourselves on the rules and regs with these regards before going bananas over these incidents. It would also help if refs explained these things more often too

This is driving me crazy, I've written the second part 3 times now and it keeps being refused as invalid... WHY?????

WHY INV????

football should be like rugby, captains only to approach the ref, unless called for..... please dont make ronaldo player of the year........diver of the year more like it.....cmon on arsenal!!! cmon liverpool..........

man u are a load of cheeting w****** i hope arsenal batter them in the champions league, arsene wenger should speak up like david moyes about the ref before the kick off just incase, u just know arsenal will be playing for at least 96mins and against 12men, cmon arsenal............im a spurs fan by the way!!

Penalty incident.
Need to break this into two, keep getting invalid comment
Part 1
Carrick did touch the ball to try and round Gomez, but Gomez then got a slight touch and brought carrick down. In the past I would have said what everyone is saying... Keeper touches ball - No penno. But that's actually not the directives given to referees.
Graham Poll was on Football matters (Setanta) a couple of months ago and was asked about a similar incident up at newcastle where the Newcastle defender did something similar, ie. got a slight touch on the ball and brought attacker down in the box. Poll explained that getting a slight touch on the ball doesn't give licence to bring the player down.

united hope to buy kaka the name says it all should fit in nicelly then

wankchester united they even pull the referees plonker

This game was a fraud. Yes I have exposed Manchester United on my Youtube site. Profile is SundayFranklin.

Ok so the penalty was a mistake (but i also thought Carrick had touched the ball) but the score at the time was 2-1 to Spurs
Perryman ect would have rolled their sleevs up with indignation but I will tell you spineless lot this they would not have been beaten 5-2
and Jermain cry baby jenus go play for arsenal you are so usless

did anybody see that cheating dive by that liverpool player that won them a free kick so liverpool fans dont say it is just man united that get help from the referee because you got more help fact is liverpool scored 3 goals and man united scored 5 so those decisions by the referee that got both teams their first goals hardly influenced the outcome so back of all you haters just because man united can come from 2 nil down
glory glory man united
