    • 90+3 The whistle goes! United hold on for a 1-0 win but boy did Wigan make them work! Manchester United go second in the Premier League, with a game in hand!
    • 90+1 Almost a chance for Wigan but United just about deal with it in the corner, Rafael sliding in.
    • 89' Three minutes added time to be played.
    • 88' Berbatov plays a through-ball to Ronaldo but Figueroa slides in to put it out for a throw on the left. United take it short but an attempted cross is blocked and with Kirkland, who launches it upfield.
    • 85' UNITED SUB: Fletcher on for Scholes.
    • 83' Berbatov on the ball on the edge of the box and he has a cheeky shot with the outside of his boot but just wide with Kirkland static!
    • 81' WIGAN SUB: De Ridder on for Taylor.
    • 80' Wigan are really having a go after a free-kick is barely cleared by United and Taylor and Cattermole have efforts blocked.
    • 78' Wigan are really making United work hard for this as Figueroa gets tight on Vidic to force him to chase a nothing ball out for a throw.
    • 75' WIGAN SUB: Zaki comes off for Camara. Bit of a surprise as Zaki was playing well but he has been booked.

    • 67' Valencia turns O'Shea inside out and sends over a testing ball but Vidic gets ahead of Heskey to head clear and Heskey is left in a heap. Vidic helps him up though, goal-kick to United.
    • 66' Van der Sar's poor clearance is sent back towards the United goal and Zaki has a shot which is blocked and it drops to PALACIOS WITH A SPECTACULAR DRIVE but saved by Van der Sar!
    • 64' Wigan win another free-kick, right-centre around 35 yards out which Taylor takes and United make a mess of it but Van der Sar clings on under lots of pressure.
    • 62' Wigan have a corner on the left but Vidic heads clear.
    • 61' Valencia gets the ball on the right and plays it across for Zaki who tries a volley but it's blocked and comes back off Zaki into the path of Taylor but he can only shoot into the ground and easy for Van der Sar! One goal is not enough for United against this Wigan side...
    • 60' Anderson gets straight into the action but his cute ball wide for Ronaldo catches the Portuguese offside.
    • 58' UNITED SUB: Anderson comes on for Nani.
    • 56' Wigan come forward again, Valencia on the right, he swings over a decent cross which Zaki tries to bicycle kick but is cleared by Carrick. Zaki caught Carrick but Steve Bennett just has a word.

    • 49' United take it short but their move breaks down and Wigan try to counter. That fails though and it's back with United again but Scholes's long one for Berbatov is cleared.

    • 45+1 Good delivery by Taylor from the right but United manage to flick it clear, not sure who got a touch on that. The whistle goes, United are good value for their 1-0 half-time lead! The bad news, though, is that Wayne Rooney came off early on with what seems to be a hamstring injury!
    • 45' Zaki's clever turn and attempted crossfield pass forces an error by O'Shea who heads behind for a corner with what was an attempted back-header to Van der Sar.
    • 44' Berbatov steps over Ronaldo's low cross from the right thinking that Tevez was better placed to shoot but Scharner gets it away.
    • 43' Scharner stoops to nod Nani's cross clear from the six-yard box with Tevez lurking at the far post. Scholes drives forward now, and he sets up Ronaldo just to the right of the D but his low drive is straight at Kirkland.
    • 42' United have men over as they press Wigan for a second, but they overplay it with Berbatov trying to feed Ronaldo instead of pulling the trigger.
    • 41' Wigan counter, Zaki bursts into space in the middle and he plays it to the right with Valencia overlapping and he looks to the left AND TAYLOR IS UNMARKED ON THE LEFT BUT HE SPOONS IT HIGH AND WIDE! He should have at least made Van der Sar work there.
    • 38' Taylor's corner is cleared by Vidic but the header goes straight back to him. He sends it far post this time WHERE SCHARNER LEAPS TO HEAD ON GOAL BUT SIDE NETTING! Wigan's best chance so far.
    • 37' Palacios goes on a surging run down the right and clips a testing ball far post that Vidic is forced to head behind for a corner.
    • 36' United attack again and it's Nani down the right on to Berbatov's pass, he drills it across and United are queueing up but Ronaldo misses it and Tevez slides in far post but he is blocked by Bramble and it breaks to SCHOLES ON THE EDGE OF THE BOX but his rasping drive is also blocked by Melchiot and Wigan survive! Frantic defending from the visitors.
    • 35' Wigan come forward now but the final ball is poor and United clear. Tevez is offside.
    • 34' Nani cuts in from the right - which he is operating on after switching with Ronaldo - and he has a pop but it rises and rises and goes well over.
    • 32' RUBBISH! A good 60 seconds or so of Wigan pressure culminates in Spurs target Palacios having a crack from distance but he almost hits the corner flag with that one.
    • 31' United break menacingly down the right as Berbatov again clips a delightful pass wide right for Nani, who lofts it far post looking for Ronaldo but Melchiot gets ahead of him to head clear, winning a free-kick off the World Player of the Year in the process.
    • 29' Berbatov tries what can only be termed a sarcastic chip into the Wigan box, but alas Ronaldo and Tevez aren't on the same wavelength and Wigan clear.
    • 27' Tevez again gets in space but on the right this time. He cannot beat Figueroa though and Wigan clear.
    • 25' HOWLER! Kirkland launches it upfield and a defensive header from O'Shea goes to Berbatov but he's offside to just lets it run past him and Wigan stop moving and Tevez is played clean through and he's one-on-one and must score, he takes it round Kirkland but the touch is kind of heavy, he should still score but Bramble somehow gets across to slide in and force him too wide! Goal kick, a wasted opportunity for Tevez, who is playing for his United career.
    • 24' Carrick slides it into Berbatov but his attempted backheel to Tevez doesn't come off and it's half-cleared by Wigan. Carrick lofts it into the area for Nani to give chase but he fouls his marker and Wigan have a free-kick.
    • 23' A high one down the middle almost releases Ronaldo but Kirkland flies out of his box to head out for a throw. Good goalkeeping, but United swarm forward in numbers...
    • 21' Rafael is penalised for a foul on the left on Valencia, Taylor to take the free kick but United eventually clear. Tevez is sent free down the right but he can't get a cross in. Melchiot tries to clear but gives it straight to Berbatov, who delicately lofts it to Ronaldo just inside the box but his attempted volley is blocked and Wigan get the ball back. Ronaldo picked up a knock there but gets up and continues.
    • 19' Free-kick to Wigan on the left which Taylor will take, a decent delivery but headed clear by United. A second ball comes in from the right but Van der Sar comes across to claim.
    • 17' Ronaldo almost wriggles through into the box but is held up by Scharner and Bramble combined.
    • 15' Wigan have come forward with intent twice in recent minutes but both moved culminate in wild efforts over the bar by Valencia.
    • 12' Wigan get forward with Heskey on the edge of the box but his low drive is well wide of the left-hand post.
    • 10' Tevez now on the left wing, much like Rooney when he got injured, his cross is less deep but nicked away from Ronaldo.
    • 8' Bad news for United - Rooney has tweaked his hamstring and has limped off. Must have been chasing that Carrick ball a few minutes ago. On comes Carlos Tevez.
    • 6' Rooney gets down the left and plays a cross looking for Ronaldo but too deep. Wigan clear.
    • 5' Free-kick down the right for Wigan... swung over for Bramble to fly in for but the whistle goes for a foul.
